Oracle's Place

This is where the Oracle - the mortal host for the Spirit of Delphi - resides when she stays at camp. It is a luxurious house near the fireworks beach, offered by Apollo himself after the young lady have fledged herself for Apollo and became the new Oracle.

@[G] Adina Heather Stephen had stood up as well, worry clouded his expression. But honestly, for him, it was more than just worry - in this kind of situation, he would've decided to just leave his own predicament for later and focus on Adina. But at the same time, he had also understood that she had far more important things to do; finding the god and the camp director, perhaps, in the Big House,

"Okay, I'll... well, see you, I guess."

He doubted that was the last time he'd be seeing her.

[ Closed and moving? xD ]
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause A prophecy to a Roman demigod. It meant that the prophecy could be for this certain Roman demigod; or perhaps it meant that one of the heroes of the prophecy included this certain demigod.

It must be strange for him to see, huh, how prophecies are delivered to the Greeks. Well, Greeks can be a fine definition to creepy sometimes.

"I'm sorry," she sheepishly rubbed her forehead before sitting upright. At that moment it just seemed okay to sit on the tiled floor anyway. "This is the first time this happened to me... There are first times for everything, I guess..."

But Chiron has to know, she thought. Chiron /needs/ to know.

What she was about to do completely forgotten, Adina pushed herself to stand up. It will be rude for her to just shoo the demigod away but... did she have a choice?

"We'll have to talk some other time. I need to get to the Big House..."
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather "Um, that..." Stephen was at a loss, honestly. Uh, a greenish creepy ghost had just possessed you-- okay, no. Like, what was he supposed to say? Mentally collapse does not even amount to what he'd just witnessed, but anyway...

"I think... you've just recited a prophecy."

And the realization suddenly dawned on him that he was not supposed to be the one hearing this - he's a Roman, after all, even if he was a cabin counselor. Unless he was really supposed to be hearing it... now his thoughts didn't even make sense.

"You /kind of/ collapsed mentally, yeah..."
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause Who would have known Adina would have to recite her first prophecy in front of a Roman demigod, and in a way she never even expected? Admittedly, she expected she'd recite her prophecy in a more... composed way. She wanted to say, 'Please tell me next time if you're about to possess me,' or something to the Spirit of Delphi. Then again, at least that would work.

A hand clutching her forehead, Adina sat on the floor, rubbing her sore knees. Even she was in a daze herself.

What did she even say? She felt as though she was barely even conscious a few seconds earlier.

"I didn't just mentally collapse after tripping now... or did I?"

Had it been possible to smack the spirit of Delphi without hurting herself, she would have. Who would have known she could just speak a prophecy all of a sudden without a notice?

The least thing she wanted was to make a creepy impression of herself - but well, things can't be undone.
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather Actually, Stephen had never thought it would come to this. He'd quickly stood up to help the poor girl, but before he could reach her, he saw those empty eyes... and for a moment he didn't know what was happening, or what to do. Transfixed, he watched in an apparent horror how Adina's eyes glowed green, and the spooky voices that certainly weren't hers filled the room.

Forge, lightning, dove... hands of the clock...

You can't be serious, he thought. I'd just asked and... could this be the answer?

Luckily, the words were automatically imprinted in his mind even without him trying to; when everything was done, the girl was back to her slumped down position on the floor, and he /actually/ waited until she didn't move before he dared to approach her, kneeling by her side.

Well, one thing could be ascertained: Stephen certainly does not sit well with creepy spirit appearances. Not even if it's the spirit of Delphi, thank you very much. He'd already felt a major headache incoming.

"...Hey, Adina? Are you okay?"
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause "No, I can manage," she waved a dismissive hand before making her way to the kitchen.

Adina, unfortunately, could be very clumsy at times; and her accidentally stepping on her own shoelaces should be a clear evidence to prove this fact. And one would have thought her day couldn't be any worse; surprisingly, the day still had so much in store for her.

And for Stephen, too, it seemed.

Just as when she was about to stand up, she doubled, arms in her stomach as though she had been punched in the gut. For a few seconds, Adina drifted away.

Then came the presence of the Spirit of Delphi.

