Sleeping Quarters

@Sunggyu Ailee just... didn't understand. It was something heavy, saying he wasn't going to let her die—surely that counts for something?

Her gaze was fixed on the red-haired man's features, and his hesitation puzzled her more. She didn't know what this attachment to him was; she looked at him and all she saw was... a hero.

Cliche as it was, that word was the only one she could find at the moment.

Silence took over them, and between her now calming breaths, Ailee studied him; the runes decorating his nearly flawless skin was beautiful. The way his hair fell covering his forehead, the way he stood, hesitant but steadily calm. His long eyelashes, covering a pair of small eyes with an intense stare. On top of that, Sunggyu was one interesting person, aside of his angelic features.

But his answer was even more interesting... if it couldn't be called surprising.

She was surprised at his statement, for one thing, and she has no doubt Sunggyu could see it—but she didn't know why it warmed her to the core at the same time.

"S— Gyu, I..."

Funnily, she didn't know what she was going to say. Feelings—feelings that she shouldn't even start on cultivating.

Shaking her head in the end, she settled with a soft smile at him.

"Don't overwork yourself, okay?"

@Ailee Sunggyu paused, opening his mouth to reply, but shut it just as quickly. He wasn't sure if he should answer completely honest, in case the girl in front of him would be bothered by his answer. He looked to his feet, pondering on whether or not he should answer with his true thoughts.

A few moments later, Sunggyu looked back up and at Ailee, his decision made. "Because I care for you."

@Sunggyu Looking into the male's eyes, Ailee found no words to retort with - only confusion was in her own eyes. Sunggyu's words were like a promise, and she almost had no doubt he really meant it, but why?

She was still wondering even the moment he stood back up, and the words just slipped past before he really left.

"...Why? Why are you doing this for me?"

@Ailee “Ailee,” He said, looking her in the eyes and grasping one of her hands in his.”I’m going to do everything I can so that doesn’t happen. I’m not letting you die.” He spoke every word with a sense of determination in his words and he meant every single one.
Letting go of her hand, Sunggyu sat down in a chair and raked his hand through his hair. He was going to be spending quite a bit of time in the library if he was going to accomplish what he was now determined to do. Looking back at Ailee, he smiled.
“I’ll leave you to rest,” He said, standing back up, “I’ll be in the library if you need me.”

@Sunggyu On the other hand, Ailee had a somewhat burning aura after the intake, but she had nothing to hide. Feverish as she was, she was better off with the drug than not, that she can never deny.

"Sunggyu... you know it won't be." She said, gazing up at the male, her head propped up by the pillows. "That box is the last one I have. Besides... even if it is not, I'm bound for death. Sooner or later."

@Ailee Sunggyu searched through Ailee's belongings, taking caution as to not miss what he was looking for. He still managed to find the small container rather quickly even though he took his time and gave her a dosage of the demon powder.

After she had taken it, Sunggyu brushed some of her hair out of her face and smiled, a small smile, down at her. "Everything is going to be okay, Ailee. I'll make sure of it." He said, though he had some doubts, but he couldn't let himself not try his hardest to make sure of it. He had to try because he wanted to know what was in store for them.

@Sunggyu In fact, she had; the small container of the demon powder was hidden in her bag. Ailee had meant for herself to die, which was why she purposefully did not take her dose. She has been over this more than just once when she was young, but being in the protection of the Institute, she had nearly forgotten the intensity. Her pain tolerance was decreasing.

Yet, she never forgets.

But in the midst of it all, she just looked at him; the only one who had ever told her that sentence, whom she had cried over the illusion of watching him die, and whom now knew her innermost secret.

Kim Sunggyu. What will his role be in her life?

@Ailee Sunggyu's eyebrows creased as he finally connected the dots from what Ailee had been talking about. He had always prided himself on his extensive knowledge with anything that could possible pop up, but, when being faced with the situation with Ailee, he had forgotten most of what he had learned. The mentioning of the drug rang alarm bells in his head, but Sunggyu needed to get it for the girl before something even worse happened to her.

He panicked for a moment, not knowing if he could find it or not, but quickly realized that perhaps Ailee had some in her belongings.

