@『 ✦ 』justice kim。 afternoon emerged in hollywood heights, with the sun shining brightly like always. its radiant beams casted yellow rays of light on the sidewalk. jasper in his stuffy suit looked dull and monochrome in comparison, draped in grey hues which complemented the sunken look in his eyes. he looked like he hasn’t slept in ages, although that is the most likely scenario. with his newfound notoriety in law, exposure to the public was inevitable. the mask he put on was dangerously close to slipping, and sooner or later the truth will be fully uncovered.
whatever, he has no time to mull over such possibilities. he headed towards the café, selling beverages that would temporarily remedy his never-ending fatigue. it was the one spot he would regularly visit; he can even consider it as his safe haven. from each visit, there were little to no variances, from the lingering smell of mocha to the busy tables. the sense of familiarity would usually bore him, but it’s oddly comforting in this case. as he went to wait in line however, he ran into a recognizable face. he clears his throat before beckoning the other to come closer. “justice, it’s me. jasp.”
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 his quick retort cause her to roll her eyes—upon first glance she would have never expected him, a stranger who had ignored her greetings upon their primary meeting, to have such witty responses and be able to bounce off her banter so quickly. “if that’s the truth, i’ll be oh so very hurt,” she responds with a shake of her head. as he brings up a country across the world, she can’t help the chortle that escapes . “because japan is japan, and there’s this thing called .” her gentle features contort into one of distaste, shaking her head in disdain. “i know you did not just refer to my dog as a pillow.”
she does the same, tossing away her trash though the toy she had managed to swipe from him is still nestled comfortably in the safety of her handbag. as they walk into the elevator, she gazes at the sight of their figures in the mirror. the demoiselle wears a kind smile upon her lips, no different from her usual disposition. “i’m glad you enjoyed it, i was worried you’d hate it, with all the convincing i had to do for you to come,” she says with a laugh. admittedly, she hadn’t expected to find solace in the presence of a quiet neighbor today. now in the privacy of the elevator, she still wants to drag her hand, which is now hooked around his arm, back to his hand, but she supposed she can wait. there is one thing she will indulge herself in, though.
as the doors to the twenty-third floor begin to slide open, light peeking into their tiny paradise, she leans up on her tippy toes to reach him. her voice is soft, gentle as she speaks to him and him only: “i’ll see you later, jihoon oppa.” then pickering her pink lips, she presses a quick but chaste kiss to his cheek before pulling back, landing back on her feet again with a shy smile.
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 the night zephyr hit Isaac's face in such a gentle way, awakening his whole body, it wasn't normal for him to feel heat or cold. not because he was inhuman but because his mind was clouded with ecstasy from all the weed and alcohol running through his veins. being this sober only meant for Isaac to feel unknown emotions and sensations. finishing his fries, he packed it nicely for trash on his right hand, before turning to her again "or maybe I'm trying to trick you into thinking I do, so I can get kina by myself?" shakes head lifting his chin as if he was going to speak in front of millions just to get his argument correctly. "if japanese can marry pillows, I'm sure a dog won't be that bad"
reaching the building, Isaac threw the his destroyed happy meal into the garbage, walking towards the elevator with a sense of culmination. "I enjoyed today..." he mumbled not daring to look the girl in the eye, afraid she would just give him a bland expression. the doors slide open, Isaac watched himself in the mirror, he didn't recognize himself at first. a distinctive gaze and posture reflected, causing him to stop to analyzing himself and how much brighter he looked, his eyes shift to see the girl on the mirror, she was the only difference between the regular day and today. Isaac wanted to fight himself but at the same time wanted to tell her things, he decided to shut himself down again. leaning against the wall of the elevator and pressing the twenty-third floor
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 when he suddenly stops, taking his place not beside her as he had been but rather in front of her, vivian then becomes aware of how he towers over her, his height much more giving than hers. she blinks as his lithe digits suddenly grip at her chin, pulling her up to gaze straight at him, though her chocolate orbs widen the slightest at his words. when he releases her chin, her lips fall somewhat ajar as she takes in his words; she hadn't truly been expecting him to be so straightforward with her joke. she clears , recounting the words in her head whilst attempting to keep back a smile—cute, energetic, witty, pretty, cool, amazing, buoyant, adorable, curious.
