@Sunggyu Somewhere along the way, Ailee realized she was being carried... those steps, the rocking she felt... the somewhat masculine scent...
The pain was overpowering her, but she struggled to open her eyes, and succeeded - only to blink once, her blurry vision only registering the red hair.
/His/ red hair...
"S-sung... gyu..." She whispered, her voice pained, but she didn't care anymore. "J-just leave..."
@Ailee "Ailee..." Sunggyu murmured, slightly shocked at the expression the other wore on her face. Her blank expression before she muttered out those words worried him and as she collapsed against him, he began to panic. Why the hell didn't they have a medical centre, Sunggyu didn't know. So, he picked her up with little trouble, and took Ailee back to the sleeping quarters.
(Sorry it took so long, I'm not as busy as I was the past couple weeks, so my replies should be quicker after this. Sorry again)
Ailee turned to look at Sunggyu, and her own eyes were already glistening with tears... of anger. But it wasn't him she's angry at; it was the cruel fate that made her life worse than death.
She shook her head, though her gaze was blank for a moment when her eyes met his. Her senses were shutting down already.
"Sunggyu... don't..."
But before she could finish her sentence, she collapsed against the male.
Sunggyu stepped closer to the girl, biting his lip in worry. She obviously was not okay and he couldn't just stand there and watch her. He ran a hand through his still tousled flaming hair and finally decided on what he would do. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he spoke,
"Let's get you back to the sleeping quarters." He said, a tone of finality in his voice. Sunggyu realized that he might be making her feel even weaker, but he only wanted to help. Seeing Ailee on the condition she was in, caused his chest to ache slightly.
Ailee felt like she was burning, and her vision blurred. Obviously not okay... but what does she do when things were like this? The worst possible timing - at a wrong place, in a wrong circumstance... if she was fighting a demon, she's a dead meat.
Sunggyu nodded to the girls reply and began to turn away from her, to wipe the counters down, just as her coughing fit began. His eyes widened when he saw her bent over coughing and he stepped closer to her, unsure as to if his help would be wanted. However, just as he was about to reach out and attempt to help Ailee, she straightened slightly and turned away.
"Are you... Okay?" He questioned, his hand still slightly reaching out to her.
(This took way to long. I ended up taking a bit of an unexpected hiatus from RPR. Sorry)
@Sunggyu [ Haha. I haven't even read the book from which character I'm basing Ailee from. It's the Infernal Devices series... while I only read Mortal Instruments. And... okay, take your time... ]
"Oh. Alright." Ailee answered, nodding. "Well, then..."
Her sentence was cut abruptly by the sudden fit of coughing that had overtook her.
"...Sh--"
Trying to held it in, the female Nephilim clutched at her chest, wincing, but she quickly looked away so as not to let Sunggyu saw.
Darn it. Just why the hell should this happen now!?
“Oh, it’s fine.” He said looking around the kitchen. There really wasn’t much left to do aside from wiping the counters down. “I think I might go to the library now anyway.” He smiled, hoping it didn’t sound like he was trying to get away from her because that was definitely not the case.
"Aside of making myself actually look presentable, nothing, actually." Ailee said with a wry smile on her lips. "Except going out to hunt demons, that is. But are you sure? Since no one seems to be around..."
Sunggyu looked around the room before turning back to the girl. "I think it's good now, I'm sure you have things to do." He said, smiling slightly. He didn't want to impose on the girl anymore than he already had. Though, he had liked having her presence around. Most of the time it was just him, ever since Zico had disappeared from the institution, and it was nice to have someone keep him company.
Ailee didn't dare to look back, though. It wasn't until she was done with the dishes - calm enough already - that she turned back, facing the older guy.
"Well... I'm done. Anything else I can help you with?" she asked.
Something in her system was starting to act up, but since she was pretty much distracted because of Sunggyu, for once, she didn't feel it yet...
Sunggyu muttered back a quick 'you're welcome' before also going to clean. He needed to keep a little distance between him to calm his flaming cheeks. It wasn't often that he acted like he had. 'I'm like a blushing school girl.' He mentally groaned as he swept the floor, something that really needed to be done. Throughout the whole time he cleaned, his thoughts kept going back to Ailee and he caught his eyes drifting over to her every so often. The one thing he couldn't figure out was why he felt so drawn to her.
Ailee's breath got caught for a moment when Sunggyu did the move, her face heated up even more and her heartbeats were going erratic.
And when she dared a glance at him... oh god. Sunggyu is blushing as well -- and just why the hell does she think he looks very adorable!?
