Inmates who want out early for good behavior or just want to settle disputes are able to use the battle arena. There are also times when inmates are forced into the arena for bad behavior and entertainment. It's typically seen as a last resort/drastic method of getting what you want in the dungeon because people who enter the arena almost always are told to fight to the death.