"Fire quenches, thunder absorbs, love turns into hate; Seekers shall find what they seek due to fate," her eyes glowed serpent green, her voice sounding as though there were three speaking at once. "The forge, the lightning, and the dove's powers unlocked; Three forces combined shall turn back the hands of the clock. Ancient lands shall stand as a battle ground, To defeat evil that remains unbound."

And her eyelids dropped into a close.
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather The remark Adina gave him actually made Stephen laugh. Intimidating, when he was doubtful? Now that's new. Then again, it was no wonder. He'd been told how intimidating his aura was, earning people's respect nearly automatically. To present, he tried hard not to disappoint those who had placed respect on him, and to be honest, the female sitting by his opposite was automatically included.

"Really, now?" He asked, a joking tone seeping inside his voice unconsciously. "I'll keep that in mind. In case some of the Greeks cower in fear when they see me: smile." Another soft, hearty laugh followed the joking remark, and he only shook his head. It felt good to joke around like this, something he hadn't actually done for quite a long time. Nearly all of the Romans respected him too much to even joke around with him, with just one exception, and he didn't really bond with Greeks more than necessary. Most leaders had a lonely path; Stephen weren't an exception. Not even if he wasn't the camp's praetor.

"Well, there's no need to treat me like a guest really, Adina. I think I've been more intruding than not - though I won't reject your hospitality. Can I help?"
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause Adina will always be fascinated with the way the Romans had built their system - their way of survival, the policies and all the likes. Greeks and Romans are so different, yet so alike. They were so organized, whereas the Greeks were... well, less organized.

"You know, you look less intimidating when you're smiling." Stephen isn't all that bad, after all. Well, none of the Romans aren't all that bad. They were cooperative, may it only be forced cooperation or not.

Why had there been such a difference in the first place, when their heritage are all the same?

The Oracle foresaw unity between two races a lot of times, but future are oftentimes changed by people's decisions. And she hoped soon enough, someone will make the right decision - one that will change things the sooner.

"Ah, silly me! I should've been more hospitable. Say, would you like a drink or some snacks?"
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather And it so happened that Stephen's fatal flaw was pride.

"I am but following orders," he stated, quite soft despite his usually stern manner. Adina was right, though. Sometimes you need to lose in order to win. The problem was that nothing is certain. But then the realization dawned upon him that this was the Oracle of Delphi, a maiden who had pledged herself to Apollo, the god of truth if nothing else... and there was a look of wonder in Stephen's eyes then, as he looked at her.

"You're right, though... the thought of attacking hadn't cross my mind at all."

It had been a possibility for him to attack her if he wanted to destroy the truce. But he didn't. Why?

Could it be because she'd trusted him first?

"Though I suppose I wouldn't dare risking the wrath of that sun god brother of mine by doing it, in fact."

And he only smiled a bit.

"Thank you, Adina. I think that we may be allies after all, if not friends."
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause Had Adina been in Camp Jupiter, she would have felt the same wariness. Camp Half-Blood has not served as a home for her as Camp Jupiter has been - and will always be - for the demigod son of Jupiter, even if she wasn't really a demigod herself. She can feel his discomfort, somehow, but not that much. There was still more to the man than just that.

"I'm not sure whether my words would be much of comfort but... the Greeks will lower their guard once you lower yours." As long as no one does that, there will be no one at ease. "Some aren't still approved of having you, but some of are willing to accept you. That's why I trusted you won't attack when I allowed you to enter my place." One thing for sure, Adina wanted the demigod to trust them.

To trust her, at least.

There will always be pride to keep two sides from truly uniting as one.
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather The statement made Stephen looked up at Adina in surprise. He was wary of them, true; but in fact, he himself had not realize that deep down he was also wary that they might not keep their oath. His wariness of Bijou had been more of the fact that she was a rival to him, both by race and by blood. But yes - she was right in her observation.

"Of most of them, yes," he finally admitted after a minute silence. There was Kristins, but that was another matter entirely. "I've never felt at home here in Half-Blood Hills. Camp Jupiter was my second home."

As it were, they were forced to get along, and obviously Stephen himself had never considered it as peace - it was more of a momentary truce.

"There is no peace found by those who sleeps in the enemy grounds."
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause For someone to be so eager to bring back time... Adina was curious. Could it be that, aside from his grief at his loss, he still had other reasons as to why he wanted to restore his camp? After all, these camps weren't just mere training facilities. They were homes. Havens for demigods.

