JAMES CLAYTON 7 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG Now. James couldn't help but chuckle at the word the man had chosen to finish his sentence with. Then again, he wasn't too scared at the prospect of being bitten, probably due to ignorance that he fed himself on a daily basis upon arriving at the school/college? Whatever it was. However, the combination of a person afraid of eye contact, and one to whom it was quite important, was not the most ideal. Still, he supposed it wasn't such a bad idea to attempt stepping out of his comfort zone. The friends he left behind in Great Britain had a "let him be" mentality when it came to James, since he was pretty much irreparable when it came to social skills. After Brian had ordered for the both of them, he grinned at the other's words and leaned back in his seat comfortably. "You don't owe me anything, for starters," he started off, not quite feeling comfortable with people owing him anything, be it money, favours, or even information, but since he was given the opportunity, he may as well use it. Pff, opportunism for life, right? "And you can tell me to off if you don't want to answer something. So, hm, let me see... Oh, yeah, how old are you? Cause I've heard that vampires can be ancient creatures." He chuckled. He probably came off like such an ignorant, preschooler.
✙ BRIAN KANG 7 years ago
@JAMES CLAYTON A small shrug was given to the others words. He was right, time would eventually tell what was going on with him but he has never met anyone who just didn't know. "I don't know how much help I'll be--actually i doubt I'll be any." He chuckled again, knowing he'd end up causing mischief in the others life sooner or later. Brian almost snorted hearing the others response to eye contact. He nodded his head agreeing with the others words as his fingers started to tap silently on the table. "Yea, you're right, I do bite but you don't need to worry about that now. Anyways you may not like it but it's important for me so just entertain the idea." At the others short reply to his question, he needed before ordering the same thing. "Okay pizza and breadsticks for you too," Once the waitress had left with their order Brian returned his attention to James, silence filling the air before he decided to speak again. "So I think I've questioned you enough for now, you get a short break." Light laughter left Brians lips as he smiled a bit too the other. "Is there anything you'd like to know about me? I don't usually share but I feel I owe you something for my nosiness."
JAMES CLAYTON 7 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG James guessed his expectations might have been a little high on that regard; Why should there be a test? If you're vampire, you're most probably aware of it, but whatever. Surely an expert could tell, but according to Brian he should not rely on such a thing. It was way too early for James to actually worry about it -although his anxiety begged the difference- so he simply decided to mentally shrug it off at that moment. "Time will tell, I guess," he replied, matching his words with a physical shrug. "And if you can help me, all the better." He grinned. But then the comment about eye contact followed and James felt like he needed to justify himself. Didn't he always? "No, I don't have a problem with you -though technically you do bite-" He paused. Ugh, stupid thoughts. "I mean, like, I just- like, I can't stand continuous eye contact, that's all." He chuckled, although he felt quite uncomfortable. But when the waitress came over, he instantly felt a sense of relief as the attention was directed away from his person. "I don't know, whatever. You're paying," he commented, gesturing to the young vampire -at least he looked young, but didn't vampires live for, like, thousands of years?
✙ BRIAN KANG 7 years ago
@JAMES CLAYTON Brian nodded his head every now and then to let the other know he was listening though he studied relatively silent as he spoke. There wasn't really a test, they just expected people to know if they were human or not. And if they didn't they assumed they'd find out eventually. It was a stupid system but that's just the way it was. "Listen James, you'll have to find out yourself. The academy doesn't really have a process for something like this." A short pause was given before Brian laughed lightly, shaking his head a bit before continuing. "Yeah, it would've been way funnier drunk. We all have different reasons for being here but yours interests me to say the least. I hope you don't mind but I'd like to help with figuring out if you're a vampire or not." He sat watching the other as he thought about what he was getting himself into. It wasn't his usual trouble, in fact this wasn't trouble at all but he knew it would be pretty weird determining if he was a vampire as well. The broken eye contact didn't go unnoticed by Brian, which caused him to lightly chuckle. "Look at me James, I'm not going to bite." He continued to chuckle as the waitress walked back to them, ready to take their order. He ordered his usual meal before turning to the other. "What would you like?"
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG Ironically, eye contact was not something James was comfortable with at all times. In fact, he tended to avoid it when he felt awkward or, well, to be fair in whatever situation. Just too intense. So when Brian expressed his disdain towards the fact that James had been avoiding meeting his eyes and lowered the menu from James' hands, the latter looked into his eyes, almost in shock. Surprise actually. He guessed since he was not too used to people being this honest with him right off the bat.

