@Channie Jongin swiveled in his chair as Chanyeol walked up to the white board, leg crossing over his knee and palm propping his head up. "The same acid burns, right? I'd go with either sulfuric acid or possibly hydrofluoric acid.. Maybe even lye. But I'm going to go with sulfuric; it's easier to obtain and I don't think this killer is a scientist with access to chemicals like the other two. Or killers. One handled the other victim differently.." Jongin supplied, picking up a pencil to chew on lightly. "One thing is for sure, though; these people are sick and twisted." Jongin swiveled around again and leaned back this time, eyes heading straight for the folders.

"The crime scenes; we need to check them and all around them. Someone was bound to hear something, right? This girl.. She was probably carrying a purse or something, had to be. It wasn't recovered, however.. Too bad the only close body of water is the Han river. Whatever she had is gone by now. The kit was useless; there were no leftover stains anywhere on the scene. And like you said, no tearing or struggle.. The girl wasn't . Neither were the men." Jongin blasted out, tossing his pencil up into the air. He sighed.

"So we have two killers; one inspired my Salvador Dali and the other Jack the Ripper. I think they're in cahoots with one another. Look at the body on the third guy. It's not as puzzled as the girl's; he was just brutally killed." Jongin got up from his spot to put his palms on Chanyeol's shoulders, rolling them out with a massage. "Isn't it odd that even though we went to bed early last night, we still woke up late and lethargic? We didn't do anything in the middle of the night, did we?" Jongin draped himself over Chanyeol lazily and pecked his cheek, sighing once more as he looked at the folders. These cases were going to be something..

( Ed Sheeran - Gold Rush
So much writers block, excuse the this is. )

Chanyeol frowned as the other threw the file down on the other's desk, sensing the other's distress he quickly sought out his husband, hands rubbing soothing circles across his shoulder blades. As he made sure the other was calm and aware of his presence, he peered over at the pictures, eyes widening at the images displayed there. "Woah..." Chanyeol was totally in awe, his hand reaching out to drag the file over in curiosity. He couldn't decide if he was excited, because this was the most artistically gruesome murder case he'd seen yet, but then again this was an innocent person now dead; a person with friends and family... Chanyeol was so conflicted, and he hesitantly brushed back his curls as he flipped the page, reading the extra information.

Mind starting to tick, the redhead hummed and gave Jongin's shoulder a final squeeze before sweeping up a whiteboard marker and heading to the wall mounted board. Chanyeol had to write if he wanted Jongin to keep up with his thoughts, his mind ran too quickly even for himself sometimes.

"Alright, so. Victim number one, the one ressembling a puzzle? She has been murdered in an awfully similar style to victim number three... ?" Chanyeol hummed, grouping the two names together on the board and placing the other apart from it. "I reckon these two are by the same person, the other less likely. It's gruesome... no as artistic..." Chanyeol turned around to face Jongin again, looking for confirmation on his theory. Sure he had no proof, but intutition was everything if you wanted to solve a tricky case...and there really had been a lot lately. "They were all in the same rough timeframe, and they all have the same acid burns... so we really can't cross out that these aren't connected yet..." Chanyeol frowned, tapping his marker against his lips. "And then there's obviously the kit performed.. but there doesn't seem to be struggle, tearing or what not. We are outside a club...these are probably a couple... or a one night couple. I doubt this kid is the murderer, there's not enough left of him...."

"Other than that, I annoyingly woke up to late to help with the autopsy" Chanyeol made his way back to his chair again, pouting as he flicked through the files again. He had really wanted to help with that, especially with the post-mortems so... intricate. He'd just have to look at the pieces later. "Other than that. There's the crimescene."

LernTuSpeel: The other two he assumed were going to be an eventual fling, recalling how they slipped in and out of the bathroom together. Or, so he thought. The female suddenly flipped the man off and stomped away, her accessories clinging obnoxiously in the dead of night. Bloody silence. The burly one laughed at the other and walked the opposite way, meeting Kai's piercing eyes as he walked by. Kai clicked his tongue and decided to make his move. Their night was pretty.. Uneventful so far.

"Hey there, why the long face? Tonight's a night to be happy, neh?" Kai slithered to the rejected man, casually putting an arm around his shoulders. He shot him a smile, one that meant nothing good, and began to walk him. Kai had this ability to pull people in a trance, and he thoroughly believed it was due to his looks. Women found him drop y, men found him feminine looking enough to their uality in the .

Eyes.

That's what Tao told him. He said Jongin had pretty, gorgeous eyes one night after a joint kill, the two attacking each other in a fit of deadly lust once they reached home.

