Rules

we are individuals. unique beings that write our own stories with each step we take, every choice we make, every person we meet. no one's story is exactly the same but that doesn't mean that we don't experience the same emotions. the same waves that can cloud our minds and make us forget just how unique we really are - that we let wash out our colors until they're nothing more than faded shades on a canvas in a dark room.

it's why we all need a hideout. a place to remind us that everything is okay and there's nothing wrong with not being okay. 

the treehouse is our hideout, our escape to write the story we want to and not the one that the world wants us to write. together, we find solace in one another - a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, someone to share a lame joke with.

 

this is our place and together, with love, we will bloom into a wonderful garden under this sunlit path that we have built together.

1. please, remember that everyone's story connects here. but keep in mind that, just because you read it, doesn't mean that your character actually knows it happened. they must be involved in that particular thread somehow - such as a text, phone call, meetup, etc. you can ask those participating in a particular thread if your character can know about a particular incident.

2. we're building a story here together. no need to feel pressured about how much you write. if you feel it, let it flow. if not, please, don't force yourself. sometimes, as individuals, we just don't know what to say. please, don't feel that just because someone writes like three paragraphs that you're forced to do the same. all i ask is that you assist in keeping the story moving along.

3. at the moment, considering it's just a small group of us, there aren't any rules about hiatus or anything. there will be a room for hiatus notices so, please, just use that to let everyone know. you are also more than welcome to let someone else know but as long as it ends up in that room so everyone can be aware.

 

4. there are no rules about relationships, as in there's no dating ban. as far as the story goes, we are all friends already. i would just recommend taking time to get to know one another before really taking that route. but, hey, crushes happen.

 

5. please, be kind to one another. this is to be a peaceful, friendly environment for all of us to chill and be creative with one another. if you don't get along with someone in character, don't bring that out of character and vice versa - don't bring ooc into ic.