though she holds her sandwich in her hand, she hooks her arm around his as he returns to his spot next to her. she may not be able to hold his hand, but this way they can at least share a connection. a cheeky smile is spread across her lips, smooth like butter, before she takes a bite of her chicken sandwich. once she swallows, she asks, voice bright once more, "does that mean you prefer me over kina? since she's not around." at his comment about dating her dog however, she laughs and retorts wittily, "i'm pretty sure that's illegal, oppa." the building comes back into view, the lights shining from its structure, and she's quite amazed at how he has opened up in the short time. perhaps she did know how to talk to people, after all.
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 attentively observing the female, his teeth crave slowly onto his bottom lip, Isaac wanted to laugh but seeing how she was holding onto those words he decided to stop in front of her, lifting her chin before speaking “Vivian, princess Vivian...” taking a deep breath as his orbs allocated on hers “you’re not selfish. you’re here with me. you’re cute, energetic, witty, pretty... I mean pretty cool, you’re amazing, alright? I enjoy your company, aren’t I here without kina around?” letting go of her chin, he resumed to his previous position holding back a smile from seeing her soft pouty lips.
“I could date kina, she could be like woman of my life.” he quickly declared before shoving the small burger in his mouth, humming of how delicious and nice it felt sliding down his throat. “what kind of toys do you like?” as he approaches the building a sudden darkness rushed through him, he was too used to come home alone after a long day at work. all those memories came back to him, but just spectating them, the girl next to him wouldn’t let reality wash away so easily. he smiled at the small victory
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 it's true that the young woman is hanging on to every word that leaves the man, for he speaks with such diligence and truth. vivian had grown up in a community that grew convoluted and faded with lies and false flattery. she had been called beautiful, intelligent, the epitome of a perfect daughter—but she knew they were all fake. but with him, every word is true, every descriptive adjective is his perception of her. and she hangs to every note. "mm, a list would be nice," she says, along with a roll of her eyes at the way he immediately brightens at the mention of her dog. "feel free to add selfish to that list, too."
her bright eyes blink repeatedly as he releases her hand, and without even knowing it her bottom lip slowly juts out in a slight pout, the warmth of his hand in her's disappearing from her figure within milliseconds. "hmph," she hums, a slight sour tone in her typically merry voice. "guess you can just ask kina to hold your hand next time," she teases. she does, however, take the toy from him and observe it in her hands whilst they walk, beginning to make their way back to the apartment building. tucking the toy into her purse, she takes her sandwich from the bag, unwrapping it.
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 his lips parted being defeated in his own game, displaying a bit of annoyance expression as his tongue pressed against the side of his cheek. "I can't believe you're going to count and memorize every word I say to you... should I give you a list?" his eyes illuminated at the mention of the precious dog "kina??? if it's for kina I'll buy ten happy meals for her to keep the toys!" his shoulders automatically dropped at her explanation, fooled by his own thoughts and desires, why would she really want to hold his hand anyway.
"I guess you're just have to take care of me, indeed, i'll be the irresponsible one and get crazy while you take me home safely" food arrived on time, Isaac ask on the go to make it easier but still, he will need to release her hand soon or neither of them will eat. leaving the restaurant with the bags, he mumbled "I guess we have to let it go, unless you want to feed me and I will feed you?" if yesterday Isaac was present he would be in shock, the amount of things that he said within twenty four hours were atrocious, nothing alike the normal pallid man. "I'm kidding! I think we can let go and eat normally" he said as his finger slowly detached from hers, using both hands to hold his happy meal, sneaking his hand inside to find the toy for kina. "oh? it's a plushie of some random movie?"