@Sunggyu Surprisingly, Sunggyu's hands on both sides of her face seemed to woke her up from the illusions. But even then, Ailee did not know what was real, or what wasn't anymore.

I'm not letting you die, he said, and she could only stare deep into his eyes, though her own were blank.

"Yin fen."

Sunggyu was at a loss of what to do. He felt as if he could only watch as the girl in front of him wreathed in not only physical pain, but also emotional pain and he hadn’t felt so useless before in his life. He was horrified, but he knew he had to do something. “Ailee,” He said, not positive if it would reach her judging by the pain she was in, while holding onto the sides of her face. “You have to tell me what you need so I can help you; I’m not letting you die.” He wasn’t sure what she was talking about, but he knew they were hallucinations and when he heard the name Yanlou, he knew that it was more serious. He had heard of the demon before and knew that it was serious trouble.

@Ailee (I have been really busy the last couple weeks, but I will definitely reply when I wake up in the morning! I have been gone for way too long$

@Sunggyu [ And to think that it's been 10 days since you say this. Hahahaha. xD you must be a very busy person... ]

(OTL, I'll reply to this soon! I've been busy with school lately... I feel so bad because I always take so long to reply when this is one of my favourite places to RP at)

Ailee's coughing subdued gradually, though. But still, if it wasn't treated soon, she'll die.
The problem is, the treatment itself would kill her slowly.
Her iris had changed color to silver, reminiscent of the demon powder she had had to consume for years already just to prolong her life, and the lack of it inside her system caused the hallucination to begun taking over her - yet again.

But the pain was real.

And it was no longer Sunggyu that she saw, it was the terrified face of her parents - she was back in time, when it all happened.

"Stop... It hurts..."

She was laying motionless just like this back then, the poison of the greater demon that was forced inside her system working its way to incapacitate her, causing a similarly horrid hallucination inside her mind. And she could only cry as she watched - once again - her parents died in the demon's hand.

But what hit her more was when the scene changed, showing her a certain red-haired male laying in a pool of blood, a cackling laughter rang in her ears -- and she lost it.

"No... Not Sunggyu... please... let me just die..."

Everything was in her mind, but she had no control over it, and she knew not longer what was real and what wasn't.

And, what Sunggyu need to know would probably the name of this certain greater demon...

"Yanluo... I /swear/ I'll kill you a thousand times over..."

Sunggyu was shocked at how warm the girl’s forehead was and how he managed to not notice. There was no way that a fever that high came out of nowhere and Sunggyu was at a loss for what to do. Every cough that left had him more worried than the last, but he had to keep a calm disposition, he didn’t want to let his worry get the best of him and panic in such a serious event.

He was rushing to think of a person that could be more help to her, when Ailee’s voice broke through his worried and frantic thoughts. His heart stopped and it felt as if time had froze with what she had said. He didn’t know what to think, he didn’t know what to say. The only thing that came out of his mouth was a rush of air and a mutter of her name as his voice cracked.

There had to be something he could do, there just had to. He couldn’t just let the girl die if she really was dying, he had to help her in any way possible. He was drawn to the girl and he didn't want her to die.

(Hey, I'll reply tomorrow, I meant to do it a while ago, but I ended up not having Internet. Then, when I was going to today, an unfortunate event caused me to have a stressful and upsetting day. So, in short, I will have this done in the next 24 hours)

(Oh my, I'm having a little bit of trouble trying to come up with a reply. It's so sad, I want to cry. Ailee, your life OTL what is the character your basing your background off of?)

Honestly, Ailee just wanted to be left alone to die. Living... wasn't an option anymore. Not like this when every single second is torture... and since in the end she was going to die anyways, why bother extending the torture even though there /is/ something that would extend her life?
She didn't answer Sunggyu anymore, though; not because she agreed, but because she was again overtaken by her coughs.

But somehow, she knew it was lost. Sunggyu wouldn't leave her alone... why did her heart ache so? Because she knew in the end it'll all be in vain? Or was she starting to trust his words and she hoped, though deep inside she knew it was futile?

As Sunggyu laid her on the bed, a drop of tear rolled down her cheek. She could feel his hand on her forehead then, cold against her skin, but it felt so soothing she almost didn't want him to retract it.

