where is Lunaria?
Lunaria is a fictional city set in New York in the United States. That means the set timezone of the roleplay is GMT-5. The closest real-life town inspiration would be Potsdam, New York.
What is a canon character? Can I have one?
Canon character refers to any character already made/existing in a book, movie, tv-show, etc. For example, Draco Malfoy, Clary Fray, Jean Grey, Steve Rogers, and Dean Winchester would all count as canon characters. You may join as these characters. Using the original faceclaim for the characters is NOT mandatory you may change them if you wish. Refer to the species list for clarification on what that character would be classified as.
Do I have to be a student or staff member?
of course not. as this roleplay is also a city au you may have any job you want. characters falling under the age bracket of students MUST be students, but may also have a side job if they wish.
Can I use rooms in the Institute even if I'm not a student or staff member?
some rooms are only for those under mystiq institute. however, there are certain rooms like the medical wing and pool that are either used by the general population or open to the public. be sure to double check in the room to see if non students or staff can use it.
What are factions?
factions are akin to Hogwarts houses from harry potter. any age, gender, and species can be in any faction. there are only four and are mandatory for all students.
I want to be a staff, do I have to choose a faction?
It is not mandatory to choose a faction if you are applying as a staff. However, as most staff and teachers are either Lunarians and/or former Mystiq students, you are welcome to choose a faction for your character to have been in while a student when making their profile. staff and teachers who were too old to be students at Mystiq when they come into their powers and/or were not in Lunaria or another dimension, usually find out about Lunaria either through their travels or through word of mouth.
Is the Bellator a faction? Can I be in a faction and a part of the Bellator?
The Bellator unit is NOT a faction. It is instead a unit made up of 2 members from each faction. As such, you can only be a member of the Bellator if you are in a faction.
Can I have a species not listed?
For the sake of continuity, only species listed will be accepted. If there is a species not listed you would like to be, you may request one, However, it will only be accepted if the main admin feels it fits with the lore of the roleplay.
I'm a teacher, do I need to know about the subject I teach in real life?
Not at all! Teachers and staff will earn a salary no matter what so knowledge of the subject you choose to have your character teach is not mandatory nor necessary. Posts for classes and tests and even plots can be as vague or as detailed as you want according to personal preference.
How does the graduation system work?
Once you reach 2400 points, you'll be allowed to roll in the points room. If you roll a 2 or a 6, then you'll be allowed to graduate early. If you are 24, which is the student cut-off age, you automatically graduate once you reach 1800 points.
When I graduate do I have to become a teacher?
No, it's not mandatory for graduated students to become a teacher. They can choose a different staff position or one of the jobs in Lunaria.
What is an Outsider?
These are a select few characters that are from outside the border of Lunaria. They can be travelers and/or tourists. They will stay at the hotel and are not aware of any of the mythical things happening around them. When they look at Lunarians, the magic in the land allows them to be seen as normal humans regardless of their species. They are currently available to roleplay with a limited amount though this option is currently in a trial phase and may no longer be available.