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 his compliment reaches her ears, and though she had lived a life of political views and battles, full of backhanded compliments and insincere flattery, she really takes his to heart. even his laugh, a boisterous sound which seems to have been locked up, stored away in the depths of his machiavellian id up until this moment, brightens her mood. "adorable, curious, and buoyant," she repeats gently more to herself than him, a recollection of all the words he had used to describe her. he had also utilized selfish, though she hadn't taken that to heart. "but i'm serious, i think kina is bored of her dog toys," she says with a laugh. "but yeah, if we got drinks i'd have to let go of your hand to carry them back. you know, the food and the drinks," she explains.
pleased that he had finally been convinced to come to the party, to accompany her, she shakes her head. "i don't really drink. at least, not heavily. i'm still under the drinking age, remember?" she asks, nudging him in the side seeing as she was only twenty, and the legal drinking age in the states was twenty-one. "i've only had like, wine and small stuff." these of which were offered to her at parties that she attended with her parents, which would be no more. it shocked her still that he enjoyed the feeling of getting drunk, when all she associated with alcohol was its bitter taste and the heat it brought to her skin. "i think i'll just take care of you while you're drunk."
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 he was merely playing around with words about getting himself such kid meal, but seeing how she reacted he simply laughed out loud. "you want the toy??? you're really adorable, vivian!" in the midst of his laughing he didn't realize the word that escaped his tiers, he didn't mean to compliment her in such way, not out loud. nodding at her suggestion, it was indeed better but only for her, he know by then he would drink more than he should and have a pathetic look like he always does. still, he comply with her and handed the cashier his card. "you would... let go of my hand?" peering down at how they were still connected he blinked, unsure of how to truly feel about all of that, but still not wanting to release her grip. "no drinks then, only at the party. I will drink there"
convicted that the party would be a decent place to be, he sighed it's been so long since he last went to such public event. what if his traumatic past come to haunt him? what if he gets too wasted and does something he will regret forever? trying his best to shake the negative thoughts away he faked a smile, waiting for the food to come. "tomorrow thankfully is my day off, so I can drink as much as I can. will you drink?"
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 she observes the way he puts his hand on his waist, as though striking a playful sassy pose; it was something quite unexpected from him and her eyes light up in laughter, bell-like giggles reverberating through the small fast food restaurant. "not dull, just... calm. mhm, very calm," she nods affirmatively, biting back a smile that threatens to make itself present upon her coral brims. sure, vivian had friends, but she had not interacted with a person such like isaac, quiet and intriguing. though he seemed to be a man of few words, she was more than happy to fill the silence between them. except now, he seems to have made himself more comfortable in her overwhelming and zealous presence. "a happy meal? can i have your toy?" she asks with a childish, teasing glint in her eyes.
she blinks when his finger gently prods at her cheeks, eyelashes fluttering before she looks up to him. catching sight of his visage, features contorted into one of contemplation whilst he gnaws upon his lip, she ponders his suggestion. "maybe we can take some at the party, when i'll look better than i do now," she jests, stepping forward with the two of them toward the front of the line. without much thought, she continues to lean her head into his shoulder again, looking up at the menu. "i think we can forgo drinks for now," though it's not lost on her how he pulls out his wallet, she doesn't begin to offer her own—this was supposed to be him paying back, right? she gives his hand a light squeeze. mindlessly she comments, "if we get drinks, i'll have to let go of your hand on the walk back..."
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 time flew oh so swiftly, guess it's true when people say time spent with someone you care it flies from your hand quicker than light speed. so it felt for Isaac, just earlier he was trying to get his coffee at the shop and now he's in some sort of dinner arrangement with someone he barely knows. peaceful, that's how he felt, wondering why all his worries disappear once they are together. "are you saying I'm dull?" Isaac huffed playfully, placing his free hand on his waist and stopping his tracks once they enter the restaurant. biting down his lower tier as she leans her head, tempted to do the same but preventing himself to do so. "I want... happiness... I mean happy meal" more raw words coming out like bullets but a lenient twist made it into a fun order.
his digits darted towards her cheek, poking it gently unsure of how she would take it but she looked too adorable to just stare. "you're a soft person..." mumbled under his breath, biting down his lip at the sudden idea he had, but still whisper it curious of how she would answer "should we take... photos?" regardless of their relationship was at the moment, it was still a fun moment to capture, perhaps the first day he has ever smiled with a full heart. "if not, it's okay... we can take in the future... I hope... maybe at the party?" approaching the counter, Isaac started ordering the chicken and his happy meal. "what do you want to drink? or are we skipping?" his wallet was already on his hand, not wanting her to pay for anything else from now on, trying to look as casual as possible about it.