Hey, at least he had been warned.

"Mate, don't even know whether I have such an ability or not, much less how to actually willingly use it." he chuckled, raising his shoulders in an exaggerated shrug. "It's probably just nothing, but sense the school -or academy, whatever- accepts human students too, I guess there's no harm in being here." Plus, the change of scenery had been a really pleasant experience for him. "I guess they must have some sort of test to determine such a thing, but they've yet to make me take it. Still.. some of the subjects are interesting." Just that he felt as if he was back in school, and that definitely was not a pleasant feeling.

"Would have probably been a lot funnier if we'd been drunk, see?" Or your sense of humour is retarded, James. "Anyway, so in a nutshell that is my reason for being here."

He'd dropped eye contact by then and instead resulted to the sure technique of throwing occasional glances. He couldn't help it how intense staring made him feel nervous.
✙ BRIAN KANG 8 years ago
@JAMES CLAYTON Brian stayed silent as James spoke about his reasoning for coming to the school. His eyes never left the menu, only to wave off the waitress that came to take their order. He didn't want that stopping the other from finishing his story. Once he was done, Brian looked up to see James avoiding eye contact. He hated when a person did that. It resulted in him placing his menu on the table, then doing the same with the one James had before speaking. "Look at me, I have a thing for eye contact. Now, that's the only reason? People being exhausted around you?" Brian chuckled a bit but he wasn't laughing at the other, just thinking of every situation that could play out. A vampire that feeds of energy? And people say out a persons soul was weird. Brian cleared his throat once before smiling to the other. "Do you know how this.. whatever it is works? Like when that waitress comes back do you think you'd be able to drain her every or whatever it is you do?" Brians troublemaker side was showing and he wanted to see what the other was capable of since he believed he was a vampire that fed off of energy.

@✙ BRIAN KANG Instead of trying to cover the uncomfortable silence with something James just decided to trail him until they had reached their destination. He hummed in confirmation of Brian's words, and soon enough they were inside. The latter seemed to know exactly where he wanted to sit, James noticed, though made no comment about it. It wasn't like he had a seating preference. Or well, he did, but he wasn't a control freak about that at least.

Then Brian's request followed once more, and James, being a person that couldn't quite say the word "no" twice, decided to give in. Eh, what did he have to lose anyway?

"Laugh if you feel like it: I've pretty much spent the majority of my life driving people away. And, I mean, I do blame my personality for it as well, but... I dunno. I found this article about energy -or physic, whatever- vampires, y'know, like... they can the energy right out of you, and I'm kind of an expert at that." He chuckled, although he felt pretty uncomfortabe. Well, that was actually the very reason he laughed. "Even my friends, you know, they always get to mellow and - well, not mellow, more like exhausted around me. Haha. I literally have nothing better to do, so I decided to come here and-" He shrugged, "whatever."

He cleared his throat slightly as he grabbed the menu, eyes blindly racing across the words, seeing, yet not bothering to process the words. Eye contact was defiitely a no-no at that moment.

@JAMES CLAYTON Brian kept waking in the direction of the restaurant but his thoughts were running around freely. James was.. different from a lot of people he has met. He couldn't be a vampire because that's the first thing Brian would've noticed if he was. Brian had met many vampires before, he knew one when he saw one but James confused him. After a while of him walking and thinking about the other, Brian looked towards him as he spoke. "Huh?...oh yeah, it's right here." Luckily Brian had been to the place multiple times before that he could get there through muscle memory because he had not been paying attention to where he was walking. He entered the place, motioning for James to follow him as he sat in the usual booth by the window. "I know you said we'd have to be drunk for this story but I'm curious... what made you come here?" Brian spoke as his eyes scanned the menus on the table though he already knew what he wanted.
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG "Yeah.. probably not," James replied, too shrugging his shoulders lightly. It was just.. hope, he guessed. Hope that there was a reason other than James Clayton, hope that perhaps it was not his fault that his relationship with other people was generally impaired. It was a naive thought, and at that moment he felt pretty stupid to have even speculated such a thing. Wouldn't it be convenient? James is just an energy vampire, he can't help draining people. He's not even doing it on purpose. All of the self-doubt, self-hatred, self-anything would be aleviated if he was just told that he was an energy- vampire, right? Someone special. Of course James Clayton had to be a special snowflake. He only didn't fit in because he was unique.

