@dong youngbae The deep thrum of the bass reverberated throughout the club, seeming to seep deep into her bones and rattle up her spine as Levy sat at the far corner of the bar sipping on her simple Crown and Coke. While she normally didn't mind the sensation, she actually tended to like it most days, at that moment it only heightened her discomfort. With all the cheerful beats and dance music going on around her that had been all but designed to instigate frivolous ion, she felt somewhat out of place amongst the youthful patrons. She wasn't there to troll for dates or even hook-ups, despite what her tight and low-cut black dress seemed to indicate, she was there to celebrate her independence.

It was it: the end of an era, albeit a bad one. Levy should have known that dating that greasy, DJ, piece of eurotrash would lead nowhere good as soon as she met him but she had fallen for his stupid charms one by one and by the end of three months she scarcely recognized herself. A year later and she had finally put the last nail in that rather hideous coffin and she was ready to move on but she didn't know how. One of the things she had let him do was systematically cut her of from all of her friends and as she sat in that oddly-lit space alone she just wasn't sure how to bring any of them back in again.

The woman glanced down at her phone almost hopelessly as she swiped one perfectly manicured, red-nailed finger over the screen listlessly. Levy knew who she wanted to talk to but as she ghosted over his contact she wasn't sure she would be able to make that leap. The last things spoken between them hadn't been harsh, per say, but they had been awkward and she was fairly certain he knew where things were headed before she did. He had tried to warn her but she was still so over-the-moon about the jerk that she hadn't been smart enough to listen.

"I miss you." She mumbled to herself quietly, sure that no one heard it through the din as she finished the rather large amount of fluid that remained in her clear glass tumbler. The heat from the alcohol pleasantly burned in the back of and the small bubbles from the carbonation tingled delightfully as the liquid made its way down. Levy was already beginning to feel the effects as she sat in her stool and weighed her options. With a sigh she set the thing back down and slid it across the bar to the bartender, gesturing to the round man with a finger to make her enough before she turned her attention back to the phone. Slightly inebriated she decided to take the plunge and tapped on the contact she so wished to speak to, bringing up the messages.

Levy tried a few messages, typing them in one right after the other before deleting them again as nothing seemed to suffice or convey the meaning she wished for. After a couple more attempts and the drink refilled, she finally settled on something simple. The girl didn't even re-read before she pushed send and instead flipped the phone over as if that would somehow stop the embarrassment of what she had done. The message read:

To: Youngbae
I ed up and I'm sorry. Can I buy you a drink? You know the place

@amber liu As I see the expression on your face change my gaze from you to the party life behind me as I shrug carelessly before looking back at you. “It’s not a big deal really,” I said knowing that I was the one that wanted to escape from the company surrounding me in the first place. I then gave you a soft reassuring smile before saying “I think they can manage without me for a moment,” I picked up my glass and sipped last of the contents within it. “Besides, I have much more pleasurable company sitting with me right here and now,” It may have seemed as if I was merely throwing out flattery your way but, I was genuinely interested in especially since you were also in the music industry. Not only was I going to be to talk to this handsome androgynous beauty but, also talk to someone on an intellectual level about the music industry. I was quite impressed with you as an artist taking control of your own future.

“I think I’m fine right here that is unless you think should back to my party without you?” I questioned with a hint of playfulness in the underlying tone of my voice as I cocked a brow your way. I was about to part my lips to talk more about my baby girls when suddenly my eyes went from yours to the phone’s light screen in your hand and noticed you were receiving a call. “Looks like you got a call,” I informed hoping it wasn’t your ride.

[honestly, I don’t care really, this is why its hard for me to do non-au cause I like creative freedom lol.]

@miyavi ishihara [] just reading this post really makes me wanna choose his wife as my third character to play for you. I think I have the proper points and time. Would that be okay with you?

