@eunseo Lilliana walked into the cafeteria looking for her friend Eunseo. She had gotten a box of pepero from her sister as a gift and wanted to share them with her.
Lilliana spotted Eunseo sitting alone at a table and hurried over. "Eunseo look what my sister got me. Would you like some?"
@chen He nodded slightly ashamed. "Yes, it's been a rough day and I wondered-" He couldn't even finish his sentence because Jongdae already hurried to get some leftovers. He just stayed muted and grinned. "I guess I'm fine with salad and food, honestly. Thank you very much." Seungjun looked out of one of the windows. "It's quite late, yeah... But, you know, salad on evenings is healthier than bread on evenings." He chuckled and slightly bowed before he took the bowl of salad, the cutlery and- no, he left the soup on the counter to make sure he wouldn't spill it while carrying it around with so much other stuff in his hands. He wondered if things like this happened to him often. He really started to feel sorry. "Turns out I'm really pretty lucky right now", he laughed then. "I don't want to detain you, really. I'm sorry." He examined the shining spoon before he began to eat.
@park seungjun Jongdae looks up from the half filled container of soup upon hearing a slightly familiar voice. It takes awhile for his brain to register who the vaguely familiar face is in front of him, but not too long for him to think anything was off. When it clicks, his face lights up like a bulb and he shakes his head at one of the fairly new additions to their hospital. "Good evening! Coming in at this time again, Doctor Park?" He says in a nagging tone but smiles warmly at him anyway, "You doctors and your timings, really!" Jongdae sets the container down and lets the soup ladle rest against the pot, bending down to disappear beneath the counters completely. "You're in luck, Doctor. I happen to have some leftover soup and salad! Hold on a second." His headless voice informs the other as he takes some cutlery from the shelf compartment below. "There we go!" Jongdae intones cheerily as he pops back up, "Do you want salad too? Actually, wait, do you even want soup? Although you might not really have any other choice since it's all we have left."
@chen It's been a hard day at work and Seungjun had just finished to analyze the test results of three patients about depression and anxiety. He had mixed-up feelings about the results, because every single one of them showed that they'd been sick for sure. He was tempted to help those lost souls but he'd also been really hungry, so he entered the cafeteria - and saw jongdae. He tilted his head a bit, smiling friendly. "Am I too late?", he asked with a slightly cracking voice, scratching his head out of embarrassment. He walked towards the other man, he wore an apron. A... pink apron. He was slightly amused but that only showed Seungjun that Jongdae really enjoyed his job. It made him happy, too. "Good... evening", he greeted him with a broad smile.
@park seungjun Jongdae hummed a cheery tune as he started to clean up the counters, making sure they were all gleaming and clean. It was past closing time now and the entire cafeteria was empty and the only sound to keep him company was his humming. This was always how he ended his days and after years of working here and having to do all the work, he was tired but used to it. The people that said his cooking was better than other hospitals always made him terribly happy. Of course, the customers that came in and ate everything he cooked made him happy too. Scratch that, it had officially become his hobby to fill people's stomachs. Jongdae moved on to some of the leftover alfalfa salad and chicken stew. There was about a bowl or two worth of it left. A small smile lit up his face as he thought of having it for breakfast tomorrow with some toasted, warm bread. He scurried over to the staff room to grab his container that he reserved for situations like these and scurried back just as quickly. If anyone was watching, it would've looked vaguely amusing to see the short man in a pastel pink apron scurrying about much like a squirrel storing food for the winter.
[ if you noticed, i mentioned an extremelyextremely tiny hint of the prosopagnosia but im just trying to work on settling it in for now but its currently just barely there and subtle so yeah, just dont mind it for now ]
@baek sumin Jongdae was about resume his stubborn nagging but before he can even get a word in about her only eating only after she got whatever she had to do, done and her possibly not eating dinner, the lady had called him, "Cat-sir" and walked off to the cafeteria seats and settled down.
"C-cat....sir?" Jongdae repeats out loud to himself, slightly thrown off balance at such a nickname. Although it was rather cute albeit strange. Where— How had she even come up with it, anyway? Jongdae shakes his head to clear his mental ramblings. Jongdae takes the money she left on the counter. He smiles slightly as he counts the money; it's exact. Why is he not surprised?
