@sᴜɴɢ ʜʏᴜᴋʷᵉʳᵉʷᵒˡᶠ A startled gasp left her lips when she felt the male sprint past her. Just because she couldn't transform, didn't mean Hyuk had to go rub it in her face. "Show off," Meirris muttered under her breath, knowing full well his keen sense of hearing would pick it up. And frankly, she didn't care. Being paired for the sake of the mission didn't mean they had to enjoy each other's company. They were barely conversing as it was, except for the occasional directions.
She had a bit of trouble catching up to the male, but she finally came to a halt when he suddenly stopped running near a group of large boulders. "Did you find it?" she whispered, but realized it was probably faster if she just looked for it herself. Unaware of the other's sense of caution, Meirris stepped ahead, wanting to be the first to catch a glimpse of the mythical creature. But she should've known. Out from behind the boulders, the chimera leaped out, furious from being cornered. She tried to dodge out of the way of its attack, but moved a second too late.
The monster released a ferocious roar while blasting fire from its jaws. Its flames caught a part of her shoulder, burning through the fabric and scorching her skin. "Ack!" Meirris yelped as she doubled over from the excruciating pain. The injury was already enough to hurt a human, but her dragon half being averse to fire, was feeling double the intensity. All she could do was throw herself aside to avoid any further damage. "Hyuk, help!" she shrieked when the chimera focused its eyes on her injured body. Her ego would've been bruised a bit if it weren't for the fact that they were stuck in this dangerous situation.
@sᴜɴɢ ʜʏᴜᴋʷᵉʳᵉʷᵒˡᶠ Her footsteps were muffled by the damp dirt as Meirris tried to maneuver herself as quietly as possible across the forest terrain. The sun was still up, but she knew if they didn't catch sight of their target soon, the sun would soon be hidden by the tree canopy. The mission at hand was to pinpoint the whereabouts of a chimera running amok in upstate New York. How it got there, no one knew, but this was right up her alley – 'do not engage.'
So, she honestly could've done just fine on her own. However, the headmaster thought it'd be safer if Meirris was accompanied by someone more 'trained in combat' than she was. And that's how she found herself paired with rival faction bellator, Sung Hyuk. Just her luck. 'He's just a hunk of muscle, he'll only slow me down,' she thought bitterly as the two made their way deeper into the forest.
Hyuk had a hold of their map as she was in charge of scouring amongst the trees with her draconic vision. Her eyes glowed a pale blue as she tried to pick up on any odd heat signatures. There were your typical forest animals, but Meirris suddenly caught sight of a rather large signature dashing across her peripheral. "There!" she exclaimed, pointing off into the distance. Dashing after it as stealthily as she could, she hissed under her breath for the other to "keep up."
