there exists a tale that many grew familiar with. an aspiring witch, the youngest son of the grand duke and a young vampire who aimed to be a mechanic in his father's shop. the pair are best friends, always sharing their work of wonders and tinkering's, feeding into their curiosity of the unknown.
one day, they were out on a trip to the wondering woods, fighting a beast unfamiliar to them and barely coming out alive. the folks from illias warned travelers especially their children to always be wary of the wondering woods of beyond. there exists tremendous perils and creatures far beyond of any witch's magic and vampire to exist. the vampire used his strength to defend his friend, leading him to danger he never expected to come. vampires are known to have healing powers laced right through their veins. however, for the poison that sunk into his elbow from the fight he endured, his pale flesh was now devoid of purple and dark green. this made the vampire's system harder for him to function and heal properly, leaving the witch frantically seek for help.
the vampire was taken into the medical ward, treated by doctors and witches alike. they tried many solutions that involved concoctions to another vampire's healing blood to cure him, but no one was successful until his friend tried dark magic.
the witch learned behind his family and friend's back under a secret society who uses dark magic. it was a risk he was willing to take that eventually led both their lives into great stakes. the vampire died after a week with his friend following soon after.
both sides argued because of this, throwing blind accusations and defenses. the vampires blamed the witches for using dark magic on one of their kind while the witches defended themselves, trying to prove that their kind would never use such magic as it was forbidden in the city.
after their dispute, the magic council searched for any witches who used dark magic, to put a stop to their plots. meanwhile, the vampires grew to distrust the witches, fleeing to the underground and build their own city to thrive without their help.
ever since then, the vampires and witches have been against odds with each other for years. the witches decided to seal off the entrance between the path to the city of cruor (the vampire's city) and illias. but this didn't stop the vampires from using their own means to make their own entrance and sneak up to illias to steal some of the witches resources. they may be living underground, but the equipment they used will never last without those that were developed above.
however, if one witch or vampire would dare harm the other again, both sides swore that war will rain upon the sky.