She honestly did not know how to take this anymore...
"...N-no, actually, uhm... I should thank you." Ailee spoke softly, looking down again to rehash her emotions and to give them the space they both needed, obviously.
"And... yeah. I'll do this." She took both of their plates and the empty glasses, and headed straight away to the sink, intending to distract herself from the guy.
"Ah, no, it's still... Ah, here." He said, giving up on trying to show the girl where to wipe and leaned toward her to wipe the cream off the corner of hisself. However, after realizing what he had done and the close proximity between them , Sunggyu's face heated up in a blush that rivalled his flaming hair. He cleared his throat and wiped his finger on his sleeping pants before leaning back in his chair, avoiding eye contact with the girl.
'Well,' he thought, his cheeks still a bright red. 'That was embarrassing of me to to.' He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and finally muttered out a apology. "Sorry about that." He smiled, embarrassedly of course. "We should, um, clean up some."
"...Ah." Ailee blinked, getting his point, and immediately wiped it off with her thumb -- mirroring the place to which Sunggyu pointed his mouth at.
"Is it still there?" she asked, for there wasn't any mirror there which she could look into... and she felt a blush creeping up her cheeks. Seriously, how embarrassing...
"You have... Whip cream on your face." He said with a slight chuckle and pointed his mouth, hoping the girl would get the point. It was cute really, that she ended up with a slight mess on her face. In just one day, Ailee was really starting to grow on Sunggyu. She just seemed very, well, likeable and Sunggyu liked her.
That grin. Ailee could swore she almost blushed... and she immediately turned her attention back to the food.
The moment Sunggyu looked up at her, she was finishing the last of her bacon, faint traces of the whipped cream staining the corner of her lips without her realizing. Knowing that he was probably waiting, she quickly swallowed it down, followed by the orange juice.
Putting the empty glass down on the table afterwards, she nodded to the male as a sign that she was done, and she then stood up, intending to continue her cleaning job.
"You're welcome." He said, grinning. His stomach filled with butterflies from the anticipation of helping Ailee with cooking. He then turned back to his food. Once he finished with eating, he looked up at the girl to see if she had also finished.
Ailee couldn't help but wonder, though... he's most probably just trying to be nice. Since he's the first to actually witness her crying because of a mere dream for once...
But why does she felt it was somewhat sincere?
She could only smile at him when she looked up.
"...Will do... Sunggyu. Thank you."
Sunggyu smiled once she began to reply. "Of course." He said, after all he already offered and he couldn't take it back. Though, the offer wasn't just out of politeness, after witnessing what he had when they had woken up, Sunggyu couldn't tell himself that he didn't want to become closer with the girl. Ailee interested him, which wasn't something he would openly voice.
"Of course I will. Whenever you want to start, just find me" He said, looking back up at her once again before going back to eating.
Sunggyu's question caught Ailee off-guard, and she blinked in surprise, her hand frozen mid-air for a few seconds.
"Y-you would...?"
There was that tinge of uncertainty, she noticed, and her voice had it as well. Should she accept the offer?
But honestly though, with this kind of an intention... to reject would be impolite, right? And she somehow felt like she actually wanted to accept this offer... more than just for the sake of being genial.
"Uhm... Well, if you'd be so kind... I'd like to try learning."
She went back to her meal right away after saying this, finishing the rest of her bacon.
After a few minutes, Sunggyu finally spoke up, breaking the silence. "I could... Teach you sometime, if you would like. To cook well, I mean." He said slowly, a tone of uncertainty coating his words. It probably seemed like he was trying to not overstep her boundaries, but that wasn't the entire case. He was mostly trying to figure out if he should make a move that could possibly make them become closer.
Sunggyu patiently waited for the girls response, enjoying the meal he cooked for them.
(Sorry, this took much longer than I ha expected OTL and I know, our time difference is quite large. I'm from Canada XD)
"No wonder." Still smiling, Ailee took another bite of the pancake, letting the delicious sweet taste melted in . "I never really have the chance to learn."
She ate slowly though, looking at Sunggyu eating - luckily the male wasn't looking at her, since she couldn't take her eyes off.
And to think that looking at him eating like that brought her another sense of warmth...
...No way. She must be going crazy. Sunggyu was just another boy. Besides with how her life was right now... really, she shouldn't be attached. She'll only bring troubles...
Swallowing hard once more, she took a sip of the orange juice only to finally avert her gaze from the male.
[ Wow, our time difference... it's still half past 10 AM where I live -laughs- Alright, good night~ <3 ]
