@Justin M. ℬ∤ Katherine laughed in amusement at how adorable Justin was imaginatively air-choking Klaus. "Gosh that must've been a pain in the , plus you couldn't do anything but to watch the rest of them make stupid mistakes over and over again, especially Klaus." She grinned brightly and tilted her head; already feeling more comfortable around him.

@Katherine L. ℬ∤ "ahhh! don't get me started with that!" he exaggeratedly choked the air as if it was klaus's neck. "the way I've been wanting to punch him for making everyone think that I'm not around when I'm just in the sidelines watching everyone"

@Justin M. ℬ∤ She kept staring at the almost dried petals with emptiness in her eyes before glancing at Justin and smiling. "Well enough with all this sad, gloomy stuff.. So tell me, how did it feel when you were a ghost and only able to speak to Klaus? I heard he coaxed the others about you not being there with them.." she giggled softly and faced her body adjacent to his; completely interested with his answer.

ℬ∤ Kat's words definitely stung him, all those saddening truths they all can never escape was handed to them at a very young age and actually, no one can blame them if they've got these traumas and ed up mentality. a thick skin wasn't enough to survive the way they were brought up their father and maybe if it wasn't for them- brothers and sisters and all- they would've just straight up rebelled.

Justin still remembers that day when Katherine was permanently banned from exposing her abilities in public, he pitied the way she was just shut down from everything but despite that he also admires at how cheerful she can still be. it's one thing he still has yet to understand. watching as the petal dies as it touches the wooden table he gave Katherine a gentle pat on her shoulder "I'm pretty sure if we could all change and decide who and what we become, we're all gonna grab that chance"

@Justin M. ℬ∤ "Yet here we are.." she chuckled softly in disbelief in herself, although she had been treated unfairly by Dad so many times, Kat still stayed inside of the institution. Why? Well, because the only thing that she knows for most of her life was the academy, with Sir Reginald not letting her go out or mingle with the others weren't really helpful in building her social skills and self confidence, he broke her down mentally to believe that she would never be good enough for the team nor the world and that's why she just hid herself inside of the institution's walls and expresses herself through the pages of her writings.

"Luther.. It was always about him.." she sighed deeply. "I just wish that someday I could just be normal, you know, without my powers getting in the way. But just like what Harley Quinn said in Suicide Squad, 'people like us, we don't get normal' and that's the truth.." she nodded slowly, her head turning to the flower vase on the coffee table; the flowers in it were withered by her powers. "You see what I'm talking about?" She smiled sadly, eyes still focused on the flowers.

@Katherine L. ℬ∤ the way some of their siblings have been haphazardly adopted and set aside when their abilities didn't met Reginald Hargreeves standard was very sad. vanya was just someone who their father was unable to control, and hearing his sister's sentiment, he started to form all sorts of thoughts in his mind. "but what if that's not the case for the others?, what if despite the this... this gifts we have some of them still wants to keep us? what would have been the outcome of our stories?" the thought of becoming villains instead of heroes had passed justin's mind a couple of times, what if their adoptive father didn't built the umbrella academy? what if they were just born and sent away to orphans or scientist, maybe even to the government?. "I don't know, I guess even through the storm we've been through, I'm still hoping that dad isn't that cold" he notices the change of tone and expression on his sister but shrugged it off taking it as her own emotions building up. "nah, you don't apologize, I actually get it- Luther's the only one who he favors so I share the same view"

She sighed softly and gave him a gentle, sincere smile. "You've asked the right person then." Kat took a small pause before continuing. "Remember how Dad took Luther in first? Our real parents thought that I was normal since they got me first and Luther came in by surprise - well in other words a 'surprise twin'. So, I had the chance to stay with my real mom. It wasn't that beautiful to say the least." Her eyes travelled across the room while she reminisced those memories. "If Dad still went on with his whole 'superhero family' idea, then we'll turn out just like me, getting thrown away by our own flesh and blood. But if this academy doesn't exist, we might be the villains instead." Her tone changed at the end of her sentence as she looked at Justin with an emotionless face; around them, the skies seem to have turned dark and gloomy and thunders flash throughout the atmosphere before Kat shook her head as if she was just woken from a trance.

"Uh sorry! That turned out real dark." She chuckled nervously; the previous thunder and darkness had subsided just like how her behaviour changed. Kat put a strand of her wavy hair behind her ear before giving Justin another friendly smile.