Pfff.

Furrowing his brow lightly he resumed walking when Brian did too, naturally deciding to keep the self-deprecating thoughts to himself. "Is it much further?" he asked, changing the subject so as to distract his own brain.
✙ BRIAN KANG 8 years ago
@JAMES CLAYTON Barnsley? That didn't ring any bells for him but the name Manchester did. Sure Brian had heard of it, but he wasn't all that familiar with the place. James had been right to say soccer because that was all the vampire knew of the place. "Yeah I've heard of Manchester, mainly from soccer though." Brian continued to stare at the male trying to figure him out. He didn't notice James taking a step back since he was too caught up his own thoughts. Usually he knew a vampire when he met one but James didn't really categorize with any he had previously met. "I don't think you're a vampire, I just get this weird feeling. But we can save this for another time though I am pretty curious now." Brian gave a small shrug, deciding to worry about the vampire thing later. He needed food. "Okay, let's just focus on getting some food for now. We'll have story time another day." He started to walk down the road once again but couldn't shake the thoughts from his mind. He wanted to ask about the reason the other thought he was a vampire but knew he shouldn't. There was a specific time for everything and at the moment it didn't look like he was supposed to know.
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG James though, he wasn't the kind of person that talking about himself much. Mostly because he felt that he was not a very interesting individual, and experience had taught him that the more people got to know about him, the more disinterested they seemed to become. Being a lazy, pathetic leech and all. But, really, what did he have to lose? He'd actually stopped being fake many years ago, because being around the wrong people is literally worse than being alone. "Ah, I'm from Barnsley which is- like.. east of Manchester. You have to know Manchester, right? Y'know, soccer and all." When the other male speculated James' human life must have been, quote on quote, "fairly interesting" though, he couldn't help the grin that crawled to his lips. He bit at his bottom lip to hold it back. Still, the grin was wiped away on its own when Brian stopped dead on his tracks and turned to face him; James instinctively backed away a little bit, as discreetly as he could so as not to appear rude. "I actually don't know what I am," he replied honestly. "That's what I'm here to find out. I mean... you'll probably think I'm either funny or pathetic when I tell you the reason I speculated I may be a vampire, but let's keep that for some other time when we'll be drunk, yeah?" And he chuckled. yeah, too much information for now.

@JAMES CLAYTON The grin that appeared on the other name tag Brian chuckling softly before nodding his head. He stayed to lead the other out the garden and through the front gates of the school so they could arrive at their destination in a decent amount of time. "So James, I'm curious about something. Your accent--where exactly are you from if you don't mind me asking?" Brian was indeed curious of the other male but he also didn't like to keep the attention on him. When on the topic of feeding or just eating in general it never really ended well so he jumped at the chance to change the topic. "I'm actually very curious about your life before coming here. I assume it was fairly interesting for a human? Well that's also assuming that you are human--wait." Brian had stopped in his tracks and turned to face the male only a few feet behind him. A tilt of his head was given as he looked at the male. He couldn't really tell what he was and he didn't like that. "I'm not sure if you're actually a human or..your soul it's.. different..we need to find out what you are." feeling energy from a soul was something Brian could easily do but James had a different aura surrounding his
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG Distracted he may be, but James had the -good or bad, he wasn't sure- habit of storing sounds and pictures in his short-term memory, so even if he had not been paying attention at the moment, he could recall it and process it shortly afterwards. So he did not react to the other man's words as he was preoccupied being distracted by the random group of people. Still, he snapped his head back at Brian's direction shortly after he had finished talking, blankly staring at him for a couple of seconds before a goofy grin found its way on his face and he nodded. "Yeah, I'm all set," he replied. "Lead the way then." Not important? It almost sounded as if the soul- vampire was trying to conseal something, but James decided to stop his paranoia from taking a simple sentence and bringing it to the next level. Instead, he just watched the other male as he took off to a certain direction and began to trail him, remaining to his right side and a step or two behind him.

