@Channie () Hm.. Either while they're still young, just after they retreated into the wilderness or the current time? It's my main blockage for these rps, haha, because I don't know where to start the 3rd pov off at..
@Channie (Ooh, it's a layout I made! D'aww. Anyway, am I replying to this whilst they're young or should we skip to when they're older like in hangouts?)
Kyungsoo got a little distracted by the stars as he ran down to the bottom of the garden, occasionally glancing up at them and then stumbling, tripping over his blanket before giggling and looking ahead once more. He happily threw himself to the ground when he got close enough, rolling through the grass and scooping the puppy in his arms. Kyungsoo was very happy at the moment, he hadn't had a friend before and he could deal with his chattering teeth once he'd gotten to roll around in the grass and look at the stars for awhile. Eventually he did get too cold though and he quickly retrieved his blanket and the food, crawling into the playhouse after Kai with a smile. He tucked them both up in the blanket once they were inside.
Now you see, fairy bread is an ingenious concoction. Usually brought out at children's birthday parties, it consisted of buttered bread and sprinkkles, the small balls of sugar usually put on icecream. It was Kyugsoo's favourite and very simple to make. Hence he'd brought it out for the other. The small boy gave an eyesmile before holding it under Jongin's nose, offering it to the other. "You can eat this right Kai? I made it for you....I don't know what puppies are supposed to eat, but this is my favourite food! It tastes nice, promise" Kyungsoo grinned, taking a bite of another slice himself as if too prove it, eating his own dinner as he hoped the puppy ate some too. Tomorrow, he would make something proper for the other. Kyungsoo would teach himself to cook.
Kyungsoo was warming up now, cheeks rosy from the warmth of both Jongin and his blanket and the child smiled happily, possible the most content he had been since....since... Kyungsoo shook his thoughts away, yawning a little. "Kai are you tired, do you want to sleep he murmured. petting the other's ears lethargically, wondering if puppies slept like humans did, he pulled around the blankets making a nest they could both curl up in. Kyungsoo rested his head on the blanket, his nose nuzzling at Jongin's ears occasionally. "Who's master? I'm Kyungsoo." he frowned in confusion before shrugging and giving a giggle.
Jongin flicked his ears in his sleep, furry stomach rising and falling in a steady rhythm, mouth wide open and tongue lolling out. Evidence of his light snoring bounced off of the thin walls before fleeting out of the windows in a whispery yell. Grumbling, Jongin rolled over onto his side with a light huff, the bond aching in his tummy as it yearned to be next to Kyungsoo in order to strengthen a little bit more. With another huff, Jongin flipped himself over again to unsuccessfully stay asleep. 'Kyungsoo..' He whimpered, the first thought coming to his mind and bypassing his brain-to-mouth filter. He wiggled himself to crawl out of the playhouse, sparkly eyes glancing up at the twinkling stars.
It was only a few minutes later than Jongin sensed Kyungsoo, seeing him mere seconds after smelling him. Tail wagging furiously, Jongin forced his fluffy body out of the playhouse and tumbled up to Kyungsoo, barking and yipping before quieting himself with a whimper. He had to be quiet, or else Kyungsoo would be in trouble. 'Fairy.. Bread?' Jongin tilted his head curiously at the name, though the smell had his stomach rumbling once it remembered that it was running on empty. But the nagging scratching of the hungry little monster in the puppy's tummy was ignored when Jongin realized something..
Kyungsoo was cold; the chattering teeth were a dead giveaway and Jongin could see that whatever the little boy was wearing wasn't helping. Due to double coats of fur, Jongin was comfortable. But humans didn't have coats of fur like wolves did and they were more susceptible to the cold if not covered correctly. Whimpering, Jongin gently tugged Kyungsoo towards the playhouse, wanting to get him warm as soon as possible. 'You're cold, I'm warm,' Jongin grunted, paw lightly stamping the ground. 'I can give you some of my body heat while we eat together.' He suggested, ears flattening and tail swaying lightly in the breeze. The dangerous breeze to such a small child.
'I don't want my master to be cold..' Jongin blurted, nosing at Kyungsoo's ankles with flattened ears.