She was coughing so much it was hard to speak at all, but at least she has to tell him this...

"S-Sunggyu... I'm..." Her voice broke in the end. "...dying..."

Sunggyu sighed as he heard the girl in his arms speak. There was no way he was just going to leave her alone when she was in such a condition. "Ailee, I'm not leaving you." He said softly, but his tone was still firm with her. "Don't force yourself to talk anymore." He finished just as they walked into the sleeping quarters.

With Ailee still in his arms, Sunggyu walked over to her bed and laid her down on it. He sighed as he looked at her. How long had she been able to keep what she was going through a secret? He wasn't even sure what she was going through or what she had gone through, by he knew he wanted to be there for her if she would let him. There was no way he was going to just turn a blind eye at what he say, but in no way would he force her to be close to him and tell him anything.

Sitting at the edge of her bed, he placed a hand on her forehead checking for a fever.

@Sunggyu Ailee could only smile weakly at Sunggyu at his soft words, but what was coming next was rather unexpected; she didn't expect him to compare her with himself, and she couldn't help laughing slightly -- something she hadn't done for quite some time.
"Seriously, Sunggyu..." She then fixed her hair - or at least tried to -before nodding once more to the red-haired male. "...Okay."
And she just had to add a soft "Thanks a lot." before following him.

@Ailee “You shouldn’t feel that way.” He said softly, still smiling. She looked so broken and he didn’t think she needed to apologize for showing her weaker side. They were safe where they were, at least, Sunggyu thought they were, so it was fine in his opinion.

“You look no worse than me, so, I think you look pretty good.” He said, trying to assure the girl that she looked fine, but like usual, it came off more awkward than he had intended. He awkwardly laughed before continuing, “Come on, and let’s go. I can make something for us because I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”

@Sunggyu This guy really can smile, Ailee thought as she looked at his eyes, though she quickly looked away afterwards, again wiping the last of her tears. Somehow she felt warm because of it... and seems like she should really thank the man.
"...I still feel like I need to apologize." She sighed. A Shadowhunter like her should not cry because of this...

"Oh, uhm... I guess." She then nodded in response to his question and slowly stood up. "Oh, god... I must be looking terrible right now."

Sunggyu relaxed slightly, he hadn’t realized how tensed his muscles had been, once Ailee had visibly calmed down. Though, he was taken aback when she looked at him. She looked so upset and he wanted to help her in some way, but he wasn’t sure how. All he could really offer were, hopefully, comforting words and a small smile in return to hers.

Sunggyu shook his head at Ailee’s apology. “There’s no need to apologize.” He said with a smile, his eyes closing to half-moon shapes. “I was already awake before you. Do you want to go get something to eat?” He finished with a question and stood from her bed, finally removing his hand from the girls back.

Sunggyu's hand on Ailee's back does fulfill its intended purpose, though. Slowly, the female quieted down, and she managed a deep breath before wiping her tears and finally dared herself to look at the red-haired male Shadowhunter sitting on the edge of her bed.

Ailee couldn't say she was close to Sunggyu; she only knew his name for all that matters, but this time at least she was comforted in a sense, and she was thankful.

Managing a weak smile at him, she swallowed -- tried to control her breaths -- before saying another apology.
"I'm really sorry... I probably had woken you up, didn't I?"

Sunggyu sighed silently. It hurt him to see anyone he lived with look so broken, but he was never good with comforting people. However, when Ailee sat up and he caught a quick glimpse of her tear stained face before she covered her face and she apologized, he felt the strong need to comfort her. Even if it may be a little awkward.

He stood and moved closer to Ailee. He stood for about half a second before finally sitting on the edge of her bed and placing a, hopefully, comforting hand on her back.

Ailee had thought she was alone at first, but then the soft questioning voice of Sunggyu's calling her name had proven her wrong. The horrid images of her past that had been her nightmare were still flashing through her mind, though, and for once, she couldn't help but sob silently.

Still breathing heavily, she tried to pull herself to a sitting position, but she buried her face in her arms to hide her tears.
"I'm sorry..." Ailee said in a broken voice, not really looking at the male crouching a bit away from her bed.
