The Senate was established to govern the vampire realm, with high-ranking vampire aristocrats in the seats. Despite their demoted status, however, the Kuran family still holds the title as the highest standing family, and it is well known that there are many vampire families who would support the kuran family if they chose to take back the kingship.

There are 5 types of vampires, ranked according to the purity of their blood. The more diluted their bloodline by human ancestry, the lower their ranking is.

This impulse is similar to the impulse to drink the blood of someone a vampire has feelings for, serving as an unofficial way to prove they've chosen a mate. However, drinking the blood of a pureblood is extremely taboo and even the thought of it can cause other vampires to greet death at the hands of their fellow vampires. The most desirable blood to a vampire is ranked by a pyramid similar to the vampire's level race. On top is the blood of purebloods, second is the blood of human children, third is the blood of their most beloved person.

When a female vampire becomes pregnant, it takes 2-5 years before the child is born. As a result of needing to feed for two, the mother's impulse to feed puts humans at risk (more so if the mother is a Pureblood) as it tastes better than blood tablets and vampire blood during the pregnancy. The intensity of thirst seems to depend on how pure the vampire genetics are; in other words, the more human one of the parents is, the baby has less vampiric instinct. If a human woman becomes pregnant with a vampire's child, the pregnancy is actually no different than a regular human one; the mother suffers no odd effects.

Blood tablets are a type of substitute for blood, consumed by dropping one to two tablets into a glass of water turning the water blood-colored, they are also often ingested directly depending on one's preference. Blood tablets can also be ingested without water.

Blood tablets are originally made from blood cells. Vampires consume blood tablets to nourish them and control their blood lust. When blood tablets are not consumed, the vampire will suffer from starvation and will begin to grow weak. When a vampire craves blood, they will feel a dry, burning, and aching sensation in their throat. Vampires are known to quench their thirst for blood through blood tablets.

Blood tablets are not a real substitute for blood as they do not taste very satisfying. The Night Class students are known to prefer real blood. Vampires can also make blood tablets of their own creation. The old blood tablets were made from blood cells from multiple donors. The new blood tablets are made with blood cells from multiple donors and contains vampire blood in them. Blood tablets are kept in a small square shaped box or in a glass jar.

Some ex-humans cannot accept blood tablets as their bodies physically reject them.

It is usually only required to take one to two tablets at a time. However, exceptions can be made to those with excessive thirst.