Surely enough the desire to restore such and build a stronger foundation to their race will be reasonable enough...

"You must be very uncomfortable of the Greeks," she hummed, following his gaze. Obviously, he is. Who wouldn't be? For as long as they existed, the Greeks and Romans never got along. Not until they were /forced/ to do so. Which doesn't entirely count as peace - not to Adina, at least.

"You're doubting our loyalty; whether or not we keep our oath of peace." It wasn't a question; it was a statement. An observation. Adina always had a knack for observing people, distinguishing their feelings... (which gave her the idea that she should seriously be a psychologist in the future).
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather Stephen went silent for a moment. The titan lord obviously was not one to be woken up at the will of a puny demigod, not even a son of the most prominent god. And the thought of Cronus lending them a helping hand was laughable. He doubted his fate would differ from that demigod who had tried to revive Cronus himself...

"Can you... try?" He asked, unsure if he could actually push her further. It was, after all, a delicate matter.

"Actually, I didn't think this idea will work at all. A camper here gave me the idea, and... well, I wouldn't have come to you if I think it's plausible. She might as well be trying to get me killed."

Glancing outside, towards the beach, he still couldn't help but be wary of everything around them. It was strange how it didn't include Adina herself. But then again, Stephen had always trusted his own instinct.

And his instinct could be wrong, it seemed.

"I'd rather die trying than stand here idly and do nothing, though. /If/ it's really possible."
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause It /is/ possible.

In such a world with endless possibilities, how can going back in time be impossible? Thing is, will the Fates allow such a thing? Will the titan lord be able to help? And his reason... will it be enough?

She exhaled softly. Had she been in his shoes (a demigod and all), she would have wanted to do the same. An Oracle like her could only do so much. Her capabilities could only cover the foretelling of a hero's future (even this ability has its limit).

So far all she could think of was to give some advices. But even that won't be enough.

"Yes, it is possible, /if/ the titan lord will lend a helping hand - which, I doubt will be possible. I can consult the Spirit of Delphi but... I'm not sure if my inquiries will even be answered." Communication with the Spirit these days are rather being quite difficult, after all...
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather "You mean it is possible."

Well, it seemed he was wrong. Not only Adina did not immediately dismiss the idea, she actually asked /why/... the question now is, dare he reveal what his deepest regret was?

Stephen had half a mind to say the same thing he'd said to Bijou, that it was his own problem to deal with. But he just couldn't; first of all, strangely, he found Adina's presence comforting, and second was that it was him who had sought her for help. Was it necessary to tell her all about it? Yes. Most probably.

As was his brother, Stephen wasn't impulsive; almost everything he did was based on careful calculation of cause and effect. This was one of those.

"I want to undo the destruction of Camp Jupiter." The demigod said quietly, looking down to the pattern of the floortiles - he couldn't hold her gaze any longer. "I've lost so many, and it just... eats up on me from the inside every time I think of it. I don't know what else to do."
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause Adina was not able to mask her surprise upon hearing what the demigod has to say that, for a moment, she remain rooted in her position. Just as when she was about to sit down, really. Finally able to compose herself, she settles on a seat and places her hands on her lap rather uncomfortable. It wasn't the demigod, no - more like his question.

And the mention of the Titan of Time.

Why would a demigod like him seek Kronos? At this rate, one would have been so relieved that the Titan has been long defeated by the greatest heroes of their generation. But to know whether the Titan could be located now... Adina for sure wanted to know the reason why.

"To change the past will be complicated, you know..." her brows creased as she scratched her temple. "So will seeking the titan lord himself." The titan lord has been scattered, as far as her knowledge extends... but a part may just be somewhere. A part that radiates the titan lord's strongest essence.

"Why would you want to look for him?"
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather Right. Adina sounds much better. To think that Stephen actually had been thinking about how to address her - it seemed she read his mind, or maybe not.
Nodding his thanks, he followed her inside. The living room was spacious; he'd heard about the house being built by Apollo himself, and he couldn't help but think that the sun god really spent his efforts on it. Elongated windows let the sunshine in, and as he gingerly settled down on one of the living room couch, the demigod let himself inhale deeply and prepare; though when Adina asked him the question, his electric blue eyes met hers. There was no denying that Stephen was not acting normal for a Roman, for him to go to the Greek's Oracle - then again, her aura was not as disturbing as the Greeks. Luckily.

