faq.
contact the entity if you have any questions relating to character creation, game mechanics, or anything else that needs to be further clarified. don't be surprised if your question ends up on here. this room will be updated every so often.
question, when the trial resets, do our character's memories reset too?
no, your character will remember everything that happened in the trial - every hit and kill - unless you want them to have amnesia as a way to cope with their current predicament. every survivor has a different way to go about it but they will somehow succumb to the madness. cycling through trials would realistically take a mental toll. hint hint why the welcome message talks about identity.
is there a reason why these survivors and killers are picked? or is it just random?
the entity does whatever they please and doesn't generally do things within reason. doesn't mean you can't give them a reason why they're stuck here. survivors could have done something terrible in their past. killers are here because they love to kill and made a deal with the entity in order to kill as much as they please. some have made alliances against the entity since most killers are individualists but they will be punished if they kill outside the trials. the entity is a sadistic creature and will not show mercy.
so our characters can come from different places and time periods? is there a limit to that?
not really! you can have characters come as far back as the renaissance period and even come from the future. just note the ghost town is stuck in present times, year 2021. as for places, as long as they're from earth then any place is fine. even fictional cities are allowed.
i want to ask whether or not our characters are aware of the game and its mechanics + how they were informed, if ever?
initially, they are not aware about the game mechanics. they are mainly informed by experiencing the trial themselves or by gaining advice through veteran survivors. you can have your survivor character be experienced or not, there's no limit to that.