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 she almost felt as though she were a small child, being dragged along by the hand by a brother or parent to prevent her from running away in a fit of excitement. that was how she felt her entire life, kept on a leash to prevent from acting out. since the passing of her parents, she's felt a little more free, independent. such feelings no longer bite at her heart as she lightly swings their interlaced hands between them, enjoying the warmth of the los angeles sun on her skin. she feels grown, like she can take control of herself. "mm, sure," she chirps, nodding at his suggestion. "then i won't have to eat a bunch at the party." a light snicker leaves her lips, a gentle laugh at his words. "curious and buoyant, that's me. you're quite the opposite, but i don't mind."
his simple statement almost seems to carry more than just words with it, causing her to gnaw on her lips. even the feeling of his finger, reaching forward to brush a loose fallen hair from her face, as it brushes lightly against her temple, is cold. it awakens her. "i don't know, dessert kind of filled me up. i think we did it too backwards, now i'm full," she laughs. "maybe just a chicken sandwich, i don't know." as they enter the mcdonald's (which thankfully for some reason, isn't as busy as it usually is), she pulls him into the line, looking up at the menu. unknowingly, her head leans toward him, as though resting against his arm. "what do you want?"
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 alleviation and comfort was what the softness of her hands made him feel, surprising how he boldly just took her hand without even shaking. as they walked together through the street, Isaac pressed his lips together in deep thought. "we can just take the food, and eat as we walk back home, what do you think? that way we would be able to have time to change and then meet at the party." unconsciously nudging her closer, his soften orb looked at the female, her energy and happiness was contagious earning a wide smile on his tiers. "you're a curious one, princess vivian..." the closeness made him want to hug her close, but he knew it wasn't the moment or time for that sort of affection. fascinating how one simple being can turn life upside down in a good way. there's hope, he thought.
"I want to get to know you more." his eyes were full of vivacity, perhaps reflected from the figure he was looking at, his tiers tug upwards in the most honest smile he could present. vivian jung. who is she. what she likes, everything he yearns to know, the person who made him smile the most for the last six years or even throughout his whole life. "starting with what you're going to eat from the mcfood?" a strain of hair covered the side of her face, Isaac's long index finger reached out to gently moved it away from her face.
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 vivian had spent her whole life as a princess. her parents expected her there, at the top, hands folded perfectly together like a freshly bloomed lily, never to let a single unhappy expression soil her pretty features. being a princess got tiring sometimes. she wanted to be free, to be not a princess but a girl—but she supposes she can handle another night, for him. “call me princess vivian,” she says with a grin, glad to see the conversation making another turn. she doesn’t even hesitate as he holds his hand out to her, taking his hand into hers with a blithe smile gracing her visage. did that mean he would be her prince? not that she needed saving, though her lonely apartment did often feel like a tower with a resemblance to rapunzel’s.
she doesn’t ponder anything as the two of them begin to parade from the cafe, the slowly setting sun painting the once empyrean firmament in shades of bloody oranges and luscious pinks. “that’s okay,” she says, swinging their hands. “i’m quite a homebody too but i know where the mcdonald’s is. it’s just a short walk.” looking around at the bustling streets, she observes, “i hope we’ll make it back in time before the party starts.”