Kai led the man down the street with Tao, smirking when they neared an alley. He shot Tao a swift look for confirmation before turning the tables. Kai used the blade he had earlier and plunged it into the man's neck. He knew where the voice box was located, knew how to disable speech ability, and so he did. He loved the look of absolute terror and pain already washing over the man. The poor man couldn't talk, so he settled for scrambling helplessly at his neck, blood gushing out over the knife. Kai shoved the man into the alley and gave a sinister, beastly smile, nearly pouncing on his new prey.

--*

"Good God, Chanyeol, look at this one.. He's.. /It's/ not even identifiable as a body." Jongin had to clamp his eyes shut after opening their third folder, the picture nearly causing him to expel everything he had in his stomach, which was only coffee at the moment. Jongin knew from the start this would've been a nasty job, people telling him he'd have nightmares of the victims and scenes he saw, but Jongin didn't mind.

He was with Chanyeol, after all, and the two worked together harder than most. Chanyeol's quick wit could piece together nearly any crime, and Jongin would execute the paperwork and file everything. Cases were solved quickly with them, and jealousy began to bubble from co-workers until their boss decided it'd be safer to give them their own office.

It's just, seeing this.. This mangled, shredded, skinned corpse made Jongin a little uneasy. He was glad they had cars, or he'd have made their office a second home out of sheer fear of being attacked by these ruthless killers. Jongin wanted his body recognizable at his funeral, and that was something this person just wasn't good at. There were deep cuts all around the body, large gashes and tears that showed bone. The skin appeared non-existent, red and raw. The man had his eyes gouged out, tongue split, cheeks split, ears sectioned. He was scalped, skull showing with a jagged heart engraved messily. His upper lip was pulled over his nose and pinned there with thread, his bottom stretching down to his collarbone and pinned as well..

--*

"You finish him off," Kai hissed through threading a needle, "I'll get that before she gets too far." Kai swiftly bonded the skin with a dissolving thread, pocketing the rest. He leaned over towards Chanyeol, Tao, and at his bottom lip before kissing him, leaving him a hushed 'See you tonight.' dancing on his lips before departing the scene. The timing was impeccable; not a soul was wandering around to spot him. Kai smirked as he headed in the direction the girl went, looking like the normal late night clubber.

Except this partygoer had the reaper's touch.

LernTuSpeel: Jongin and Chanyeol had always been two peas in a pod.

Kai and Tao had always loved the idea of seeing who could kill a person best. Their primary targets were women, sans pregnant and teenage ones, and overly feminine men who gave them a bad name.

It was strange how they met, really. They weren't childhood friends, high school enemies, cubby buddies.. No. They'd lived on the same street, across from each other, their entire lives. Sure, they waved every now and then to each other on the rare occasions that didn't involve school, but that was it. Jongin may have had the looks, but he didn't have the right attitude for being the school's playboy; he was, in actuality, rather shy and preferred to stay hidden in the shadows of the background. He didn't like too much attention, it made him a nervous wreck.

Jongin's life was average. Kind of. He noticed, that with time, his parents avoided him along with his family slowly joining the bandwagon. It got to the point that they would leave for the entire night, locking the doors and windows before scurrying away. Jongin got used to seeing less of his mom, used to seeing his dad flinch and jump at his appearance and used to their dog cowering and snarling at him from a corner. He began to think it was normal after a while.

In school, Jongin, for some reason, began to see more of Chanyeol. Was it due to the sudden growth spurt that seemed to happen overnight? Or was it the mop of red curly hair? Jongin didn't know, but he soon began to look forward to seeing Chanyeol each day, anticipating the moment he'd see him. After all, he was the only one who didn't avoid him like the plague or throw himself onto Jongin. Chanyeol was just stationed at a neutral distance.

Everything started off, surprisingly good, when Jongin accidentally bumped into the taller male one day at the age of 12 during school.

--*

"Morning, Channie," Jongin smiled, stealing a quick kiss on the lips from his husband. "Didn't get enough sleep either?" Jongin inquired, noticing Chanyeol's voice was an octave deeper than normal. He was sure they went to sleep at a decent time- an hour earlier than usual -but they both just seemed.. Tired. Oh well, they can't take any naps for at least six hours, so there was nothing they could do.

Jongin pouted a little at having some of his coffee stolen, but he was used to it by now and jutting out his bottom lip like a child when it occurred was a natural response to it. "Three murders during the time that we were asleep. Mine seemed to occur on the west side," Jongin swiveled in his chair to take the third folder Chanyeol was holding onto.