@JAMES CLAYTON "Great, I know a place and it's pretty close, about ten minutes maybe." Brian smiled wide at the human. He amused the vampire in more ways than one and that was something he needed. His soft laughter filled the air as he heard James repeat his words. "Yeah..I don't really eat normal food often, maybe every few days or so.." the vampire trailed off thinking of his eating habits and how he needed to change them. Though it didn't help him survive he still enjoyed the taste and texture of human food, sometimes more than souls, and wasn't good for him to put off feeding. "That's not important, if you're all set then we can head out..?" Brian paused after he spoke waiting to see if the other male was ready to go. He seemed to be a bit distracted by the other people and Brian couldn't help but chuckle.

@✙ BRIAN KANG "Sounds good enough to me," James replied, lowering his head out of habit -he hated that. As soon as he caught himself doing that, he raised his head back up, deciding to ignore his natural urges to appear as hidden as possible. "Human food?" He laughed lightly as he found the term funny for some reason. "You don't eat that often then? Frustrating, innit? I couldn't imagine life without food." Okay. Nice one, James. Pursing his lips lightly, he turned his head away so he could look over to a patch of trees from where a group of people emerged. He absent-mindedly watched them as they closed in, yet made a turn at some point and wandered off to the general direction of the university building.

@JAMES CLAYTON Brian gave a wide smile as he stood up along with James. He stretched for a bit before glancing around the garden, getting one last look.To be completely honestly he wasn't sure James would agree, but he did and that made Brian happy. He didn't always like meeting new people but there are a few who were the exception to that. Plus he had some free time so why not spend it actually socializing instead of staying at home with his dog. Brian laughed quietly to himself at the thought then turned to James with a knowing look. "I grew up in Canada, I know exactly what you mean. It takes a while to get used to, but I know a few places that have more options. How does pizza and coke sound? With a side of bread sticks." A meal he enjoyed having from time to time. It was simple yet fulfilling when he wasn't looking for souls. He couldn't always eat human food but when he could this was his usual meal. "There are more options on the menu, but that's my favorite when I do eat human food."
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG Persuation successful. It was not like James to turn down a free meal, unless it was offered by someone whose company he really, really, really didn't enjoy. Plus, he hadn't expected of the other to suggest such a thing given that he had claimed to be busy in general, so he was pleasantly surprised. He too glanced at his instrument as the other did so, only briefly though because he soon turned his eyes back to the other male and smiled lightly. "Sure, yeah, why not?" Playing it casual as always. He now burned out cigarette was tossed to the ground, an action which he immediately regretted. Still, he couldn't exactly pick it back up while he had company who was not yet familiar with his sloth. So he pushed the irking thought to the back of his brain and stood up, tucked a strand of loose hair behind his hair and picked his guitar case up before hanging it on his left shoulder. "Korean food is weird," he mentioned with a new grin on his lips. "Not bad, just weird."