Channie: With a feverish nod and a ruffle of Kai's ears, Kyungsoo was up and running clumsily across the grass. The tall blades shimmered under the moonlight before being crushed by small feet until the back door was slid open and Kyungsoo slipped inside.
"Umma! I-" Slap! Before Kyungsoo could even finish his sentence a hand was brought brutally down on his cheek and Kyungsoo stumbled backwards a wail soon emitting as he leant against the door.
"Where were you Kyungsoo! You were supposed to be back here before it gets dark! Not after your dinner goes cold! What were you thinking?" His umma's eyes were cold when Kyungsoo was shaken but with experienced eyes Kyungsoo could catch the flash of worry in them and he nodded through his tears. "I-I'm sorry umma, I-I" the woman sighed before letting him go. "You haven't been home once this week on time Kyungsoo. What am I going to do with you...." A forefinger and a thin caught the ladies nose before she retreated from Kyungsoo back to her room. "I'm going to bed. You're dinner is on the table Kyungsoo, it would have been warm if you were on time." And with that Kyungsoo's mother was gone.
Now macaroni and cheese doesn't taste so nice cold and with a wrinkle of his nose Kyungsoo disposed of the meal before placing his bowl in the dishwasher. Now, the boy didn't know what puppies ate, he didn't know how to make anything but fairy bread really so that's what he tasked himself too. He made a few pieces for him and Kai to share before placing the utensils left over in the dishwasher and sweeping up the left over sprinkles. Then feeling very proud of himself he ran upstairs to his own room where he could get ready for bed.... Or a camp out rather.
He changed, washed his face and did all his other bed preparation items before dragging his quilt of his bed and swiping up the fairy bread again before running down the stairs again.
Kyungsoo's umma slept like a log... Thankfully.
The boy then quickly ran down to the playhouse, although his teeth were beginning to chatter. It was cold at night and in thin pajamas and no shoes... It was very cold.
"Kai are you still here? I brought food... I don't know if puppies eat fairy bread but oh well..."
LernTuSpeel: @Channie [HIATUS] 'I don't want to go away!' Jongin audibly whimpered, sniffling and poking more of his body out of the little playhouse. 'Don't forget about me, Kyungsoo. I'll be sad..' Jongin sniffled, nosing down into the grass and dirt with glassy eyes. He didn't want Kyungsoo to leave, but he surely didn't want the other to get into trouble.. Jongin nudged himself up to Kyungsoo's cheek before he crawled back into the playhouse. 'Remember me!'
With a little nod of his head and a complimenting flick of his left ear, Jongin gestured for Kyungsoo to go on ahead. He trusted him.. There was no Kyungsoo would abandon him. Jongin could tell, that's for sure. Eventually the wolf pup burrowed into the playhouse in order to curl up and keep himself warm. Though, some things still persisted.. He was still hungry and thirsty and his stomach decided to announce the problem.
Jongin rolled onto his back with a huff. Well, at least he had shelter. And a friend. That was all he needed, all he had to think about as he eventually slipped into a delicate dream state.
Channie: Kyungsoo was going to get yelled at when he went inside, cause yet again Kyungsoo had been naughty. Kyungsoo wasn't supposed to leave the sandpit, Kyungsoo was supposed to come home before the sunset, and set the table. Kyungsoo wasn't supposed to touch any animals or talk to anyone.
Well he'd done a lot wrong today, and he was in terrible trouble. But he'd made a friend, so that was okay. That was better than anything. Cause Kyungsoo....Kyungsoo had never had one before.
How do you make a friend, when you can't talk to anybody?
Kyungsoo spent day after day trapped in his sandpit, making structure after of structure from materials that always caused them to fall down. It was lonely, and boring and Kyungsoo imagination tended to be one to run free and hence, so did Kyungsoo's feet.
It had all just been a bit haywire since his Dad left.
"What's that? That's just my umma's house, Kai. I live in there with her.... It, smells funny? Why does it smell funny puppy..." pouting softly Kyungsoo reached down to take hold of the shy animal again, holding him protectively against his chest as he snuck around the back and down to his little cubby. "And this is my house...appa built it for me, a long time ago.'
"You won't be allowed to come inside, umma will make you go away and I'll never see you again... So I'll go inside and once I'm in bed I'll come down again and sleep with you okay? I won't be gone too long.... Will you be okay?"
