@minsung k. ᵇ "Oh me?" Toni sounded as if he didn't expect for Minsung to return the question. He didn't. He assumed Minsung would brush off the question and just yell at him for breaking his heart. He was mentally preparing himself for it after all. Toni clears his throat before he replies to the latter question. "I've been doing well. I've gotten my master's degree in criminal justice and I'm a police officer." The mood was as dreary as the skies outside. Toni opted to lighten it up, however all it did was just made it even more awkward. "I hope you're not breaking the law." He teases, and wags a finger to Minsung. A strained smile on his lips. His blue eyes looked at Minsung's basket and he noticed that there wasn't any vegetables in it. He smiles fondly. He remembers when he tried to get Minsung to eat vegetables as a source of fiber, but the latter refused. Of course, Toni couldn't convince Minsung to do what Toni wanted him to do. It was a futile fight that didn't need the effort or time. He points a finger to the basket the beta is holding. "I see that you don't have any vegetables in that basket. You still hate them huh?"
@toni m. ᵃ Minsung tried to calm himself down but his heat and symptoms that came with it drove him crazy, looking at the other while he took a deep breath, repeating in his mind how much he shouldn't care, how much it was pointless to care after all of these years. "Still doing music..." he mumbled, staring at the bag in his hand claws gently scraping the surface of the paper bag trying his best not to rip it to shreds. "Yeah...I got a few tattoos" he mumbled, not sure what the alpha even meant by "changed" was it even a good thing?
Minsung kept looking at the other, his enchanting blue eyes still piercing through his skin. "what about you? how've you been doing?" he asked with a small gulp, knowing the answer might hurt more than everything. 'happily married...3 cubs, all baby alphas' he repeated the predicted answer in his mind, hoping he won't be forced to see pictures of a baby version of Naoki and Toni cause that might make him really flip. There were times it was something he wanted, something he dreamt of, being the one in Toni's arms, happily married, but now it all seemed like a far and painful memory.
@minsung k. ᵇ Subsequent to breaking up with Minsung, and calling it quits with Naoki, Toni's latter days were boring. Since he was without Minsung, and Naoki, the alpha's life remained dull. He tried to find someone new, someone to replace Minsung, but he couldn't. It was futile. Toni recalls frequenting his nights at the nightclub and rutting with strange betas and omegas. Of course, he did ask them (omegas) if they were on a birth control, prior to having with them. Yet, this didn't suffice. It did not take away those feelings he had for his ex-boyfriend. The omegas lingered on his mind.
Whenever Toni would go to his bed to lie down, he could smell Minsung's scent on his bed sheets. So he got rid of them. He burned them. One day, Toni went to the convenience store to purchase a pack of cigarettes, he bought Winston Blue. He smoked half the pack within a week. Then, he went to the ice cream store. Toni's favorite flavor of ice cream was butterscotch. Except this time, he bought Minsung's favorite: chunky monkey. The alpha "attempted" to get Minsung off his mind. Yet, he was out and about buying things that Minsung liked.
He was practically lying to himself at that point. Toni had to seek counseling afterwards. He spoke to a therapist, letting them know how heartbroken he was. Despite it being /his/ fault for ruining the strong relationship. He and Minsung had history. Unfortunately, Toni was the one that made the foolish decision in cheating on him with Naoki. Because of that, their history was history. It didn't continue on. The therapist told him to take on hobbies to distract him from Minsung. To go out and meet new people. Don't mope around.
Toni did just that. Gradually, Toni learned to keep the memories he had with Minsung at bay. He didn't forget him, but he did manage to keep those thoughts locked away. The alpha soon moved on from it all. He stopped drinking (abusive drinking) and his depression alleviated. He returned to his normal life.
The German male clears his throat, and sensing the awkwardness. He shifts uncomfortably in his spot. "What have you been up to?" He asks him. Then he awkwardly smiled. "I see that you've... changed. That's nice." He nods his head. 'I see that you've changed? Of course he changed! He's been doing better off without you.' His conscious chided.
@toni m. ᵃ Minsung never got to say goodbye, he never got to say a word, to get his closer, he never got to ask "why?" or hear that Toni still loved him. Of course today Minsung was different, the idea of being locked in a relationship was something he'll probably avoid in all cause, but at the same time maybe it was all on Toni, but maybe not. The idea of giving the other so much power over he became to be, who he was, was too much for Minsung. bottom line Minsung knew he was stupid, he knew that no matter what he did he was nothing but a play thing for Toni, that in the end he was a beta and an Alpha male like Toni needed a Omega to breed. he wasn't enough, he was never enough.
The train of thoughts flowed through the Beta's head as he stood there for what seemed like hours but was mere seconds at the most, looking up to meet the other's blue piercing eyes, trying his best to fake a soft politician smile. "Hi...." was all he could say, his voice betraying him and the aching heat effecting his body even more. was it wrong to feel that weak around that male after so long. he took another deep breath trying to ignore the other's intoxicating smell.
In Minsung's mind he always imagined Toni already married, having 2-3 cubs leaving the traditional pack like he wanted all this time, and he couldn't help but wonder, was it Naoki? did he even loved him? the question kept floating in his mind and he couldn't stop but to feel pathetic.
"it's good to see you too..." he lied, giving the other the same fake smile from earlier, not sure how to engage in a small talk with the man who broke his heart
@minsung k. ᵇ It all came crashing like a tidal wave. That scent. That familiar, wondrous scent, one that he hadn't breathed in a while. His nose perceived the faint scent of menthol, the lethargic, mind-numbing scent. In the mixture is heavenly vanilla and a speck of scotch. Toni knew exactly who this was. He knew who that smell belonged to. Thinking about the name brought back memories from the past. Memories that Toni would not like to relive or think about again. Even if he was the wounding cause.
