@JEON HYOSUNG Jackson was scurrying around back at his place, fretting over the fact his apartment was something close to a pigpen of a mess. He growled slightly, knowing that if he continued the charade, he would be late for Hyosung's party she was throwing for her younger brother. Taking a moment to asses the situation rationally, Jackson exhaled a steady breath, tapping his bottom lip with his index finger.
Hearing his phone vibrate against the coffee table in his living room, Jackson sighed and walked the perimeter of the couch, plopping into it in exhaustion. Grabbing the phone with his right hand, Jackson quickly entered his passcode and checked his messages, seeing one from Hyosung. Smiling to himself, Jackson replied dutifully, saying, "It's no problem. I really can't wait to see Jun again. He's such a nice kid!"
Jackson's smile broke into a grin, and his mind wandered to the times he spent with Hyosung and her little brother. They had all been so kind to him, so pleasant to be around that Jackson genuinely enjoyed their company. They took him away from the corruption of the world and replaced it with personality and flair; to say the least, Jackson never regretted meeting Hyosung one bit.
Realizing the time, Jackson slipped his phone into his pocket and got up, having to leave his apartment semi-clean in order to reach Hyosung's place on time. Busily preparing himself, Jackson grabbed a coat from his closet and his utilitarian keys, soon locking up the house and descending the stairs of the building to start his car.
“The party starts at five- and yes, please brings both the cake and the ice cream one hour early so everything can go together well. Yes- thank you… Ah, yes, you too mama.” Ending the phone call as quickly as she could, Hyosung’s fingers were immediate to sweep across her temple in slight aggravation. She spent thirty minutes on that call alone, reminding her mother of all the things she knew she wouldn’t get in the end, or Hyo herself, would have to run out and pick up. The woman was always busy, for her, her baby brother, and just her children’s life in general. She could never make it to a game, choir concert, or birthday party no matter how free she supposedly was. Promises were always short lived in her household.
Shaking away the negative thoughts that clouded her mind, she slipped her hands in the back pockets of her shorts as she gazed over at the room filled with Power Ranger stickers and posters since it was her brother’s favorite show. She couldn’t believe it, he was going to officially be four today.
Making her way towards her phone and checking her messages, she nibbled on her bottom lip when she read the name ‘Jackson’ and the last message that was sent to him. ‘Thank You’ could be read clearly, and a small smile slipped along her lips at the previous messages exchanged between the both of them. She knew that her younger brother Jun, would be happy to see him. Whenever Jackson came around whenever Jun was with her, Jun would go crazy and jump all over him. It was a cute sight to see, and she knew that as long as she’s been getting to know Jackson, he didn’t mind it too much. If he did, he would have surely said something or stop coming around her… But they were doing the opposite, the more she thought about it. His vibe, what he did, she could see nothing wrong in what he was showing her. He was a great friend and person to have in her life, and she didn’t plan on pushing him away like she was known to doing when it came to new people trying to come and make their way inside of her small circle.