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 as if the whole world became a dark cold place, that was isaac's inside, so many words he wanted to say but fatigue rushed over. eyebrows slightly frowning at the possibility that it was all a dream, she doesn't exist, only pain and suffering will remain. even with that, his inner being was ready to fight against all odds, punching isaac's stomach from the inside. "I guess we could go, mcfood is waiting..." the soft humor was still there somehow, this was probably the most bipolar day Isaac has ever lived, two world colliding in ways he could ever depict. finishing his latte in one big sip and the macaron with his large tiers engulfing the whole thing, Isaac got up, extending his hand towards the girl. his semblance was still as gelid as normal but his words were shadowing his aching heart "come, be my disney princess for tonight, soojin-ah"
in hopes that after dinner he would rush home to change clothes to meet the girl at the party, he truly hoped today was just like a disney movie. perhaps a movie that wouldn't end the next day, that's all he wished for. intertwining his fingers with the female's he slowly walked her out of the coffee. "I don't even know where it is... I don't really... leave my house" shyly confessed, it was true all the food he would order from some app, even groceries. the coffee shop was all he know because he enjoyed the sun light before work.
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 “life could be a movie, if you make it that way.” vivian had grown up in a home of diamonds—her life as she knew it consisted of perfectly lined ducks in a row, faux vaseline smiles, and fake fur. hairstyles with not a strand out of place. perhaps her optimism came with a price. she lived a sheltered life, and she knew it as well. it was why her parents had laughed at her upon her expression of her desire to pursue journalism; how could a princess who grew up in a crystal castle ever see herself among the slums, recording their misfortunes? no, she had never drowned—never felt the burn of her lungs like fire were enveloping them in its flames, the desperation trying to claw through what would only slip through your fingers. but perhaps, for once in her life, she wants to. for a moment, her only response is a tentative purse of her lips before she says, “i’m okay with drowning. i know how to swim.”
does she know what she is getting herself in to? no, not at all. not the slightest. all she knows is that this man before her is struggling, fighting... and a part of her soul tells her she wants to help, that she should. like they are connected in a way she doesn’t know. at his capitulation, the ghost of a smile glosses upon her lips, her eyes not looking to him but toying around the lip gloss mark that has been stained onto the lip of her beverage. “trying is all i need. i’ll try too,” she responds, looking up to meet his eyes. “jihoon oppa.”
then she shakes her empty cup the slightest. “are you ready for dinner?”
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 Isaac watched as his sip changed the shape of his latte, her statement caused him to simply accept inconclusive facts "huh." was all he could reply, all the joy of the teasing was gone, introspecting those last twenty four hours and how much he let it go. he needed to get a grip of himself again, to not allow any aperture to get hurt again. "you're too optimistic, reality isn't a disney movie." all the smiles were gone and his muscles were all tensed again, reminiscing all the lonely times he's been through and how drugs were his only help to keep him alive. "it take more than a simple friendship to cure me. i will drown you with me if you stick around for long."
his visage lifts once more, making a vivid eye contact with the woman, having a bittersweet taste on his lips from all his harsh words towards someone who only wanted to help. "I can't promise to be there... but I will try... for... for you, soojin-ah." flashbacks from the sweet moments these two shared together in the past day surged, Isaac being immersed with guilty and still feeling the need to give back everything she gave him so far, being at the party was the least he could do for her. he was still petrified from all this new emotions and afraid it was all an illusion, isaac didn't want to wake up next day in the same dark room alone.
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 his question lingers in the air, causing her to blink at him from behind her cup of warm tea, steaming at its surface. as he turns to instead gaze outside the window, possibly avoiding her eyes, she allows her gaze to linger upon the angular form, the dips and rises, of his visage. manicured fingers wrapped tightly around the warmth of her beverage, she responds, "i'd like that, actually." a small smile bites at her lips, though she attempts to suppress it from reaching her visage proudly. "at least, i can take care of you when you're drunk and wasted. kina can't."
when his eyes meet hers, holding an obvious question within them like the evasive glow of a lighthouse through the cloudy firmament of the sea, she feels a slight espousement begin to develop and circulate in her chest, similar to that of a heartburn. but this is different—much different. though vivian had never been great at recognizing the pain or discomfort of others, often too lost in her own world to recognize it, this stranger turned dinner partner wears his on his sleeve. wounds... she nests a few of her own. "don't apologize," she says. the next words to leave her lips are faint, temperate. "i think i'd heal them better than alcohol, or smoking." she could still smell the smoke in his aura, indented in her memory from the day before. "and if you'd have me, i do want you there."