"I want to seek Cronus, the ruler of Time." He said. "I wanted to know if it's possible to change the past."

And he had no doubt that she'd deem him insane for this statement alone.
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause Son of Jupiter, huh.

For as long as Adina had been in camp, she had known a lot about the children of Zeus. They were natural leaders, due to their parentage. Unfortunately, there were only few of them, and none she had met yet. But a child of Jupiter shouldn't make much difference, right?

"Pleased to meet you, Stephen. I'm Adina. I figured its much better for you to know it than to address me as the Oracle."

Opening the door wide, she invited him inside. "Come in. It'll be more comfortable to converse when sitting."

With the gap that sets two races apart, Adina was aware of the fact that the demigod son of Jupiter must not feel comfortable around the Greeks - including her, since basically her being Oracle makes her Greek. But considering the fact that he came all the way here, perhaps after all he could make her a bit of an exception.

"What was it that you wanted to ask?"
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather So he was right by assuming that she was the Oracle, though it was still hard to believe. With how the Romans were, Stephen was always uptight; it baffled him that this girl seemed to be very welcoming, though at the same time her actions did the job of lessening his uneasy feeling.

"Stephen Krause," he said, extending a hand out for a handshake accompanied with a small smile. "Son of Jupiter."

Upon closer look, her eyes were distracting - like it held a lot of secrets, even ones of the universe. No wonder she's the Oracle, he thought.

And at the same time, he also realized that it's too late to turn back from his decision to ask...
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause The first question apparently made Adina smile widely. It had always been usual for the Greeks to have a young maiden as a host for the Spirit of Delphi - which gave her the idea that this man must be Roman, no doubt.

As to why a demigod - and a Roman, at that - decided to seek her presence... she will know soon enough.

"Yes, I am the Oracle," she let out a chuckle. Knowing Adina, she always tried to make things lighthearted (which might be weird if she just starts spouting prophecies all of a sudden, because as far as she knows prophecies aren't always so pleasant to hear).

She wanted to tell him that she doesn't bite, so as to make him feel less unease, but ended up deciding against it. "Of course I don't mind. But... wait, you must be...?"
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather The nervousness comes next, as always. And always too late.

Stephen didn't even realize that he was holding his breath as the door opened; he had no idea who the Oracle was, much less how she looked like, but he had actually expected someone... well, older. It was not an overstatement to say he was as surprised as the female herself.

"Are you the Oracle of Delphi?"

Suddenly, he didn't know what to say. 'I want to ask if you know where Kronos is'? Certainly she'll think he was mad. Wait, maybe he really was. Oh, by the gods.

"I, uh... I have a question." He shifted uneasily. "If you don't mind me asking, that is..."
[G] Adina Heather [A] 10 years ago
@[R] Stephen Krause Today was one of the days Adina thought staying indoors was better than to walk around, wandering through the crowd of demigods. Being an exception from camp activities, of course things could eventually get boring. Well, what can she do if she actually decides to join camp activity, for example capture he flag? Predict the winner? For one, demigod activities isn't a mortal thing to do.

Instead, she sat comfortably in her couch, a book in hand. Just as when she was about to turn the page, she heard a chorus of knocks. Who could probably be her visitor? Chiron, perhaps? The wise Centaur never failed to keep her in company whenever he can.

Much to her surprise, a pair of startling blue eyes surprised her upon opening the door. A demigod, no doubt. After all, she was the only mortal in camp.

Mustering a welcoming smile, she gave him a nod. "May I help you?"
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Adina Heather The Graecus' Oracle of Delphi.

Stephen had never thought there would be a day when he /actually/ come and pay the mortal girl a visit, but there he was. After his 'rendezvous' with Bijou, his heart was filled with doubt - both for himself and for the answer he wanted to get. Funnily, even without realizing it, his feet brought him to the doorstep - and after standing there for who knows how long, he tapped on the door thrice.

Kronus and Gaia. Father Time, Mother Earth - it didn't make sense that he got this kind of a crazy idea, even more so from his rival no less. But it was worth a try. For Camp Jupiter, for the losses he suffered, and for peace in his heart... he has to try.

