There are two ships in this role play, but there is also a village in which non-pirate people can stay. Women are not allowed on the pirate ships and must stay in the village, though they can have affairs with pirates, be a noble or working class woman.
Below you will find a list of each rank and what is entailed for of that rank. When applying you must specify whether you want to be a sailor, noble or commoner. To become a lieutenant you must prove that you are worthy of that position. The jobs listed beneath each rank show what you need to fill in on the application and what is required.
NOBLES
Nobles can be both men and women. You may be a duke, duchess, lord, lady etc. Their jobs are to go around town, take care of their business, look fancy, complain about the pirates and handle their own affairs. Being a noble will allow you to live a life of luxury.
COMMONERS
Commoners may be both men and women. Being a commoner, you may have a job or work for a noble. A couple jobs you may have as a commoner are, gardeners, tavern owner/worker, grocery store owner… You will entail what job you wish to have in your application.
CAPTAIN
The captain is in charge of everything. You heed his commands, you follow his orders and you do not question his authority unless you are his lieutenant and even then you do so with caution. Whether your captain be logical or flighty, you must do as he says which means follow him into battles and chase after him into danger, and even take a drink when he asks you to. It is the captain’s job to find maps and routes in the ocean, organize raids and to keep his crew alive. He is also supposed to see over his lower ranks to see that the ship is being run properly. Essentially, he is the head honcho and you cannot defy him.
LIEUTENANT
The lieutenant is second in command to the captain; his right hand. If there is ever a case where the captain is absent it is the lieutenant’s job to oversee that things on the ship run smoothly. Though the lieutenant is at a lower rank than the captain you are not advised to defy him either as he is able to make decisions just as grand as the captain can.
[You cannot apply for this spot, you have to earn it.]
SAILOR(S)
Sailors are the lowest rankest members of the ship. They must heed the orders of the captain, and lieutenant. Each sailor will be assigned to an area of the ship where they will perform their daily tasks to keep the ship running.
[Women can't be sailors.]
Jobs for sailors:
Boatswains: Sailors whom are chosen to be in this category must take care of the upper deck. It is their job to take care of the ropes, crow’s nest, sails and reservoirs kept on the upper deck. If anyone is seen not caring for the upper deck properly, they will be punished as deemed fit.
Carpenters: Sailors assigned to be carpenters will be in charge of the lower deck. Much like boatswains, it is the responsibility of these sailors to make sure that the reservoirs, cargo, ropes, barrels etc. down in this area are accounted for.
Gunners: Sailors assigned to this area are required to care for all the weapons. It is there job to maintain the weapons and make sure they are ready to use (that means canons, all guns, swords, daggers etc.). It is also their job to protect the weapons and make sure they are not stolen or destroyed.
Kitchen: Sailors assigned to this department are required to feed the crew. Keep the kitchen clean.