"And it wasn't pretty. Female, early to mid twenties judging by her.. body. Well, what was left identifiable, that is. Typical long hair, pale skin. There were signs of an obvious futile struggle and suspected due to kit performed. The assailant was suspected, but the DNA matched that of.. I'm guessing this guy, since it has victim suspect."

Jongin poked at the third folder, not exactly wanting to open it just yet. Whoever, or whatever, killed these people must have known them for some time, or at least followed them closely that night. It was strange, really, and it was appalling. These cases had been popping up quite often, along with others, but Chanyeol and Jongin just couldn't put these together.

They couldn't find the killer. Or killers.

"Tao." Kai sneered, at the cold metal of his blade, the two leaning against the wall of a nearby club. Kai purposefully cut his tongue a little, sticking the muscle out at his partner just to , knowing he liked the appearance of the copper smelling substance, and roughly pulled him into a kiss that was anything but gentle. Kai smirked, that devilish upward tilt of his lip, and nodded his head towards his right. There were three people, two males and one female, talking casually. Kai remembers the burly looking man clearly, the idiot attempting to get him alone in the dirty bathroom of the club just moments ago.

Channie: Chanyeol had always liked red. He'd always like the fact that it just flashed danger into a human's eyes, how it symbolised for them to stop. How they obeyed without further command.

How it resembled the dewy petal of a rose.

Red had always appealed to him in a strange sense of urgency. But really he had found as his puppeteered arms dug into the fleshy wound of an innocent passerby, it dawned that, it was /Tao/ who liked red.

He liked to feel it, to see it dripping sadistically from his annoyingly gloved hands. Hands which Kai made him cover to avoid leaving a trace. He liked to leave a trail of spots down the alley way he'd slain the person. A trail of petals.

"So you can find you're way home".

He liked to spray it all over the walls, to watch it pool beneath his gurgling victim. He liked to see the red, and every time he re-awoke to a world of black and white, that's what he sought.

That's what Tao wanted. That's what Chanyeol unknowingly gave.

And that's what left a droopy happy virus in the morning.

--

It wasn't unusual that Chanyeol was late to work, he was just a disorganised person. And despite the fact he lived alone with his more organised husband, Chanyeol was still always left stumbling through the station door with his curls askew and the clock ticking fifteen minutes past the time he had sought to be there.

He bowed in apology, again, before pulling his jacked off his shoulders and folding it in his arms as he reached the ofice he shared with none other than Kim... /Park/ Jongin.

As the sleek door swung open, Chanyeol quickly placed his apparel on the hook behind it before sauntering over not to his desk, but Jongin's; a contented and yet rather dopey smile gracing his face as he pressed his lips against Jongin's cheek. "Morning Babe" he mumbled gently, his voice laced with the sleep he had somehow not received despite his early hour of rest.

He moved again, seating himself atop his desk as his hands grasped for the file. Old cases, oh what fun. Chanyeol hated paperwork... and it was rather easy to tell just judging by the lack of it he seemed to get done. Organising could wait until later, cause Chanyeol had his mind to work with now, and he wondered if the grin he held could've been considered as "sick" as he flipped the new file open.

This case was definitely..... interesting. The victim was unidentified, Chanyeol read that much before he grew too distracted by the picture below; His eyebrows furrowing and his arms holding out the case file so he could twist it at different angles. "Is that even a human?" he mumbled with a cringe before bringing it back to his lap again.

Deep gushing and now blood cleaned cuts littered the form so badly it was unrecognisable as humanoid, just a piece of pale, tattered meat, eaten away by acid and chanyeol winced a little as he realised where all the missing blood was-

All over the crime scene.

Dripping off walls, pooling on the ground, left in a sickly trail of splatters from the alley way entrance.

Chanyeol flipped a few more pages before pouting at it and resting it back in the table, his eyes blinking sleepily before glancing over at Jongin,
"Is yours just as bad?" he mumbled with a cringe, before climbing off his desk and into his chair, shaking his head to remove the drowsiness before rolling down so he was beside Jongin, snatching the third case on his way, and stealing a sip of the other's coffee. He chuckled.

This was going to be a tricky one.... But Chanyeol always enjoyed a challenge... Even if there was three of them.

"So...." he threw the other two cases down beside Jongin, and spun around in his chair once. "Three murders, in the one night in a similar time frame and area...related?" he hummed gently in thought.

--
Blood curdling screams wetr cut back by Tao's whitening hand, the stout man's face turning red and soonpurple, and as his eyes began to topple backwards, Tao let him have a breath, it wheezing through his lungs as unsheathed a knife his inner self didn't know he owned.

