@arden cho Sitting more towards the front of the bus, Sana had started a conversation with the girl next to her and the two people sitting across the aisle. She hadn't really been paying attention much to the scenery change going on outside the windows, so when the chatter around her got louder and louder, she finally looked up and found that the bus was nearing their destination, driving down a narrow road that led them somewhere into the forest. The bus eventually came to a stop and suddenly everyone was cramming their way towards the door, following the professor as he started talking about today's activity and explaining that he was pairing everyone up. Sana simply waited for her name to be called, looking around at her surroundings in the meantime before it finally got to her turn.
"Arden and Sana."
Said girl looked over and blinked, having been slightly distracted because she could've sworn she had heard running water; there was probably some sort of creek nearby. She walked over and grabbed the list of things they'd be looking for, then looked over the class to find her partner. If Sana was being honest, she had never really spoken to Arden before, seeing as how they seemed to be two completely different people, and she hoped this whole thing wouldn't be awkward because they didn't really know one another. Finally, Sana had spotted her and began walking over, quickly looking over the things printed on the list.
"So," she began to speak once she reached her partner, "which trail should we go down?"
@minatozaki sana Trees loomed overhead, almost blocking the sky from view. Arden leaned her head against the bus window, trying to see the last snatches of blue. Her room mate had kept her up all night, leaving Arden tired and quick to snap. She had immediately chosen a seat at the back of the bus, away from most people, but the bus was too loud to try and sleep. The bus seemed to grow louder as they reached their destination, all the students talking loudly and trying to look out the windows. Arden grumbled and sat up, holding her bag close to her as she waited for the bus to empty.
Arden was the last one off the bus, and the fresh air lifted her mood slightly. She followed the rest of the class to the trail head, where their professor was waiting for them. "Good morning, Ecology 284. Are you excited for todays activity?" He didn't wait for a response, which Arden thought was a good idea but the response would have been less then enthused. "Right, today you're going to be separated into pairs or trios and given a list of some of things we've been studying so far this semester. Your goal is to find as many of them as you can." At this the class groaned, Arden among them. The professor ignored them and looked at his clipboard. Arden shifted her feet as she waited for her name to be called. The day could only go up from here, she thought, figuring the activity would be easy enough.