LernTuSpeel: @Channie [HIATUS] (Woah. 2 months?! I should be slapped for this.)
Jongin trotted after the child, Kyungsoo, rather happily and clumsily. Large paws kicking up dirt and nearly fumbling over each other as he teetered side to side every now and then. This was much different than what Jongin was used to.. The ground was usually soft and green with grass. But this was hard and gravelly and little rocks usually got lodged between the pads of his paws. It was a little annoying, but the puppy shrugged it off in favor of following the little human around.
As they neared a structure many times larger than both he and Kyungsoo, Jongin shrunk back instinctively. It was weird looking and had a glowing front end. What was that? Jongin didn't like it. Plus, it smelled funny. So many scents were wafting from the building.. Jongin had to paw at his nose with a small sneeze to get them away, going over to nuzzle against Kyungsoo's leg with a soft, defeated whine.
'Kyungsoo.. What's that big place? Do you live in there? It smells funny.' Jongin mumbled, gluing himself to Kyungsoo's side as he occasionally glanced back at the house. There was movement inside.. With a light snort, Jongin steadied his attention forward as they moved through the greenery, relieved that the strange smells didn't filter through the natural flora. But now there was another building.. Much smaller than the big one a ways back and with fewer smells. Actually, it smelled faintly like Kyungsoo and Jongin found himself pouncing over and pawing at it lightly.
'Stay here?' Jongin asked, turning around with his ears flattening. 'Will you leave me?' He whimpered, ducking into the playhouse and turning around to poke his upper body out of the entrance. Jongin pawed a little at the dirt and nuzzled his nose down into it, the corners of his eyes turning down sadly. 'Will you come back?'
Channie: (Soundtrack; Lunafly - Day by Day Instrumental)
Kyungsoo's fingers had passed over many items in the span of his short life. Keys, flowers, sand, plates, washing up gloves, mothers, puppies...fathers.
Small pocket fences and alley way walls. It was growing dark now, the sunsetting as the boy and the wolf pup, flitted along the path together, all rather exciting due the sudden arrival of each others accompaniment. But that wasn't what had Kyungsoo reeling.
"sorry".
It rung through his ears as a young foreign voice and straightening his head from the pebbles at his feet he gazed around, eyes unsettled until the fell upon the Matt of fur at his feet. There was no one else around....the puppy...
Kyungsoo's doubts where only solidified as the small black dog began to roll around and the boy dropped into a crouch, smiling gently as he watched the other get all tangled. The puppy wasnt just a puppy, it was a magic puppy. A friend. And Kyungsoo had never smiled brighter.
"Kai...Jongin....Jongin...Kai... Both are nice names" Kyungsoo smiled softly, cheeks puffing and chocolate irises becoming crescents. "But Jongin sounds to human for you right now, don't you think? You can be Kai. And we better hurry! I'm already going to be in trouble." and with a giggle the other set off again, running this time. He almost forgot to answer the question.
"Kyungsoo! I'm Kyungsoo." the other beamed as he ran along, arms spread out like wings and feet bounding over pebbles as e flew down all the back alleys that would keep away the questions of why someone his age was out after dark, alone except for a puppy his mother would forbid him to have.
But there was nothing wrong with Kai. Kyungsoo was sure.
He ran on, darting along until his house was reached, and instinctively curling up as he saw the illuminated lounge room, he snuck silently around the back, waving Kai along as he was all too aware his mum was home. It was then they made it through the gaping grass to the small white playhouse at the bottom, somewhat rundown, but sheltered all the same. Kyungsoo crouched again, turning to Kai.
"Is this okay? Do you want to stay here?"
(it's so bad. /Curls up)
LernTuSpeel: Jongin wasn't used to being lifted off of the ground, his safe haven. His mother lugging him around in her jaws didn't count, nor did leaping into the air to catch a butterfly or bird. Jongin whimpered and burrowed into the boy's arms, letting out a pathetic whimper as he nosed at the skin of the child. Jongin the boy's cheek upon being nuzzled, tail happily swaying in the air.
Home? Jongin instinctively looked back towards the fence but then remembered; this was a human. A tiny one. They surely weren't safe out in the wilderness where beasts of all sorts roamed, looking for easy prey to be their next meal. Jongin felt himself growl lowly and nuzzled into the child's chest once more. Jongin's nose took in his full scent and he locked it in his memory, his sensors, automatically.