@JAMES CLAYTON Brian sat quietly seeing James go into what he assumed was deep thought. For a second Brian was afraid he scared the other off but the thought quickly left. James didn't seem like the type to be scared over a few stories, but he really didn't know the other. Brian had a good grasp on controlling himself, most of the time that is. He was still young and on his first lifetime as a vampire. That meaning he still had a lot to learn about life. Other students were already adapted to the vampire life, along with being a student here. He still had to get used to everything since nothing was ever constant at the academy. James speaking again had Brian turning to look at him. His response was a little short but it was a lot of information to take in. He probably just needed some time to process it all. "No problem, I hope it helps you." Brian gave a small smile. He had to find out everything for himself and it was not his idea of fun. James was interesting though, he had to admit that. Even if he was awkward at times, well, most of the time. "Hey..are you busy right now?" Brian glanced down at the instrument that hadn't been touched since he decided to speak to James before he continued to talk. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out for a meal? It'll be on me." He threw in the last part, along with a wide smile as an attempt to persuade him. Brian wanted to get to know James a little more.
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG It was with a light sigh that Jame's laughter finally ceased, a smile still plastered on his face as he dwelled on the thought with disturbing fondness. But perhaps he should wait and see whether this whole academy stuff would offer him some life meaning before deciding to shorten his lifespan altogether. He shrugged his shoulders indifferently, smile slowly fading as he gazed off into a bush filled with colourful flowers. What kind of bush bloomed in the middle of autumn anyway? The random question occured while he simultaneously began to process what it had been that Brian had told him a few seconds ago. Accidents had happened before. That was not so hard to believe, given that most of the students he'd encountered had either just graduated highschool or were in their early twenties in general; hormones flying no doubt, people at that age tend to be hot-headed, and surely a vampire that young would not have yet managed to harness his power. He nodded absent-mindedly, a long interlude occuring before he finally spoke up. "That is actually good to know." His reply was short, and unintentionally somewhat abrupt. As it always happened; too many thoughts, too few words to express them. More seconds of silence followed before he'd finally turn to look at Brian and lightly smile again, only then becoming aware of the cigarette between his fingers again. It had burned out by then. "Anyway. Thanks for the insight."
✙ BRIAN KANG 8 years ago
@JAMES CLAYTON "I wouldn't be surprised if they are." He gave a small smile. But it didn't last long as he started thinking of the rules regarding the vampires different diets. Brian was never one to follow every rule but he knew they were strict on feeding. With a shrug of his shoulders, Brian spoke in an unsure voice. "Yeah, consent is important but you won't always get it. And you'll need to feed eventually..so what happens then depends on the vampire himself, you get that?" He wasn't positive that James understood what he meant, but Brian knew all to well about the feeding process at the school. "Personally, I see it as a way of life. Some things need to die for others to live." Even if there was consent, accidents happen and some unlucky few died but it couldn't be helped. Brian didn't stay in the mindset for long. He laughed softly at James offering himself as a joke. He nudged the other in a playful way and shook his head. "Hey don't offer yourself, I might just take you up on that." He spoke lightly to assure he was joking. Though he enjoyed the others humor, he found it slightly weird he would say something like that. Even as a joke. So many things could go wrong, but he tried not to dwell on the comment.

@✙ BRIAN KANG "Maybe they're dyslexic?" James suggested, grin ever present on his face. "Don't be racist, yeah?" He chuckled lightly, though shortly afterwards ended up shaking his head. Really though, how could a person freak out when they knew what they were getting into in the first place? "But, joking aside, there are a lot of people who think themselves braver than they actually are. But even so, I imagine the humans within the academy -or the other vampires too, I dunno?- are protected in some way. As in, a vampire can't your body dry or just take your soul just because they want to. Uhm... consenting adults, no?" For the umpteenth time he shrugged his shoulders and leaned back/ He kept quiet when the other went about explaining what exactly, quote on quote, "eating someone's soul" was. However, as soon as Brian's words hit him he found himself laughing heartily. "Well, then by all means, shorten my lifespan, please!" Despite the mismatching content of Brian's words and his own laughter he could not bring himself to tone it down. Ironic. And everyone knows irony is the funniest form of humour.