Although behind those memories were sweet moments. The playful banters, the nights cuddled up on the sofa, and chaste kisses they shared. Toni felt his heart clenching. Those happy memories soon faded into the bad memories.
The memory of him getting caught in bed with Naoki resurfaced. The vivid images of himself hovering above Naoki's lean body, and his hands gripping his waist flashed in his eyes. He could still smell Naoki's scent. The strong scent of honeydew. Then the images of Minsung catching him in his act came. The glassy eyes, the anger, dejection, and disappointment that tread within those deep brown eyes he grew to once love. At that moment, Toni didn't feel empathy. He couldn't. He was focused on rutting with Naoki to care about how Minsung felt. Thus he continued on when he got caught.
When he was finished with Naoki; was when he was finished with Minsung. After that, Toni pondered over his actions. He was ashamed to look Minsung in the eye after his misdeed. He was careless, and stupid. He shouldn't have let Naoki tempt him into having . He shouldn't have let it consume him. Toni wanted to go to Minsung and explain that he didn't mean to. But that will be a white lie. He wanted to make amends with Minsung. Most importantly, Toni never got to tell Minsung that he was sorry.
"Minsung," saying the name sounded foreign upon his tongue. Should he apologize after what he did? What should he say? Here Minsung stood, right before him after odd sum of years. Toni had nothing yet to say to him. The cloud of shame hung over his head. His mind was numb and he couldn't process what he should do. "It's... it's nice to see you again."
@toni m. ᵃ Minsung walked down the busy street as a small shiver went down his spine, it was cold fitting for the season and the cloud filled sky showed it was about to rain. Minsung just went out from the local bar, quite pleased about himself since he just got his first job at the village. It seemed like they needed a guitar player to accompany the bar's usual singer and minsung was perfect to fill that spot. He was already a week around the pack and even though he didn't want to admit it he was getting a long with the normal pack life even though he came at the wrong week and time.
It was heat season around the pack and it looked like everyone was getting territorial, and even though the beta was the short tempered kind of guy he felt lucky he could stay away from troubles and fights and kept himself off the radar, after all the last thing the wanted was to be labeled as the local troublemaker again, figuring that this time he could try a little harder and maybe, just maybe fit in.
since he still didn't had his grocery shopping for his new apartment he decided today was a good time to do it since he was out anyway, and even though his itch started and his whole body felt like he was inflames, minsung found himself traveling through the busy stores, trying to keep his mind off the aching heat and focus on the things he needed for the passing week. It was then at the meat store that he suddenly bumped into a taller male and without even hearing his voice Minsung froze. He could recognize the male's scent from miles, after all he carried this scent on his body for weeks, even months, the soft apologizing voice, sent a wave of bitter sweet memories all over his body and in that moment he didn't know what was best, to look up at the man or run away and hide. "It's ok...no harm" he whispered and turned away, wondering if the male in front of him even knew, even noticed who he was.
@minsung k. ᵇ The bleak winds that blew and the dreary sky perfectly matched with Toni's current brooding demeanor. During this fine and treacherous week, the alpha male had been dutifully working as an officer. Toni did his job well; although there was one factor of it that he did not enjoy. The fights. Lately, there have been brutal altercations between alphas and betas. He was unable to figure out why and he didn't want to know. It wasn't in his position nor did he cared. However, when the growth of the amount of disputes came to grow exponentially, he did grew concerned. Toni prayed to the Goddess that this will end. He couldn't bear to see his fellow brethren fight amongst each other over possibly trivial things.
On this same dull afternoon, Toni was shopping at the bazaar. He found that he needed food from the market, and maybe a few herbs to create some sort of medicine for himself. The alpha learned that he was in heat, he needed to rut, however the last time he rutted with someone they were injured. Toni found out about this when he was younger and had his first rut. He blacked out. He couldn't remember what happened and what he had done. The only evidence that showed was the claws left on their body and bruises at their hips.
Toni shook his head. He fights off the sour memory. The male grabs an orange, examines it for bruises or flaws and then places it into his basket. He grabs several more. After taking five oranges, the tall and built man delicately walks away from the fruit stand. He enters the meat section of the store. Here, there is a wide variety of meats to choose from, and there's also plenty of it to go around. Pig, deer, boar, turkey, chicken, duck, rabbit, cow and even quail. The list goes on and on. The bazaar always kept this section of the store stocked because the wolves would come here to feast upon it.
The sight of the meats caused Toni's stomach to growl. He was hungry indeed. Now, which of these fine meats should he purchase this gloomy evening? A package of deer meat, frozen lamb, pig feet, oh, maybe a skinless chicken. Toni picks up the package containing the latter and observes it. "This will not suffice," he mutters, and he tosses the meat to where he picked it up. The handsome-faced male sighs, and his eyebrows furrow as he looks hopelessly to the variety of meats.
A minute later his steel-blue eyes drift over to cow and boar meat. He slowly walks towards it and looks at the package of them. The boar meat weighed five pounds while the cow meat weighed 2 and a half. He could opt for the boar as he had not feasted on boar in a while. Toni adds the 75 note, boar meat, into his basket. He had his eyes aimlessly looking at the refrigerated meats, and that was when he collided into another person.
"Oh dear, I apologize, I did not see you there." Toni bashfully apologizes to the person.
@kunhang w. ᵇ he latches himself once again against kunhang's side as he looks on the photograph, tugging his lips into a small smile after. "And so are you, kunhang. You are adorable, as always." he muses as they make their way to the counter, where they are given a whole new box of films to use. "Oh okay, we can go do that. Are you buying new clothes for yourself?"