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 wrapping his digits around his mug, keeping his eyes on her, he took a small sip. he tried vigorously to read her intention behind her words but he could be tripping in his own desires. Isaac was hankering to know more, to keep that conversation going to disclose if he was missing something "what would you do, if I preferred you... over kina?" observing the world outside as he took a deep breath, trying to remain calm and not overthink, he deduced this was just a reflection of how desperate for contact his being is. letting out a sarcastic chuckle he continue "I would totally get drunk and wasted... there's nothing else for me there." with that his whole dark self returned. the purest but realest reality, by the end of the day Isaac has no one and nothing to return home to.
"you want me as your date?" his dark lost orbs raise once more to meet hers, trying to find some comfort and truth in her words. his soul wanted some sort of cuddle of warmth and new life breathing into him, heart aching in pain of being so mistreated by his own family and the world around him. "do you want to heal my wounds?" Isaac didn't mean to expose himself in such a brutal way, words slipped so easily from how broken he was and for all those times he gave up in being happy. he fell back in silence, staring down at the small macarons and how happy they looked on the plate forgetting how hungry he was. "I'm sorry..."
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 there's a small glint in her eye at her question—whether the shine is from the light reflecting off the glittery makeup located at the center of her inner corner or the bright grin being mirrored in her lips, that is for isaac to decide. "well, yeah, i'd hope you'd prefer me over a dog," she giggles, taking another bite before conscientiously sliding the small plate forward toward him, politely offering her own tart to him. she had, after all, been taught proper debutante mannerisms and was always conscious to share whatever she could. "i don't plan to stay for long enough to get drunk, or see people get that drunk."
there's a hint of sadness to his words, even vehement enough in his tone that the often clueless young woman could pinpoint it. her tiers purse just the slightest, though she hides the slight frown behind a sip of her tea. but as the warm tea slides down the scope of , enveloping her with warmth in the midst of the winter, she can't help but feel the same—having grown up an only child, she had always been alone. at parties, she was awkward and overzealous, so not many of the prim and proper kids preferred her preference. in all honesty, the seemingly bright girl had experienced her own desiderium of loneliness. her gloss-smeared lips still purse, before she says gently, "you mean, you don't want to be my date?"
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 her choice of words were rather peculiar, distrustful in whether reading too much into it or let it slide as a mere tease "so you do want me to appreciate you more than I appreciate kina... curious..." there were instants he believed she truly wanted to develop something, were they still a couple of strangers? mayhaps this is just her way of being friendly with someone. she may live by herself but she seems way more capable of having friends, even though she claimed Kina was her only best friend. “bringing a dog to a party filled with alcohol?” Isaac couldn’t help but to let a chuckle escape his tiers, picturing the poor puppy lost in between drunk people dancing.
still having his hands covering his mouth, his tongue slightly mimics her doing as his orbs briefly fixated on her busy lips. “I presume you will. Everyone always enjoy things without me, you won’t be different” there was a raw truth behind his words, it’s not like any of his siblings liked Isaac’s company at the events. he was always in the corner with other kids, left behind like he meant nothing to the family. chewing on his lower tier, he leaned back taking a macaron with his own hands and devouring in one bite. “hope you find yourself a date at the party as well” in his words there was a clear sore tone, perhaps a jealousy that someone else would take her from him. he wasn’t the type to cling or depend on someone but she was addicting.