@JAMES CLAYTON "Yes it is," Brian nodded his head thinking off all the trouble he's been in since arriving. Even before coming to the school. He didn't regret a single thing. It was all in good fun and he never hurt anyone. The phrase 'skeletons in his closet' made him roll his eyes. They weren't skeletons..more like demons. Or ghosts. Yeah, ghosts seemed more fitting. They did come back to haunt him sometimes. But that was a conversation for another time. Brian stretched out his arms before resting them on his thighs. Other than the fangs, and his complexion though he'd never admit it, he didn't think it was obvious he was a vampire. Most people didn't notice until hanging around him for a few days. "You'd be surprised how some people act here. It's like when they signed up, they didn't process the words 'vampire academy'." A small chuckle. Some reactions he got were hilarious and others..not so well. "Well you came to the right place. I'm sure we'll know soon enough." James was given a light smile as Brian reassured him it wouldn't take long to find out. "Soul energy, but yeah you get the point. It usually just shortens someones life if they're lucky." Brian shrugged, having explained it before multiple times.
JAMES CLAYTON 8 years ago
@✙ BRIAN KANG "Fun trouble is fun though.." James almost muttered, grin stretching across his face as he glanced at the other for a few seconds, an almost mischievious look to his eyes. Because, sure, he could be a wimp at times, but when it came to trouble for fun he'd had his fair share of it. Regretted some of the situations, but most of them he treasured. Internal sigh. He sort of missed his mates though. He pushed the thought away as the other turned his eyes skywards and James mechanically mimicked him, scanning the sky for any interesting clouds floating around. "Everyone's got skeletons they don't want to expose," he muttered absent-mindedly as his eyes followed a swiftly moving cloud across the sky; it sort of looked like swiss cheese, but he didn't feel compelled to point that out. He took a couple of drags from his cigarette before finally tearing his eyes away from the oddly-shaped cloud and returning them to the -now officially- vampire. He chuckled lightly. "Fangs, I guess. I don't know, I had a feeling from the start, but I could have just judged you from your appearance. To be completely frank, haha." He paused. "Besides, why would I join a vampire academy if I was the kind of person to freak out and run for the hills upon encountering a vampire?" He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know if I am one myself, that's what I came here to find out." Another shrug. A soul er? He tilted his head lightly as he turned his head fully to face the other student, curiosity peaked. "So.. you take souls then?" he asked a short interlude.
✙ BRIAN KANG 8 years ago
@JAMES CLAYTON Fun trouble? That's the only kind Brian liked. Why do something if it wasn't fun. If he was going to get punished for something he at least wanted to have a laugh doing it. "Trust me, the trouble I cause is always fun." He winked at the other before chuckling. He'd just have to tag along to see what he meant. Brian nodded his head and leaned back onto the bench. "Well I guess that's kind of true. There are some things you'll never know, but that's just the really serious stuff no one needs to hear." With a shrug of his shoulders he glanced at the sky and smiled. "Other than that I'm pretty open about my lifestyle." Brian turned his head and watched James prepare a cigarette with curious eyes. He wasn't one for smoking but he wasn't against it. James asking if he was a vampire caused Brian to laugh a little harder than he should've. "What gave it away? The fangs?" He quickly tapped his right fang before laughing again. This time a little lighter. "Yea I'm a vampire, but not a bloodsucker. I have respect for them but souls are what I prefer." Brian smiled at James making sure to let his fangs be more visible to prove his point. "I'm assuming you're one too, since you aren't freaking out and running for the hills." He eyed James cautiously. He knew the other was a vampire. Growing up surrounded by them, it was easy to know when he saw one. He just wasn't sure about the clan. Brian himself belonged to the 'soul eaters', as others liked to call it, and he wasn't sure if that would freak James out. He seemed pretty new to everything.

@✙ BRIAN KANG Brian's words did get James thinking though. It was not like all his friends were docile and well-behaved, no. He had had daredevils as friends in the past and it did not really affect him in any other way than him just worrying over their well-being. Or laughing when they'd try something daring and fail. Still, those friends knew to keep him out of whatever they were involved with. "Just don't drag me into trouble. Unless it's fun trouble." He grinned to himself, still studying the seemingly very interesting pebbles the floor consisted of. "You don't seem like an open book to me," he commented. "But I don't know you. Fair enough." He tapped at his thigh for a few seconds before finally deciding to reach for his cigarettes inside his pocket. He pulled the supplies out, whipped out a rolling paper, singled out a filter and began the sort process of rolling it. In the meanwhile he decided to just go ahead and ask Brian because he didn't want to make a bigger deal out of something that probably was not of much significance to the other student. "Well.. don't get me wrong, I don't know if this is just your aesthetic or not.." He cleared his throat shortly before letting out an awkward chuckle. What's funny? Nothing. "I.. was wondering.. if you are a vampire? I guess?" Cigarette finally rolled, he brought it to his lips and lit it up without to waste another moment.