@Katherine L. ℬ∤ the attempt to mimic their very strict father earned katherin a low chuckling from justin, "sometimes I wonder, what would've happened if we weren't taken away from our real mothers... would we still be heroes?"

@Justin M. ℬ∤ "Of course! Allison DID rumor all of you to think that Vanya is powerless and I can assure you that my powers do not go as hard as her. You know it yourself." she nodded affirmatively. "As far as I am concerned, my powers might be the least useful to the team and I quote, 'Your powers are not very useful for the team, what would a bunch of ivy and roses do to fight the enemy?'" she spoke it in Dad's way of speech jokingly and chuckled. Kat puckered her lips as she nodded while listening to Justin's answer. "To think of it, we have such a weird life huh? A bunch of children living with an eccentric billionaire, a chimp and a robot mother. What a weird existence." she shook her head.

@Katherine L. ℬ∤ "dad is just- not a parent material, but I'm sure he means well" he sets the book down and grabbed his drink "heyy, Kat, are you sure your powers aren't like vanya's? I mean, we all thought she was just a dud but it turns out she's the most powerful one... have you tried experimenting with it?" he takes another swig of his caffeinated beverage. "ahh, well at first it was very intimidating, yknow, all eyes are on you, you're expected to excel and finish jobs, so yeah- it is tiring but very rewarding at the same time."

@Justin M. ℬ∤ "Maybe he is.. Who knows.. It's crazy how we let him dictate our lives before and I'm thankful that the government decided to work with the institution now.. It let's us have more freedom like that I guess.. It's crazy how we all grew up in the same house together but me and Vanya were constantly isolated from you guys just cause our powers don't go up to par with Dad's standards." she shrugged slightly. "So tell me, how did it feel to be a part of the team that saved the world? It must've been tiring." she smiled softly and propped her head up on the palm of her hand.

ℬ∤ he fell quite dumbfounded at the latter's revelation, her opinion was valid but to justin and the rest of the siblings that was included in the book, he couldn't help but feel a faint pinching in his heart. true that they were all connected by being adopted but as a brother, he didn't know how to respond at the expository novel Vanya wrote about their family. "ahh- I see, it is well written, good choice", he went on to take the bookmark from the page where he stopped and focused on the words- "honestly, none of us was happy about it, but you know it's all in the past soo" he went to take a quick glance at kat, sometimes he forgets that she is luther's twin.. "you know that dad's just really really terrible at handling emotions, I'm sure it's not like that"

@Justin M. ℬ∤ She smiled softly as he gave her a reassuring look. The reason why she had bombarded him with questions was because it was her first time finally being able to talk to him face to face alone. It was a surreal feel to actually include herself in a conversation with the original Hargreeves team. "That's a great choice.." she nodded as she looked at the front cover of the book. "My favorite book would actually be Vanya's book. She was being honest about what was going on with this family.. Although I'm pretty Luther's not so happy about it, he is Dad's favorite." her face changed as she mentioned Dad and how he always compared the twins to each other.

one query followed by another, 'she sure knows how to interrogate people' he thought to himself, still a faint smile plastered on his face, "okay, Kat." he nodded his head and took a quick swig of his macchiato, watching as the other sat beside him, "nope, I'm free today, I got off from the restaurant and I think the others can handle the superhero stuff for now", flipping through the pages of his book, he tried to give Katherine a reassuring look in hopes for her to feel a little more at ease. "oh this?" he made sure to lift the book up a little to reveal the front cover "it's the da vinci code, I've been meaning to finish this but I'm always occupied with stuff so I'm gonna continue it right now, do you have any favorite books?"

"Oh uh yeah.. Ok. Justin." she mutters his name softly before slumping back from her tense position earlier. "And just call me Kat.. You're not doing anything today?" she looks at him hesitantly; deciding whether to make eye contact with him or not. She gathers up her courage to change her seating to the same couch that Justin was sitting at. "What are you reading?"

he couldn't help but chuckle and shake his head, your struggle of finding a name to call him was quite adorable, he heads to a couch adjacent to where you were seated and proceeded to place his beverage on the wooden table that's parting you two, "you can just call me Justin, we're in the mansion after all, those other nicknames only apply outside and in front of the media, Katherine."

Katherine sits quietly while she writes her poetry in a journal. Her eyes fly to see that Justin had entered the room.