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 her eyebrow raises, a question in response to his comment, though a playful simper makes its way across her brims as she jests, “i hope you know that kina is much messier than i am, i hope i’d come before her on your list of possible visitors.” as he leans in the tiniest bit forward, revealing to her his antisocial disposition (as though she couldn’t have inferred it for herself, though she has, even with her limited social recognition skills), she blinks her wide eyes at him, fluttering her eyelashes. “i figured, but i was considering bringing kina. though,” vivian sighs, voice soft and lilted. “i guess nothing will convince you. i’ll have lots of fun.”
she doesn’t take offense to his blunt comment, only reaching with her free hand to gather a piece of the lemon tart on her fork and bring it to her lips. without another word, she savors the taste; like its name, it is tart, a hint of sweetness peeking through beyond its appearance. though the woman often prefers sugary sweets, today she had opted for something a little... different. perhaps it had to do with isaac’s energy, an aura of which she had not surrounded herself with previous. from that small bite, a few crumbs of the sweet’s flaked crust escape to the corner of her lips, and half-mindedly, vivian’s tongue darts out to gather it, before she wipes at with a napkin. “i suppose i’ll just have to have a fantastic night without you,” she teases.
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 Isaac's eyebrows raised in consternation, deep inside he was protesting with himself to why she wouldn't want to pay him a visit. giving her a fake dispassionate look "I wouldn't want you in my apartment anyway, maybe just kina..." eyeing his finger keeping his act but amazed by how he would be predisposed to have someone in his apartment. not even his lawyer was allowed in, Isaac would always pick some random restaurant for meetings, luckily he was 'neat' enough to clean his place at least once a week. "I wasn't going. I don't like parties. I don't like people." he boldly replied, it was more than obvious him being a loner and somehow it felt nice to just say it.
her daring placement awoke a side of him that's been anesthetized for years, provocative. hiding the small smirk behind his hand, he leaned in a tiny bit forward. "I doubt I would want to see you for longer anyways." his orbs fell unemotional, his cold self resurfaced naturally "hope you have loads of fun" Isaac didn't mean it fully, of course he wanted to go with her, not that he wanted to be around anyone else or felt comfortable to do so. being with her was almost as being with an old childhood friend who went through the same, so he thought. little did he know...
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 the dark-haired demoiselle bites down a smile, sharp incisors gnawing upon her coral brims so as to hold back the grin that threatens to make its way across her lips. the way he had so snarkily responded to her comment entertained her. it is interesting, how greatly he has changed in just twenty-four hours, not that she was complaining. “i don’t plan on seeing your apartment, mister,” she responds with a chortle, sitting down and sliding his drink across the table to him.
she watches as he nibbles on his thumb; that must be a habit of his, she realizes as she takes a small sip of her own beverage. “i was planning on it, yes, but i’m still considering. a party would be fun, but i still have some assignments to finish,” explains vivian. leaning forward, she mimics his pose and captures her chin in the palm of her hand. “why? are you?”
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 within two seconds he was washed up in miscellaneous emotions, a initial relief for being able to hold the tray safely but a secondary surfaced staunchly - somber - perhaps his lack made him eagerly addicted for the little he had just now. trying to keep his cool, taking a deep breath rolling his eyes at her 'attack' "me? a snob? if you've seen my apartment you would take that back so quick..." for the first time Isaac actually laughed, but under that ironical noise there was a dense layer of suffering.
standing near the table, he waited for the female to take the sit first so he could take his, his life might have been turned upside down but his manners remain intact. once he took his seat across the table Isaac's elbow craved on the table, resting his chin on the back of his hands just silently watching her. he wasn't doing on purpose but somehow the sunset rays from the window descending on the female mesmerized him. unable to contain a mix of emotions flowing inside, his teeth nailed onto his thumb. "are you going to the party tonight?" somehow he remembered the flyer about the party for the whole bellevue, Isaac was about the decline the invitation, but Vivian happened and fate suffered vicissitude
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 "mm," she hums, tilting her head in consideration as she contemplates his words. sure, some people would pay thousands of dollars for a bite of the most expensive caviar, though despite having grown spoiled by the favorable and overpriced fabrics that her parents clothed her in, vivian had never paid much attention to food. sure, she cooked well for herself living alone; but she had never been opposed to fast food. it seems that they are the opposite in that way.
