Mild Roleplay Rant

Does anyone ever write for the stories anymore?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good romance myself, but it would be nice if people were more open to writing plots whose end goal is not a relationship? Like, I want to lore/character-build, I want to write about magic or weird sci-fi things, why is it so hard to find partners that are open to that? Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, I don't know, but does anyone else feel the same? I feel like what I'm looking to get out of roleplaying has changed a lot during the last 3-4 years, and it's hard for me to settle with most plot/rp premises nowadays, so yeah, I'm the one who's being picky at this point, lmao - I know. But it does frustrate me from time to time when I post non-romance-related plot prompts/requests, and have very few/no responses.

Feel free to vent, if you want.

I feel this hardcore. I only have like maybe 1 real plot of resl writing and ive known them for forever. I get the ocasssional need to just fill that relationship plot but it's nice to plot plot

magic *heart eyes* but seriously it's lore heavy and nobody wants that, plus everybody just wants to rp in a rs, like give me a real plot

I think I see magic rps open every now and then though ?

I think it’s not done as much because for those genres you’ll need some solid lore/stuff happening outside of the characters that you’d have to write and plan too

It's not just you. I know it's kind of why I tend to stick to the same few people because they love to build worlds and characters and stories. I have no problem with romantic relationships as long as there's more to the story. Like I don't think the end goal should be a relationship. It can either be apart of the story or the beginning of a new chapter but I'm a simple child. I just want to write and enjoy the experience. I always get nervous about relationships now because I feel like, once I get in one in an rp, everything else just kind of shuts down for me. I get worried that the significant other is going to get upset if I do one thing or the other and I don't like the excess drama or ruining the fun for anyone else. orz

i WOULD love to make stories with scifi action rping but it seems some people wanted to rp to get their characters a relationship. also i would love to go platonic between characters and wanted to imagine more storiesfor them but whenever im rping the best parts most of the people i would rp will leave or go inactive. this is really the problem im dealing with and i couldn't complain since they were also busy irl. i want adventure plots, actions, sci-fi fantasy and all with an ending plot with a fashion. im literally crying right now because what you rant for is what i wanted to say all these times. :(((

I love a platonic plot ngl --- I've definitely encountered some of that "romance-chasing" in roleplays, or places where if you're not their romantic partner muns ignore you; idk I think it's just rpr culture sfkbdglbhsd
