〈 HUFFLEPUFF COMMON ROOM 〉

Minhyuk had always found the Hufflepuff common room to be quite cozy and with exams creeping around the corner, it seemed even more so than usual. The more scholarly of the bunch gathered in study groups in the library and most mischief makers, idle sloths and procrastinators spent their days jumping through hoops to avoid anything that so much as looked like a textbook. It was no wonder the space was uncharacteristically devoid of excitement, with the exception of a few heads.

He decided to take advantage of the calm before the storm and cornered himself near the crackling fireplace, surrounded by books, quills, and parchment. Though he’d had to move the paper products a little out of the way after he’d ironically lost his essay on the practicality of water based incantations to the flames. While a charmed textbook and quill recited to him the history of magic and sped across the parchment and slowly depleted his ink supply replicating the lost document, Minhyuk busied himself otherwise.

When he initially signed up for Muggle Music in his third year, he hadn’t been expecting more than an easy ‘A’ to help fill out schedule, let alone what would come to be one of his best and favorite subjects. These days it was unusual not to see him tapping out a beat against every surface he came into contact with using those curious but otherwise useless sticks of wood. His hands moved rapid fire twirling and thumping the sticks against the floor with the kind of expertise that made the movement seem effortless and the sticks seem more like an extension of his hands rather than a pair of alien objects from the muggles.