It plunged, it carved, it traced lines, it ballooned shapes, until all that Tao could see what red, and he let out a gurggled cackle, puppeteering Chanyeol to plunge the metal some more.

It was all weeping slices and lantern making of flesh, before Tao grow weary and began to dispose of evidence, ridding traces or identification in a similar way he knew Kai was doing across town.

And items disposed and figure drenched in blood, he crept home to his partner through the darkness of shadows, hiding the sadistic smirk that graced on his mop of blood heavy curls.

LernTuSpeel: "Jongin, you and Chanyeol need to sort through your cases. Also, there were three murders last night, the detailed folders are in your office." Is what greets Kim Jongin in the morning at 6 am, birds declining to chirp as crickets continue to play their song. An encore, the crows squawk. Jongin nods in response, slipping his hand into his pocket to fish out the key to the office he shares with his husband, and sometimes wife, Chanyeol, who's also his partner in the scene.

Jongin takes a sip of the coffee he has in his other hand, creamy and sugary, just how he likes it. Black with no sugar makes him cringe with its bitterness and he doesn't see how people can drink it. Jongin closes the mahogany door behind him, the frosted glass window having their names lasered, and walks over to his desk. Jongin can't help but smile as he sees the three folders and their positions; one on Chanyeol's desk, one on his and the third smack dab in the middle, right where they're joined.

Jongin slips into the chair and sets his drink down, flipping open the thick manila cover. The victim is female, age 24, but her identity is unknown. Jane Doe. Jongin raises an eyebrow and reads on. She was killed last night, estimated time around...

"Help me, someone! Get away from me, you monster!" A woman cries, running as fast as she can under the periodic beams of yellow light pouring from the lamp posts. She looks back and trips, in the darkness, and her purse skids away. Someone across the street opens their window and, the woman, thinking she's saved, opens to scream once more. A cold hand claps over and she's dragged into the pitch black alley behind her, knees scraping against cement and forgotten glass shards.

The window closes.

"Killed at around 1 am.. There were reports of her screaming." Jongin flips the page, and sighs. She has no face; it's been cut away. The outlines resemble a puzzle and various pieces are missing: one eye, her lips, both eyelids, eyebrows. Her hands are open and positioned near her head and Jongin can see acid burns. Her remaining eye has a letter engraved into the iris but he can't make out which one, to be exact.

"Please, no, don't me!" She sobs, and a dangerously suave voice laughs.

" you? No, sorry, you got the wrong person. Sorry to disappoint you." Is the reply and she trembles as she's flipped onto her back, glass and jagged rock digging into her skin through flimsy material. There's a sound akin to a dagger being pulled out and she begins to thrash wildly and, just as she realizes she can scream again, the cold blade digs into and her voice box is carved out.

"That's nasty.." Jongin grimaced at the picture of her sliced open neck, but he's seen worse. Her esophagus is split open, thyroid cut into pieces and the veins and arteries are hanging out. Jongin turns the page...

The woman claws at her neck in pain, gurgling as blood obscures her airways. Her attacker hums happily, dragging the blade down the fair skin of her face, neatly, in various lines and half circles. Blood seeps through the cracks and her eyes nearly roll back, until the man plunges two long, thin needles into the cores. The woman jerks, still alive, and the man chuckles in response. He likes keeping them alive to the very end.

"Organs were scooped out, puzzled and wrapped? How did he have enough time for this?" Jongin exhales harshly at the next picture, blowing out as much air as he can. Her body is opened in flaps, as if her attacker performed an autopsy, and there are acidic bubbles eating away at bones and whatever is left.

He carves her open, smirking as her body twitches in response, and opens her up with his gloves; no fingerprints. He rips out anything fleshy, beating or important, and tosses it beside her carelessly. She's dead now, what a pity. He removes each spinal disc and puts them with the organs as well before digging into his pocket for a harsh coarse brush and a reinforced bottle. He pours a small amount of liquid from the bottle onto the bristles and scrubs her hands harshly, erasing any trace of a fingerprint, and pours the rest of the sulfuric acid into her body.

"Sweet dreams." Is what he says after putting the discs and organs into a box and wrapping it with a sinister black bow. He swiftly picks up the purse from earlier and checks her phone.

He cracks her code, factory resets the phone, and pockets it. He takes the money she had, 42,000 won, and gives it to a bum a few blocks away. He burns everything else; makeup, id, social security card, medical card, passport, female supplies, condoms, everything, and tosses the bag over the Han river.

"This'll be tough.." Jongin sighs and then yawns, frowning afterwards. He could have sworn he got enough sleep last night. He decides he'll wait for Chanyeol to arrive. They work better together, anyway.

Always did, always will.