Jongin was grateful to be back on solid ground, though he did miss the child's warmth. He was offering Jongin food and a place to sleep and Jongin couldn't possibly deny the offer. Actually, he couldn't if he wanted to. No, it was impossible, because as the boy was moving away, Jongin was automatically following him. He was like a magnet; a cute, big eyed bubbly magnet and Jongin felt happy just being around him. Maybe even happier than when he was with his own siblings.
Jongin decided to trot behind the kid, jumping and pouncing at flowers, snapping at butterflies (though when he ate one, he decided to stop.) and he even managed to bump into the little boy once, quickly sputtering out a 'sorry!' in his mind. And that's when Jongin tilted his head and began looking around. Where'd that voice come from. He looked at his tail suspiciously before chasing it, wrapping himself in a circle before toppling from dizziness. He whined and huffed, mentally chiding his fluffy extension by calling it mean.
There was that voice again, but Jongin got distracted by hearing the boy's voice. A name? He was sure he already had one. Two, even, one his father decided to call him one day while they were out walking. 'My name.. Jongin. Appa calls me Kai.' Jongin trotted up to the boy and gently pawed at one of his legs, looking up at him with glittery eyes. 'What's your name?'
(Ew what even is this. It's short and.. Ugh. /flops)
Channie: Kyungsoo waited patiently as wolf pup grew closer, keeping up his comforting facade and leaving the soft smile on his face. He didn't look to pleased to be leaving the meadow, but all the same his paws brushed dirt and he was soon against Kyungsoo's chest, the child's hands running over his ears
As the small pups tail wiggled furiously in the dirt, Kyungsoo couldn't help but giggle lightly, wrapping his arms around the pups middle as a weird sensation swept over him. It tickled gently, and brushed around the sensation of his mind, Kyungsoo didn't know what it was; but it made him feel safe and so with a smile he cuddled the pup a little more before scooping him up in his arms, other items forgotten.
The small doe eyed boy had a faint recalling of his mother just then, something about not touching dogs that came from outside the city. But there was now way such a gorgeous puppy like the one he had now balanced in his arms could be dangerous. There was now way there could be anything bad about this small animal and he nuzzled him appropriately.
"I have to go home, puppy. My umma will be mad if she's there before me.....and she doesn't like puppies either.." he pouted gently, thinking as he rocked the ball of black fur in his arms. "But you can sleep in my cubby at the bottom of the garden maybe? I can bring you some food and a blanket? Would you like that?" humming Kyungsoo placed Jongin down on the ground gently, gesturing with his head which way they had to go before jogging off. "This way."
Kyungsoo skipped and hopped along across the dirt track, spinning ocasionally and growing distracted by shutting flowers as he walked back down to his house, winding through the back alley of city streets so no one would question why a boy his age was out on his own. He regularly checked back however, to make sure the puppy was okay and not getting left behind.
"You know, you need a name puppy. Do you have a name already? Hmm..."
LernTuSpeel: Jongin hesitated at the boy, but he was offering help and it wasn't something Jongin could really afford to pass up. His stomach was growling, the sun was falling and predatory beasts who'd sink their fangs into him in an instant were coming out, tracking his fear. Jongin took another tentative step out, a faint growl of a lone, hungry wolf ringing in his ears scaring him. He whimpered, but eventually stepped out onto the dirt fully, looking back into field with flattened ears. He gave a soft whine as his stomach growled and he found himself walking towards the human.
Jongin thought he was funny looking with his big eyes and small stature. Jongin didn't see many humans and the ones he did were riddled with claw and bite marks. Dead adults. He'd never seen a child before and Jongin assumed he wasn't after his fur or his bones or whatever voodoo required. But, the boy was obviously aiming to touch him, and his mother didn't want a bonded wolf around her family. Jongin gave a pitiful whine for his family before he edged forward, into the arms of the boy.
His fur frizzled, the touch instantly locking their souls into one when Jongin nuzzled against his chest. The bond process was ticklish and he mentally laughed lightly from it.
But now Jongin had responsibilities.
