@Beatrice White Jagger nodded as he listened, understanding where Beatrice was coming from. It would be hard, being a doctor for people who were feared by most, even if they didn't actually do anything bad most of the time, as well as a doctor for people considered 'normal' he assumed. Opening his mouth, Jagger imitated the 'ah~' noise that was presented, feeling much more comfortable with her than he had felt with his other doctor. And this was a very good thing.
@Jagger Beatrice chuckled a bit and shook her head slightly after noting his heart rate down. "It's not like you are forcing me to do something. It is out of my own free will and at 25 I believe I can do as much as I can yo help my patients." she said in a gentle tone, afraid she had scared the hybrid. "Now I need to take your temperature so say ah!" she sang as she held the thermometer between her index finger and her thumb.
@Beatrice White Jagger shook his head with a small smile. He didn't want to be a burden, and the way Beatrice had reacted made him feel as though he was one. "It's okay, really... I wouldn't want to force you to do something that doesn't benefit yourself in any way. I'm not very important I guess, so it's okay." He looked down tapping his legs gently and thinking quietly. Maybe it was fair... this was one of the thoughts that crossed his mind, although it wasn't true.
@Jagger Beatrice instantly felt bad for being scared and distant to Jagger. She never was the nice kind of girl and when she was younger she was quite snobbish but seeing him locked up and scared seemed unfair to her. "I'm sorry to hear that Jagger. They constantly run tests on you and keep you inside, it isn't fair. I will try to get you outside sometime. Perhaps a doctor's order might make it a slight bit easier on you." she said as she pulled the thermometer out of her lab coat pocket.
@Beatrice White Humming, Jagger shrugged a bit. "I guess even with it not saying that anywhere, people don't trust enough to allow it... I don't understand why they don't trust... I always treat people kindly... Like how I want to be treated but I never am treated the same way in return... I met a few people who do, but a lot of the people don't care that I'm being kind to them..." The hybrid shrugged a bit and tool his tail hugging it to his chest.
@Jagger "Well, technically it says nowhere that you can't go out." Beatrice said as she shook her leg a bit to get the blood there flowing again. "My name is Beatrice so you can call me however you like. I don't really mind." she smiled as she gave hima thumbs up. "I am sorry they have you locked inside. I will see if I can get them to let you out." she went on gently placing her fingers on his wrist.
@Beatrice White "Well... There is only one person who takes me outside ever... and he isn't even supposed to take me out, he could get in trouble for it..." Jagger shrugged a bit and looked up at the doctor with soft eyes. "What should I call you? Doctor or should I call you by your name...?" He pursed his lips awkwardly and tapped his legs gently in a slightly awkward way as it showed a bit of a nervous side to his personality when he did so. "I don't want to seem rude or disrespectful..."
@Jagger Smiling as she stretched her arms a bit, Trice smiled at the hybrid in front of her as she touched her bun to see if it was still held in place. "So, do they let you out at all?" she asked blinking slightly. Surely they had to give him some place to walk and stretch since the cages didn't seem quite functional to keep them from being bored every day. "I mean to walk or get a bit of sunshine. It's not like they can't." the woman mumbled as she shifted to a slightly more comfortable position seeing how one of her legs had fallen asleep.
@Beatrice White Jagger looked at the doctor again rubbing at his eyes gently and nodding a bit. He watched quietly as she wrote on the papers never understanding why doctors did that but never questioning it. "A small break?" Jagger never got breaks, so this was surprising, but he nodded a bit in response. "Okay... Thank you..." He smiles softly and nodded a bit taking the crackers hesitantly and looking down after setting it in front of him as he crossed his legs and studied the crackers as if trying to see what they're made of.
@Jagger "I'm sorry! I mean they do forget that everyone has feelings." she said noting how uncomfortable the reflex check was to the hybrid before notting everything on the papers. "What do you say we have a small break? I mean the worst is over. Just checking your blood pressure and your temperature and you'll be free to go." the doctor suggested as she brought a small pack of crackers from her pocket. "Here! But wait till I get the blood pressure. The salt can make it higher." she smiled giving it to him, much less afraid than before.
@Beatrice White "oh..." Jagger spoke softly and shook his head. "Not really, they're pretty careless with the way they treat me...." He blinks rapidly and squirmed around seeing the lights and looked down to avoid it, this always being his least favorite time of these checkups, even though there were other things that would happen during them. He seemed to overreact at this part all the time.
@Jagger Smiling Beatrice shaked a bit the vials in her hand before reaching for the flashlight. "I mean, they keep you inside, locked up. The least they could do is be polite towards you." she said checking if the batteries had run out. "This will annoy you a bit." she said before flashing some light first in his right and then his left eye.
