@l jeno with her shoes loosely hung onto the curve of her fingers, she turns to him just as he taps her shoulder. her initial vision of melancholy seemingly seeps in bits of color upon his arrival, and now, she welcomes him with a small smile. "hi," she says, glancing at his feet. signifying him to take his shoes off, she wriggles hers for him to see and nudges his side subtly. "c'mon, the sand feels nice and we're just in time for the sunset actually." she saunters over towards the water, not yet reaching it, but rather meeting the wet sand instead, and gestures for him to follow suit. "i wanted to do something for you."
@s hyejoo jeno doesn't know what to make of this meeting, but the question of why'd she have asked to meet with him gets blown to the back of his mind as he cycles against the wind to the beach. even though he passes this area on a daily basis, he'd rarely sat at the beach. the beach would've been empty sans the one figure sitting on the sand. jeno makes quick moves in securing his bicycle before he's sliding towards the girl, a hand reaching out to tap on her shoulder once he is close enough. "hey," he says as he raises his hand in a small wave.
@l jeno she lied. other than her faux identity, she'd tell jeno that beach visits were rare for her, but in all honesty, she appears rather too often for her liking—lying was second nature to her. but, to further reassure herself, she doesn't think much of her white lie, and leisurely waits for him with her bare feet idly shifting around in the sand.

It felt as though he were suffocating, yet his feet haven't even met the water. Crystalline ocean waters greeted him with a shimmering painting of the moon on its ever rippling surface, the subtle scent of briny deep sodium chloride flooding his nose and reminding him of the cold darkness and rocky floors that awaited him further out on the shore. In the deep recesses of his mind was a weeping alter, a caretaker so worried and frightened by the host's actions that it had reduced him to tears. Drops of warm crimson spilled from his wrist and into the salty foam that environed his legs with every wave that caressed the expanse of the beach.
"This is your punishment," Yangyang whispered to himself in a voice that was clearly not his. Their persecutor, Liuyan, was often ruthless to the point of quietus, but never had they witnessed him do anything of this degree or manner before. It was only wishful thinking to believe that their protector would even allow him an acquaintance. It was foolish of him to even endeavor the possibility of a different life. Yangyang knew that Liuyan would never permit him to such a prosaic continuance. He had percolated through the wall he had tried to build between them, forcing him to shut out those who dared to come close. "This is for your own good. In the future, you will thank me for keeping us all alive," the persecutor avowed, failing to recognize how his own influence was slowly but surely killing them.
All this just for a friend, for a hand to hold, for an open heart to warm up to. Yangyang was starting to believe that relationships were not worth this degree of trouble as he cratered into the abyssal waters, drowning himself in the guilt that had been forced into him by an overprotective alter. "I hope you never dare go behind my back like that ever again," Liuyan warned him before snatching control from the host and moving deeper, unaware of the fact that he was endangering himself with his own gratuitous punishments.