Jongdae places the money into the cash register accordingly before looking up. She was still there. He moves to somewhere near the back of the cafeteria shop where theres a door leading to the cafeteria itself. He makes his way through the tables and benches towards the lady. For some strange reason, despite how pretty she was and the fact that she was the only one in the cafeteria other than Jongdae, it took him an unsure second or two before he sat down before the lady. For a second, the lady had almost looked slightly unfamilar to him but then it was so subtle and barely there that Jongdae forgot about the strange feeling as soon as it had taken place.
"Hey," Jongdae grins at her, "Sorry if I'm disturbing you. But anyway, which department are you in? And where do you usually do your...work? "Cat-sir" will do special delivery for your dinner," His grin widens, slightly teasing, "So you don't have to come down here and all. Oh, and I insist on this dinner delivery." Yes, Kim Jongdae was a very stubborn person when he's made up his mind and sets out on a mission.
@baek sumin Jongdae's expression slowly morphed into a horrified one at her words. "Dinner?" He stares at her. "It's too early for dinner! And you shouldn't skip meals! Come here later around 6 or 7 and I'll cook whatever you want." Jongdae shakes head and sighs befpre resuming his nagging, "Just because you're used to it doesn't mean it's good, Miss!"
When asked about the price, instead of just rattling the well memorized numbers off like he usually does, he shakes his hand, waving a hand at her nonchalantly. "My treat. Just remember to eat," and he emphasizes, "all your meals on time from now on!" Seriously, kids these days skipped meals and ate at irregular timings too often! Food shouldn't be ignored or forgotten for studies or work! They'd have no energy to work or study if they didn't eat, in fact. Jongdae folds his arms at the thought, feeling the familar urge to make sure everyone ate their meals properly. Like, come on, food is life.
@baek sumin Jongdae stepped out of the kitchen, wiping his hands on the small towel he always used to dry his hands. He moved to the counters where hospital staff and patients ordered their food. It was a little over lunch time by now and the cafeteria was empty. He hummed a song he couldn't remember the name to as he leaned on the cool surface of the counter. However, a nearby spot on the counter caught his eye and he narrowed his eyes. Jongdae looked around before spotting the cloth he usually used to wipe the counters (Because, he did all the cleaning in the kitchen and the cafeteria shop! Really, they needed to get some assistants and cleaners, it was getting ridiculous, he was a chef, cleaner, cafeteria shop keeper and also stood in as the freakin' lunch "lady". This situation was so funny that it wasn't even funny. ) and furiously wiped at the spot. He stepped back, scrutinizing the counter. It was now clean and he nodded in approval. Just as he was about to realize how ridiculous he had become in a year or so of working more than double roles under the title of "Head Chef", a figure entering the cafeteria caught his eye.
Jongdae was horrified. Coming in at this kind of time (3:30PM, really) to eat was too late for lunch and too early for dinner. He gaped at the pretty lady making her way to the counters with her eyes glued to a torturous looking book of some sort. If she kept this up, her eyesight would be ruined (but judging from the professional, "i-have-mastered-this-art" way she made her way here without even looking up from the book-of-brain-abuse-no-one-should-ever-be-that-engrossed-in, it probably already was) and if she ate at such irregular timings, she was going to have gastritis sooner or later!
Putting his horrified expression aside, he smiled and opened his mouth to greet her but before he even got a word out, she had already stated what she wanted without even looking at him. Jongdae closed his mouth. He frowned as he turned away to go to the rice cooker and scooped out warm rice into a bowl. He placed the bowl on a tray and goes over to the pot with seaweed soup and ladles out a serving into another bowl. He sets the bowl on the tray too but before the lady can take it, he manages a: "Ah, wait a minute!".
Jongdae rushes to the back and pours out a glass of fruit juice into a glass. Then, he opens one of the fridges and takes out a small serving of kimchi. He goes back to the counter with the juice and kimchi, placing them on the tray. He waves at her, trying to get attention.
"Just rice and seaweed soup isn't going to give you enough nutrients," He states as he pushes the tray to her with a bright smile. "But don't you think it's a bit too late for lunch? And you shouldn't read while walking..."
