@kim namjoon Jaebum nodded at Namjoons words and grinned widely. Old times were the best. "Ah me? I've worked here for two years now, since I graduated the university with a masters, I almost worked in a hospital in the United States but certain obstacles got in my way and now I work here" Jae explained smiling at the man
@im jaebum When Jaebum confirmed Namjoons suspicions that they had gone to school together, he laughed softly, clapping his hands together once. "That's great! It's so good to have a colleague I'm already familiar with. I do remember that you're very smart, you always scored right next to me on the test charts in school." He pointed out with a grin. "Ohh yeah, I had considered going into a specialized surgery, but i honestly... couldn't pick. So for now I'm content to just do this and maybe later on down the line i'll go back for a specialization. How long have you been working here, Jaebum?"
@kim namjoon Jaebum nodded at Namjoon. He was right, the hospital was so overbooked, especially since it was a local hospital. Jaebum raised his eyebrows. "I did go there! And yeah! You were in that class, I remember you were always the kid who had the answers. I knew them too but I was always shy to answer!" Jaebum exclaimed laughing. It was always good to see an old classmate again. Jaebum listened to namjoons description of his job before nodding, it made sense. "Ah wow, I always thought you would be a surgeon like me" Jaheim said smirking lightly.
@im jaebum "Ah, thank you. I could tell things have definitely been overbooked here, and understaffed. I'm glad to get a start on working with some of these patients." Namjoon relaxed a bit and sat down next to Jaebum. "Did you go to Seoul National University for your degree? I feel like I know you.... Was it medical terminology 303?" He asked, now that he was up close to him and still felt as if he were familiar. He left that train of thought to process the question he'd been asked. "General practitioner and general surgery. I'll most likely end up recommending your patients to you as they come in, honestly." Namjoon was used to being the 'first filter' in the hospital. He was the doctor people saw first, and if he couldn't fix what was wrong with them, he directed them to the doctor who could.
@kim namjoon Jaebum looked up from the book he was reading and readjusted his glasses smiling. "Ah hello, welcome" Jae said confused at the sudden introduction. He tilted his head at the other and smiled. "Glad to have another part of the staff here, it's really been hell" Jae said chuckling and gestured to the seat next to him. He looked up at the man studying him. He looked familiar but he wasn't sure. Perhaps university? "Nice to meet you by the way namjoon, what kind of doctor are you?" Jaebum asked interested as he rested his chin on his hand.
@kim taehyung@kim namjoon@chen being really sneaky ,I open the door ,tiptoeing my way to the fridge ,praying no one see me "all this food looks so good" grabbing as much as I can I slip out as quietly as i came
@im jaebum Tiredly, Namjoon dragged himself into the doctors lounge. It had been a long day, considering there were only two or three doctors currently employed at the hospital. He quickly grabbed a cup of coffee before heading over to the sitting area, flopping down onto a chair with a sigh. He took a couple sips of his drink before glancing around and noticing another doctor nearby. "Ah, hello." Namjoon greeted, standing and bowing a little. He was still very new here, and had yet to meet everyone yet. As the rookie at this hospital, he wanted to make a good impression on everyone and develop a good working relationship. "My name is Namjoon Kim, i'll be working here from now on." He introduced himself, trying to not seem as tired as he was, he was sure this doctor was also exhausted.
[this one isn't the best but here we go ; w ; but I seriously died laughing while reading the entire post because Ben is so sassy.]
"It's not actually a compliment, doctor. Pretty is only a compliment I give to someone of the opposite , if I were to inform someone of the male gender that they were pretty, it doesn't quite mean what you think it does," Tom spoke as he sat down in a chair. He pulled his beeper out of his pocket and placed it atop the scattered papers on the table he was sitting beside. "What? Don't like my outgoing and chivalrous personality that could woo more people than you have brains?" Tom clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth as he turned in his chair to face the surgeon who was sitting on the other side of the room. "And what's so shameful about it? That I don't have a stick up my all the time and I actually know how to have a bit of fun here and there?" Tom leaned forward in his chair and observed the surgeon.
He seemed like he would be a no nonsense kind of guy. All work and no play. He probably decided to drown himself in his work to bury the guilt and regret.
Tom raised an eyebrow and bit back a laugh. "I know how to do my job, Whishaw, I don't need you to explain to me the correct way of doing it. I'll deliver the anesthesia right on time. You need not worry," Tom leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms as he did so. He glanced down at the beeper. 5:20AM. He still had twenty minutes left on his break. He hoped he wouldn't be stuck with the surgeon the entire time. He was just itching to pull out his phone so he could sing and dance along to some music he had downloaded a few nights before. Tom watched as Benjamin pulled out a pack of cigarettes. "Cigarettes are bullies, you know," Tom sing-songed. "Looks like they've got you whipped, but if you really want one, just go outside to smoke. It's not like you're going to get fired for being addicted to cancer sticks."
The sound of footsteps entering the room hardly phased Tom as he was still in his drowsy state. He held the warm coffee mug in his hands and turned around, leaning back against the counter. He raised his eyebrows as he watched the cardiothoracic surgeon move towards the coffee machine. He didn't expect to see the surgeon this early in the morning so to say he was dumbfounded would be an understatement. He could feel himself becoming more awake as the minutes passed and as the distaste for the man began to bubble in the pit of his stomach. He did not want to deal with the man when he was unable to think clearly. This could make witty retorts turn to cheesy remarks.
Tom gripped his coffee mug tighter in his palm and all but snorted. Sure, Tom showed up to almost everything he did at Haverhill minutes to hours late but he sure as hell was not going to show up late to a surgery that the egotistic Benjamin Whishaw was overseeing and performing. He planned on proving the man wrong. The distaste for each other could be compared to two twelve year olds who pulled a nasty prank on one another which disgruntled the friendship that could have bloomed otherwise. "Don't you worry your pretty little head, Dr. Whishaw, I'll be on time," Tom retorted before finishing his coffee and placing the empty mug into the sink. He slipped his hands into his scrub pockets and moved toward the table he had thrown his schedule onto earlier. "It's a relief to hear that you actually passed primary school," Tom murmured as he flipped through the pages of the schedule, pretending to be interested in the conversation.
Tom threw open the doors to the doctor's lounge and tossed the schedule for upcoming surgeries onto one of the nearby tables. He was a bit irked at the fact that he would have to work with one surgeon in particular. The man was supposed to be a top notch surgeon and most people would have been ecstatic to be able to work so close to him. Tom didn't see what was so great about hi,. Yeah, he may have saved countless lives but he killed his own daughter with his own two hands. He shouldn't have even done that surgery. Of course Tom hadn't heard it from the man himself. I guess you could say he heard it through the grapevine. Rumors can spread as quickly as a disease. Tom couldn't help but to get dragged into them himself. He had never been a gossiper but what he had heard about Benjamin shocked him greatly and it made his blood boil. This could also tie in to the fact that Tom had got to close to a patient that was on her death bed and she ended up dying during a surgery a few weeks later.
Tom placed the palms of his hands on the counter top and closed his eyes. He slowly took in a deep breath before releasing it. He needed to calm himself down before he did something idiotic. He couldn't lose this job. One more write up and he would lose it for sure. Tom opened his eyes and reached into the cabinet for a coffee mug. He needed caffeine. There would be no way that he could stay awake for a double shift at Haverhill if he didn't. Hot black liquid filled the mug as Tom hummed softly. Just two more days until his off day. He could do this. He lifted the mug to his lips and blew slowly to cool the liquid down before taking a long gulp. Hopefully the energy would kick in before his shift starts.