He had to protect this human with everything he had. If one of them were to die, they'd become a soulless husk that walked around with no purpose. Wolves died faster, walking themselves into a pack of hungry opponents and just flopping there, going up to a grizzly bear and sitting in plain sight, walking into a crowd of humans who would shoot them on sight..
They didn't care how they died, as long as they would be reunited with their human in the aftermath, it didn't matter if they were torn to ribbons or had their bodies full of smoking lead. Jongin stood up to put his large-for-his-size paws on the child's, his master's, shoulders and his face, tail wagging in the dirt. His old family was no more, he couldn't return to them now that he had a master, but Jongin couldn't find it in him to care at this moment, because his master was just adorable looking. Jongin barked happily and nosed him; maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
Channie: Kyungsoo's stubby legs had carried him a lot further than usual today. Hair cut in a bowl style that was befitting of anyone at his young age and arms clutching at the worn teddy bear he carried everywhere. He was somewhat a little far from the sandpit, where he promised he would only go as far as when his mother left for work this morning. Kyungsoo had even sealed it with a crumby kiss.
But the sandpit was boring, and the attention span of a five year old was not a long one.
So instead, Kyungsoo had gone walking. Small hands grasping at flowers he had found and his eyes occasionally curving from their oversized brown orbs to half moons of happiness when he found something particularly interesting. His cheeks remained squishy orbs, waiting for an old lady to come past and pinch them as he found another wad of dirt to play in.
It was edging on sunset, and Kyungsoo's mother always came home after it was dark, so the young boy knew he should be leaving soon. But the prospect of earthworms was too good to consider so he quickly ran over, staring in hope of an interesting creepy crawly or a flower to join his collection.
It was there Kyungsoo heard the bark, and too big eyes raising he glanced up to see a puppy edging out the grass that laced the border of the city. Pure black and fluffy, that was all a five year old could dream about. But the puppy looked sad and it made Kyungsoo pout. He quickly abadoned his other things and shuffled a little closer, kneeling down in the dirt with his arms open wife and comforting.
"Hey little puppy..." he mumbled gently, tilting his head in a soft manner. "Do you need some help? Kyungsoo will save you. I won't hurt you. Pinky promise". He kept his arms open; small, warm and inviting.
(I have a five year old sister, this age level is easy for me to relate too hahha)
LernTuSpeel: Jongin was different. His mother could see it, his father noticed it and his siblings envied him. Jongin was naturally bigger than the other pups, his eyes glowed brighter, he had better reflexes, he was faster, stronger.. He was a born alpha. As a young pup, Jongin was adventurous like his father and followed him out of the cave one day, happily and carelessly prancing along. He chased butterflies, pounced small bunnies (though he let them go) and tumbled into flowers. His father said nothing, just trotted ahead, and Jongin, too busy apologizing to a bunny he hurt, lost him.
"Appa?" Jongin whimpered, turning in full circles as he tried to locate the dappled wolf. "Appa!" Still only four years old (human years), Jongin couldn't howl; only let out squeaky barks. Jongin sniffed desperately for his dad, but was unable to pinpoint his scent. So, Jongin risked everything and ran to where he thought his dad had gone, but little did Jongin know he was heading in the completely opposite direction.
Hours passed and the sun was beginning to set as Jongin padded along slowly. He was hungry, lost and sad. He didn't know what part of the forest he was in, just that the branches were scary looking and he didn't like crickets or those hooting birds he couldn't see. He eventually came into a field of towering grass, much like the one near the cave he lived in, and perked up. So, Jongin ran.
"Appa, appa! Ummaaa!" Jongin barked and skipped, but his merry mood came to an abrupt stop when he was faced with a tall wooden fence post. His mother had told him stories about humans living beyond these posts and Jongin felt his heart break. He was miles away from home and there was no way he could make it back by nightfall. He was in danger; he had to find shelter before the sun set. So, Jongin stepped through the tall grass and between the fence bars where he saw a boy a few meters away. He hesitated.
"Never go near a human, Jongin, and don't ever let one touch you. You'll be bonded and you won't be able to come back here." His mother warned once when they were eating.
"Okay, umma." Jongin whimpered; his tummy growled and he gave a soft sigh before letting out a pathetic bark to draw attention to himself, stepping out onto the dirt.