Your sweet sincerity made me chuckle quietly and even smile though it was mostly to myself. I had always heard stories about how you were as a person but never thought I would be on the receiving end of any of it, especially not so close and personal. In my head I was thinking it was one of the times I met an idol of mine who really seemed to live up to my dream and I was thankful for it. "I would like that a lot, actually." I accepted with a cheeky grin, only to pause when I realized the party was probably for you and then I felt a little pang of guilt. "I mean, as long as I'm not keeping you from anything."

I glanced at my phone briefly and chewed the inside of my lower lip at the lack of messages as I start to truly worry about my contacts. Fortunately you saved me from my own mind when you mentioned your daughters and I looked up again with a cheerful smile. "How are your daughters, by the way? I hope that's not too personal. If it is you don't have to answer." I chuckled at myself and shook my head again. "We should be having a comeback this year some time as a group. For my solo activities, I don't think I have anything scheduled at the moment. Oh, yeah, I also perform solo. Like, I released my own albums and my own songs. I'm not the best at it yet but I'm working on myself as a writer and an artist too."

@amber liu Listening to your explanation sounded logical enough as I nodded my head in agreement. "Ah, I see makes sense, I'm sorry that made you uneasy. Do mind if I keep you company until your ride arrives?" I asked sincerely as I too was feeling a bit lonely even within my own after party. Although I asked I didn't what for you to agree yes or no as I didn't like the thought of and girl waiting around alone.

Setting my glass down before I took another long slow sip. I then focused my attention back to you as I didn't want you to think of me rude for not giving you my full attention at that moment. I chuckled lightly once I heard your question. "Well, sometimes but not too often especially if I have daughters with me." Another charming smile came to my face once you mentioned you were also an entertainer. That was it, I knew there was something unique about you and I couldn't figure out exactly what it was. "Ah really so you are in a girl band, I knew there was something different about you, anyhow I'll be sure to check you guys out. Do you have any shows coming up soon?"
amber liu 7 years ago
@miyavi ishihara I shake my head at the first question, trying to figure out if I should answer honestly or keep it to myself for fear of sounding like a complete lunatic. "No. I-uhh- nope I didn't drive. I am waiting on my ride though." I try to explain, the color rising in my cheeks ever so slightly but I'm hoping the hue of the lights near the bar camouflages it nicely. In the end I decide to go with the truth, and just own up to my own weirdness as opposed to hiding it; partially because I don't want to lie to someone I respect and partially because I'm just a really bad liar. "I'm not drinking because I'm alone. You know? Girl in the club alone and freaks with ill-intent be out there. I actually got a really weird vibe when I was waiting outside earlier too and I don't wanna risk it." I give you a small embarrassed smile, knowing it's probably nothing and awkwardly trying to somehow silently apologize for my paranoia.

The smile turns to one of genuine joy as I listen to you speak, slowly growing more comfortable right up until the introduction. I almost choke though as you use your real name to talk to me, inwardly feeling I'm not worthy of it but I try to keep it cool. "It's so nice to meet you too. I'm Amber Liu and I'm a member of the Korean girl group f(x)." I explain quietly though I'm fairly certain you have no idea who I am and that's completely fine with me. "Do you normally hang out at a place after you perform? I mean, I suppose I do if there is stuff to entertain me but I usually end up trying to find food instead."
bambi naka 7 years ago
@amber liu "Really why is that? Did you drive here?" 'That had been the second time I've looked at her dead in the eye and she always thinks I'm talking to someone else,' I made mental note before a soft smile appeared on my face. I merely stared at you for a moment sensing you were a bit nervous so I tried my best to put you at ease. Just then my bartender returned with a glass of 1952 Don Julio as I tipped him the push myself off the barstool come closer to talk to you. I took a sip of the shot and just as I thought is was strong as hell yet had a nice smooth finish.

"Thank you very much for coming I'm glad you enjoyed it,"A grin remained on my face hoping it would make you a bit more comfortable with me as I soften my gaze a bit as well. "I love meeting with my fan's so allow me to familiarly introduce myself, I'm Takamasa Ishihara and as you know Miyavi, nice to me you miss?" I said as I extended my hand your way hoping you would provide with your name as well.

