this is something that has always bothered me, saving or keeping characters for your friends or significant other. and i don't mean you reserving a character on their behalf, which i also think shouldn't be done but that's another story. what i'm referring to is when someone is in a roleplay then decides to leave then their character gets put in a category where no one else can apply for or be that character. if no one is currently that face, it should be free for the first person that comes across and wants to be them. you shouldn't be saving or hogging a character just because it's someone your close friend or significant other was, you shouldn't be playing favorites and making special exceptions like that. after all, if you're going to do that for one person or certain people, that should be applied to anyone. as rude as this may sound, a lot of this happens with people who you know constantly leave and rejoin roleplays within a few hours or day(s) for no good reason just to get some type of attention or because it's a game to them. often people who leave a character for a few hours or a day with them and the admin knowing fully well they will be right back, so why did you even leave in the first place and why do admins play along with their little game anyway? the bottom line is, if your friend or significant other left the roleplay, they left and that character is now available for whoever chooses to claim them. your first thought or action shouldn't be 'oh let me make them unavailable because my friend or s/o was this character and they said they will come back or either of don't want anyone to take it'.