The male demigod waited.

@Krystal Jung Suzy walked at a normal pace yet seemed so desperate to get to her house as soon as possible. A thin layer of sweat formed on her forehead, she paused for a second and stopped walking. It was cold. Yet, why was she sweating? She sighed and began walking again, wiping the layer of sweat away from her forehead.

Before she could turn towards the corner in which the beach lays, she heard a voice, a voice that seemed so familiar, something she will not be able to forget. Especially when the one who owns the voice is one of her priorities right now.

“Suzy!” The female voice said, Authority and Coldness present in her voice. Suzy closed her eyes shut. What was she doing here? ‘What a bad timing for goodbyes.’ She thought to herself. Mentally killing herself for not being fast enough to reach her home.

“Crap” She mumbled quietly to herself, slowly turning around to face the girl while lifting both of her hands in the air, as if surrendering.

“Hmm?” She asked innocently, looking at Krystal.

( omg. i am so sorry for the late reply. =.=" )
[G] Kristina Rose 11 years ago
@Suzy Krystal was bothered.

She was so bothered that she could barely focus now. What was she supposed to do? She was appointed as leader to the new quest—and she was just as inexperienced as the other two. How could she be able to lead the other two demigods, especially with the fact that never /once/ a child of Hades appointed to lead a quest, much less her? She don’t know a thing.

Admittedly, yes, she had always been training just in case this time comes. But she never knew it would be /this/ soon! She swore she was almost hyperventilating. Thank the gods dinner ended, and that no one noticed her sick expression. Well, she has this natural pale complexion though, so maybe it wasn’t that obvious.

What surprised her was that the moment the feast ended, the body of the Oracle and someone she just /nearly/ treated as a very friend, rushed out of the mess hall at once.

She blinked a few times.

Suzy… she seemed… unsettled.

In worry, Krystal decided to follow the other girl, though, quietly.

Finally being able to catch up to the other, she called; “Suzy!” For someone who wasn’t quite used to addressing people by their first name, that was a pretty good job. Well, at least, she thinks so.

[ now, this is crappy ; w ; hahaha slr sis ; w ; happy birthday to you, too ♡ ]
[G] Bae Suzy 11 years ago
@Krystal Ideas ideas ideas.. She told herself repeating it over and over, not finding a stop. She has to think of something that will help her see Krystal’s future. Or even Sunggyu’s or Yongguk’s. Which ever comes first. She was racked with stress and worry. But screw that. She has to do something, Instead of letting her friends risk their lives out there and die.

Die. Such a word. One word that is enough to crush somebody’s dreams. A nightmare.

After dinner was over, she excused herself and left the pavilion as fast as she could.

She can’t waste one second and seat around doing nothing. Not for the fact that she feels useless already. Nobody was leaving her again, ever. Damn. She sounds obsessive. But that was not it. Her goal is just to save her friends and nothing more.

This is not a game, this is between life and death. Was she letting the bad side win? Of course not!

She found her hands shaking as she walk towards her place. It was a pretty far walk. Her hands felt cold and sweaty. She was nervous. She was worried. She was hopeless yet determined.

‘There’s got to be something.’ She told herself. Only as she turned around to see two demigods coming her way. She slowed her pace and tried to act normal. Acting normal was hard as it’s ever been. Her look was surely not appropriate nor right to look normal. It was much worse than that. They looked surprise when they moved passed her. They reached for her and offered help. “Suzy, is there something wrong? Are you sick? We can bring you to the infirmary if you’d like.” One said and the other nodded at the other’s statement. “Uh, no thanks. I’m not sick.” She managed to say, chuckling a little. “I’m just sleepy i think.” She reasoned out. To her surprise, they seemed convinced and waved her goodnight.

“Phew~ That was close.” She sighed in relief, wiping an imaginary sweat on her forehead. She wasn’t really sick. And she wasn’t well either. Not for what was going on. It seemed wrong to relax at a time like this. The feeling she was feeling was indescribable. She can’t find the right word that will fit it perfectly. Crazy is the best she got to describe it. She continued to think it through as she walked. Losing her balance and stumbling every once in a while but finds herself standing up again and continues to walk.

( omg. it's crappy. i know. sorry. it's the best i got ryt nao. lol. happy birthday sis! ♥ )