@JAMES CLAYTON "Believe me, I will." Brian wasn't sure what he meant but he guessed it would be a one time thing of James sharing his music. At the mention of Brian being a troublemaker, he laughed loudly. "Oh you don't know the half of it." He spoke more to himself than to James. He was a good student but got bored easily. He kept his grades up so he didn't have to be in class. He could be out doing whatever he wanted, which sometimes resulted in him harassing fellow students and even teachers. "You have no clue what 'my kind' does for fun, staying away would be smart." Brian played along with the joke because in some aspects it was true. He just hoped James wouldn't actually avoid him after this meeting. That would be kind of sad. Shaking the thoughts away, he turned to look at the others face. He was holding back something. It was obvious in how awkward he got when Brian wanted him to continue his thought. "You really can ask me anything, you know? I'm kind of an open book and I don't get offended easily." He hoped that would give the other confidence to say what was on his mind. Brian knew sooner or later he'd be bombarding James with questions so it was only fair he got the chance too.

@✙ BRIAN KANG "Well.. savour it while it lasts," James commented, though cared not to elaborate. He shortly raised his eyebrows more so making an expression to himself than for the other to see. Although when Brian mentioned being related to drama James couldn't help but raise them again in surprise, a grin finding its way back on his lips. "Oh no, don't tell me you're a troublemaker." He chuckled. "My mom told me to stay away from your kind," he joked, though regretted the simplistic humour the next second. Oh, well. Then the Brian implied not having much time and James just had to link it to his humour just then becauae, sure, something as simple as making a bad joke could make someone not want to hang out with him. Stop with your overanalyzing, James. The guy may just be busy; not everyone sits around in their apartment all day and smoke weed like you. "Yeah, yeah, the right time." He flailed his hands vigorously, choosing to dismiss the negative thoughts. In fact, Brian's comment just then had sort of validated what James had been about to ask previously, but ended up not doing so. "Nothing." He laughed, feeling rather awkward. He thought he had noticed sharp canines, but that could have been just wishful thinking. "I was just.. wondering something, but it can wait so..." His voice drifted and so did his eyes.

@JAMES CLAYTON "I can't wait! I'm interested now." Brian smiled even though the other didn't seem that excited to share his music. Oh well, sooner or later he'd find out why. Maybe he just thought he wasn't that good. James speaking about his knowledge of the school made Brian give a soft chuckle. "People tend to get offended easily, just do your thing. But if you want a drama free time here I may be the wrong person to be talking to." Another chuckle left his lips at the small confession. Brian was aware his life was... hectic at the moment and he wanted to give a little warning before dragging James into it. "Between my studying and uhm, extracurricular activities as I like to call it, I'm pretty free too so maybe we'll run into each other at the right moment." A smile came then. Jamming out with James seemed like it would be very interesting. A tilt of his head let James know Brian was interested in what he had to say. "Hmm...what was that?" He liked people speaking their minds, even if it was random.

@✙ BRIAN KANG "Ah... I guess there's not harm in that. Well... yeah. Anyway. I guess when we get to actually jammin' together I can play you one or two of my songs," he agreed with a light shrug of his shoulders. The only reason he was somewhat reluctant as to share his own music was because it was a reflection of only one, sad and sort of pathetic part of his personality, but he supposed it was better to subject whomever to it early within the relationship. That thought only lasted for about a second before the other -Brian, remember it- went on about school and James turned his eyes so he could look at him while he spoke, as much as he could anyway. "I tend to usually stay away from drama so.. yeah," he admitted with a grin, readjusting the cap on his dishevelled hair, "just that I don't know what to make of everything cause I'm clueless and I don't want to offend anyone cause I tend to say stupid things when I'm awkward and.. whatever." Did that sentence even make sense? Probably not. "-But I'm free whenever so.. just- tell me when you wanna hang out I guess." He shrugged, randomly adding to the previous topic of conversation. "So.." His voice drifted, eyes fleatingly turning to the other before he shook his head a couple of times quickly. "No, nevermind." Better keep something to talk about for they when would hang out. If. If is better. No expectations.
