@[w] lee jieun Garry Schyman’s Cohen’s Scherzo No.7 echoed from a standing classical-looking vinyl players inside the small bedroom, with gray wallpapers stuck on the walls. The color of the wallpapers itself was making the room became dull-looking and screamed the abnormality of the owner of the room. The room probably was looking as normal as other rooms on the fourth floor; it was clean with everything stacked neatly on its place. Nevertheless, despite of the normalcy that the room showed, the room itself had become a silent witness of the insanity from the young man that resided there for almost eighteen years. The owner was no other than the infamous boogeyman from Seoul, the silent killer, Lee Soohyuk. With eyelids came down, covered his obsidian eyes, the young man was sitting on the twin bed, back leaned on the wall behind with thighs pressed on his chest. Soohyuk was enjoying the eerie melody of the song that still playing, his pale face looked more at ease than usual.

Today was another boring, mundane day for the raven-haired young man. Woke up at 5 A.M, ate breakfast, another therapy session with the head therapist, and dinner a few hours ago. All of that had become his routine for almost eighteen years, and hell, the latter did not have any ideas how many times he had to spend in the place again. Forever until the day where his nonexistence heart was no longer beating? Probably. However, Soohyuk did not plan to spend his entire life inside this hell; he still had to complete his mission, to kill his little sister. At that thought, the raven-haired fingers curled into tight fist. He had to kill his little sister to end all of this, to end the pain that tortured and ate him from inside. A memory from his childhood all of sudden was playing inside his mind like a film, a memory from that night where he started his first killing. The moment when he took out the butcher knife from his back pocket, snuck quietly to the living room and approached his oblivious parents and older sister. Those people were unaware as they were laughing happily at the comedy show on the TV, did not realize at all that the little boy was raising the silver-steeled butcher knife, and swung it right at the impulse on the neck of his father.

Soohyuk could still remember it clearly as if he just did that yesterday as he sliced the thin skin tissue of his father’s neck and caused blood to spurt like shaken champagne. The ear-piercing screams from his poor mother and older sister were still fresh in his mind; those women were beyond terrified at what just happened. Their little boy who was always quiet and obedient turned into a beast that murdered his own father. Little Soohyuk himself was only watching blankly with his hollow-looking obsidian orbs about how light left from his father’s eyes, he entirely brushed off the haunting looks that his mother and older sister showed from their faces. That night, quiet little Soohyuk was like a psychopath from the movies before he lashed the bloody knife brutally at his mother and older sister, sending their frightened souls into the afterlife. There was nothing that ran inside him, no regret, no sadness, nothing. The only regret that he felt at that time was his little sister was not there. If she was there and joined the pieces of Soohyuk’s parents and older sister bodies, the little boy did not have to feel tortured and haunted.

His little sister probably had turned into a teenager now, living her life in happiness and peace and totally oblivious about the life that her older brother had passed inside the asylum. Soohyuk had promised to his own self, the moment when he would take his little sister’s life would be the moment where he would be the happiest. His lifetime mission would come true if he escaped this hell. Ran away from this place was his first priority before he could find his little sister. Whatever the risks were, he had to escape.