@Beatrice White Jagger just nodded in response to his thanks pursing his lips awkwardly. He felt a bit more comfortable around this doctor, yes, but he didn't know if it was a good idea to trust her just yet. Despite this thought, he pushed it aside, and decided to trust the doctor until he was given a reason not to. "What do you mean by that...?" The hybrid asked to clarify what was asked.
@Jagger "Thanks!" Beatrice said as she took the needle off of the syringe and safely closed it in the cap before sticking a sticker on the vials she separated the blood in. "Do the others treat you well? I mean, yeah, life outside the labs is bad but you guys never went out for a stroll when you were upset." she said feeling a little curious about how the hybrids held up as she opened a small circular bandaid putting over the needle prick.
@Beatrice White Jagger looked away as the doctor did her job, not knowing how he would react if he had been looking, but knowing very well that it wouldn't be a good reaction, it would be much worse. He nodded and did as he was asked, smiling softly back to the other. He didn't seem to be treated unfairly, and he appreciated it. Loosening up a bit, Jagger watched quietly to see what would happen next.
@Jagger Puring some alcohol on a cotton pad she rolled the hybrid's sleeve up and rubbed the skin over his most prominent vein, then she blowed strong enough for the alcohol to start evaporating when she gently inserted the needle of the syringe and gently pulled up the white plastic. "It will be just a second more. Please bear with me." she said as she took off the sample and pressed the still soaked in alcohol cotton pad on his elbow. "If you just press it for a second so I can close this thing up I would be really greatful." Beatrice smiled feeling slightly less awkward with Jagger.
(sorry I took so long to reply but the ground has been shaking without any prominent breaks for over a week and I had sleep and school to catch up to...)
@Skye (i'll reply with Kit cause it fits better right now but I might just change to Mo later again! Hope that is okay!)
So it was noticeable. Kit had tried to relax but down here it was always like a stigma, a bad dream that held tightly onto him and the pictures were still to clear.
He did not like the labs.
Softly Kit hugged Skye just like Mo did - his sister usually did not hug others, not even him, but with Skye it was different. It was cute as well.
"It is good to see you." Skye had already learned so much, Kit was always impressed whenever he saw her. She was as good as Nayati and Nayati was a genius, talented.
"I am fine. Dont worry. I just... Dont like it here."
Kit smiled apologetically but it did not reach his eyes. No, he hated it here.
This was the place where his brother and parents died. Usually Kit did not come here.
"How are you today?"
@Mo Skye paused when she heard Mo's voice and glanced over, a wide smile on her lips as she spotted two of her favorite people. "Nope." Skye replied popping the 'p' and wore a small pout on her lips. "It feels funny." She skipped over to the two and gently nuzzled Mo's cheek in greeting and bringing the other female into a tight hug, subtly checking for any indications for injuries. Then turning to Kit and doing the same, before taking a slow glance at him and Mo. There was...something off...with one of them. Skye wasn't accustomed to human social cues, but she was very good with body language, as that is universal between humans and animals.
"You okay?" Skye asked as she gently prodded Kit's cheek worryingly and gently placing herself on his lap, nuzzling the side of his neck comfortingly.
"did something happen?" Skye asked with a tilt of her head, glancing between Kit and Mo with worried eyes, and confusion growing in her head.
@Skye (Yep! And totally fine, I am just glad you are still here x3)
Mo had been discussing a few things with her brother when she heard footsteps. In confusion she looked up just like Kit who let out a small chuckle once they both noticed Skye. Well, someone was eager to get free of the clothes, obviously.
They were used to such things - clothes was something they usually did not easily get used to, it took time but Skye wasn't the first one and it wasn't problematic.
"Guess you don't like clothes," the woman said and tilted her head while she could hear her brother chuckle. Kit had always been the opposite of her, cheery and happy even though he was the calmer one, more careful. He also felt absolutely uncomfortable down here in the laboratories but there were days, like today, when she had to time to change the places. And it was nice to hear Kit laugh because of something so simple. Secretly Mo was very thankful for Skye to make her brother laugh.
"Come here?" she then asked, pointing at the chair next to them.
Skye hummed to herself as she walked down the halls of what the scientists called 'Calv Laboratories.' The scientists didn't exactly delve into why they wanted ones like Skye here, just that they needed their assistance. Assistance of what exactly, Skye was a bit lost on.
A soft whine slipped past her lips as the young female tugged annoyingly at her clothes. She understood the function and why she should wear it. So she wouldn't get sick because the winters where they were located were absolutely brutal. But the clothes were really uncomfortable for her! As someone who didn't wear any more than the necessities, Skye did not appreciate having clothes shoved onto her body. It wasn't long until Skye pulled the sweater off and dropping it nonchalently onto the ground, then her undershirt. Leaving her in her bra and pants -that honestly came off quite quickly too.