still unaware of the effect that her mindless touch imprinted upon the man, vivian releases his arm to instead gather their two drinks from the tray—the last thing she'd want is for them to spill, and lose yet another drink. it would surely just be her luck. "i don't love the greasy food, but i'm not opposed to it! i like a hamburger every once in a while. don't tell me you're a food snob," she says, not answering his question but instead beginning to lead the way to a table by the window. "warm and soft," she repeats gently, simper biting at her lips. "glad my shirt made you feel that way."
his whole visage frown in discountenance with her comment, his shyness clearly washing away from that. "oh, no, no no no no. some cheap food are terrible and not edible at all. I really don't know where you've been eating cheap" Isaac glanced down unsure of where to place his hand, afraid to make a improper maneuver putting himself in some awkward position, biting down his bottom tiers praying to all the gods he didn't believe in to help him out this once. the best he could do was to distract himself with conversation "you love the greasy kind of food? you should watch your cholesterol!" finishing the purchase after her tart being selected, he watched as the employee quickly took care of the order upon seeing his card.
Isaac really wanted to look down to check on the shirt, but the prevailing circumstance made him jittery in fear, only fixating his gaze on the sweets. "it's warm and soft. just like any other shirt, even a dollar shirt would be fine..." he declared but knowing exactly it would hit him in the face, just like his comment about cheap food, cheap clothing was no different. the tray was presented before them, Isaac took a glance down, trembling he gently took it in hopes somehow he was able to not break the soft alliance. "where do you want to sit? next to a window... or?"
a small laugh leaves her roseate tiers, lilted and light in its natural tone. vivian would never be the type to hold back her laughter, perhaps even in the worst situations that do not call for it. "clothing and food are different. all food is delicious, regardless of price." still unaware of the natural connection that the young woman had physically created without knowing it, she purses her lips as she glances over the possible treats. "but yeah, mcfood sounds good."
she doesn't even have the capacity to recognize how the man's demeanor changes, her mind solely occupied with one of her favorite topics: desserts. "i kind of want a lemon tart?" she finally says after moments of deliberation—she had never been good at making decisions. her ochre eyes watch as he pulls out his card, similar to her's but it would likely have his own name on it. here they were, a couple of rich folks with too much money yet they chose to buy sweets from a streetside cafe, when they could likely fly to france itself for pastries. they are similar, she feels. "do you like your shirt though?" she asks, fingers lightly trailing over the skin of his forearm.
@『 ✧ 』vivian jung。 comparing to yesterday, being around this sparkly female made life a bit lighter, perhaps it was a fake sensation. mayhaps soon enough he was going to be swallowed by the raw cruel reality. for now, Isaac wanted to sustain this delightful dream of having someone to co-exist with. "mcdonald's? that's quite a choice for someone who forced me to have a fancy shirt?" pressing his lips in a thin lip and perking them unconsciously in thought. "I think we might get a few desserts here and then grab mcfood"
the sudden attachment made him gulp hard, avoiding any sort of eye contact with the female clinging on him. he could feel his face heating up, breathing patchy in panic, Isaac would never get used of being touch or held. "I-I-... which s-sweet do you want?" words arduously leaving his lips as his throat was a pure sahara desert, coughing once trying to fight the hysterical state he was in to gain some composure. Isaac turned to the employee and started his order with his latte, two macarons and her peach black tea, waiting for the younger girl to finish the order as he reached out for his black card.
@『 ✧ 』isaac hwang。 "mhm," she hums in affirmation to his question, offering a slight nod as well. "coffee is a bit too heavy on me some days, so i like tea. i was up all night studying, so i needed coffee, though." her explanation is concise, though the eloquent young woman could talk for eons about the most nonsensical topics. where he shares little words, she will fill the silence. she looks to him, the slight smile he parades upon his tiers catching her off guard; she had grown accustomed to his gloomy expressions that seeing such causes her to do a double take.
vivian shakes her head; she had never been particularly picky. "no, do you? we could get mcdonald's for all i care," she says with a chuckle. "we can still get our drinks, i think i need my daily fix. what do you think?" unknowingly, as she looks through the varied motley of sweets and treats offered here at the rather upscale cafe, she finds her hands wrapping around the circumference of his arm; it was a habit of hers, clinging to people.