Stripping her shoes off, Skye had a delighted giggle as she skipped down the halls, ignoring the trails of clothes she left behind her and completely oblivious to the looks she was getting from the other people in her vicinity.
@Beatrice White Watching with a small amount of fear still present, Jagger tried to stay calm. "Yes, I was..." He answered in a still quiet and shy voice managing a small smile as he listened to the doctor speak. "It's fine, I understand... I think..." Nodding Jagger looked away and towards one of the 'walls' of the cage. "I'm sorry if I scream... I have a tendency of doing just that..."
@Jagger With a touch as gentle as a feather, Beatrice tried to roll his sleeves up a bit and check which of his vains was best suited for the extraction. "Were you born in here? Sorry, I couldn't get your file before coming to meet you..." she said as she tied a band tight on his upper arm. "Small talk and looking away might prove helpful to ease you from the slight sting..." she suggested as she took a bit of cotton and wetted it with some alcohos rubbing it on the vain.
@Beatrice White Jagger managed to move himself a bit closer to the doctor when she patted a spot in front of her. He was still scared, but he hoped that he would just be able to get this done and over with if he listened. He nodded a bit at her words, listening to everything she had to say. "Okay..." He attempted a small smile but couldn't keep it for very long, looking at the needle and not liking it.
@Jagger Seeing him scared she sat down on the cage floor and patted the space in front of her for Jagger to sit down as well. "See, I am new here, and you are my first patient. When I became a doctor I made an oath to not bring harm to any living soul and that includes everyone that I can care for." Trice said as she put the notepad, flashlight and needle to the floor next to her before she crossed her legs. "Forgive me for being a bit scared, you are the first hybrid I have ever seen upclose and alive... It is only natural to fear the unknown the first time... How about we do the sample extraction first and if it hurts, we can take a break before we continue?" she offered with a smile trying to somewhat break the ice with the male in front of her that she realised was equally frightened.
@Beatrice White Seeing the needle, Jagger scooted a bit further away until his back hit the corner and he whimpered. He didn't like this. Not one bit. How was he supposed to not be scared? And how was he sure he could believe she wouldn't realy hurt him? It had all been said before. And it scared him. "Are you sure...?" He asked after she told him she didn't want to hurt him. He wasn't sure, and he couldn't help but to be scared.
@Jagger Small steps took Beatrice to the cage door and soon past it and towards Jagger, the big notepad still in hand. "No need to worry Jagger, it says I only need to check your vitals and extract a small blood sample, it won't hurt..." she said as she got a small needle and a flashlight out of her robes smiling at him. "See, nothing that will hurt you. Just like a bite of a mosquito." Trice said as she reashed to the male and touched his hand. "I really don't want to hurt you!"
@Beatrice White Jagger looked at the doctor with a bit of fear, and backed away into a corner nodding slightly. "Yea..." His voice was quiet. He noticed that she was scared, and it made him decide quickly not to trust. When people were scared of him, they had a larger chance of hurting him he had realized over the many years he had lived in his cell. He didn't want that.
@Jagger Seeing how neither the hybrid was used to this sort of thing she sighed and took her googles of blinking at him. "You are Jagger, right? I am Doctor White, Beatrice White! It's nice to meet you!" she smiled though did not make any moves to get inside the cage afraid he would hurt her. "I am here as a substitute for your tactical doctor who called in sick. Would you mind me getting in the cage too? Sorry, I am not allowed to bring you out." the redhead went on with a gentle tone.
@Beatrice White Jagger had always hated check ups. Just everything about them was horrible in his opinion. And his doctor never seemed to help, as Jagger was always treated harshly. He hadn't been aware that his doctor had called in sick that day, so seeing someone else walk into the office shocked him. "Hi..." he spoke in almost a whisper, not knowing exactly how he should act around the woman. He had never met her before, so he didn't know whether to trust or not. The exact way he was with everyone new that he meets.
@Jagger For Beatrice it startes like another day at work. Her flaming red hair caught in a bun and out of harm's way, her white robe with her nametag over her clothes and safety googles covering her emerald eyes from fumes and flying particles in the labs. Still new in the whole ordeal, she was to see how other scientists would work and get into a program herself until her higher up passed her a generally big notepad and announced to her that she was to go to a hybrid for the usual checkup another doctor run on it since the said doctor called in sick.
Somewhat excited and nervous, the girl walked into the other doctor's office where a caged man with cat ears and a tail sat caged. "Hello." she said in a small voice to not scare or annoy the creature as she gently stepped closer to the cage.