@miyavi ishihara My focus was almost solely on my phone as I typed in a few texts to try and get a sense of when I would be picked up. Clubs were never really my scene, too much emphasis seemed to be placed on hook ups and ual attraction which always seemed to leave me out. Only a few times had I ever had fun in a nightclub when a concert wasn't involved and that's because that night everyone left me alone and I was able to just let it all out on the dance floor. Gauging from the vibe I was getting, I didn't think it was one of those nights.

A familiar voice near me startled my from my concentration and I looked up with wide eyes, quickly turning to see the source until my gaze fell upon you. Once again I glanced around in disbelief like I had earlier during the performance, smiling as I came to the same and seemingly unlikely conclusion. "No. Not tonight." I answered back, politely tucking my phone away to give you my full attention. "You really killed it out there tonight. Thank you so much for the show, I had a great time."

@amber liu It wasn't too long before boredom seemed to set in. I as the people around me chatted amongst themselves I began to feel as if I was beginning to fade into the background. I shrugged my shoulders careless at the thought as I quietly slide out of the booth hoping nobody would notice. I picked up my cocktail glass to sip on my drink only to then realize it was now disappointingly empty. "Damn," It was most certainly time for a refill. With that decided I made my way downstairs towards the bar.

With a sincere smile, I greeted the bartender and asked for his finest tequila. As he disappeared to the liquor cabinet let out a small sigh as I waited there patiently. I twisted around in my bar stool absentmindedly as I looked around at the structure of the building and all its unique theater like features. My focus then began to run through all the faces of the partygoers before I recognized a familiar one.

'Is that her or is it a guy?' I questioned myself carefully trying to make sure I was certain it was indeed who I thought it is. I tilted my head and merely watched you curiously for a moment trying to figure out what I could only assume could be fun facts about you. I then began to ponder how long would it take for you to notice me as I now wanted to make it an interesting trivia game before I spoke up. "Not drinking anything tonight?"

@miyavi ishihara Time seemed to drag on as I waited for my ride on the curb outside the club. More and more the people who weren't actually just there for the club seemed to take off for the night, leaving me more or less alone. I glanced around the open area with growing curiousity as the tiny hairs on the back of my neck seemed to prick up, giving me that unsettling feeling of being watched. The sensation made my skin crawl as if a hundred thousand ants were scurrying over my body but I tried to write it off as being paranoid. It was only as I realized that aside from the bouncer half-way down the sidewalk I was quite isolated and vulnerable.

I stood up again and moved closer to the entrance, still unable to shake the feeling but intending to wait it out as I heard the deep thrum of rolling thunder in the sky overheard and that made the choice for me. As I neared the bouncer I showed him my wristband and dipped back inside the club, hoping to feel safer and more secure in the numbers while I waited for my ride to reply. Had they fallen asleep? Forgotten about me? Normally I would have driven myself but I didn't want to risk it in case I drank but I was beginning to think it would have been the smarter option.

The feeling of being watched seemed to fade as I disappeared into the crowd and made my way towards the bar again. I wasn't going to drink, not with the eerie feeling I was having, but I knew the spot was a visible and relatively safe place to chill until I figured out what to do. Taking a spot between two amorous couples, I whipped out my phone again to try and contact someone.

@amber liu Once I got the ok that the crowd was now disappearing into only a few small groups of people I was finally allowed to go out and mingle with staff and a few fans. Once again my mind wondering back to the cute girl I saw earlier hoping that you would somehow still be in the room. I wasn't really sure what it was about you that captivated my attention. You weren't like most girls obviously but there was something about your energy that drew me to you.

I stepped out of my dressing room backstage then headed out be greeted by one of my crew members with a few shots of tequila followed by a pleasant cocktail. I smile and greeted most of the fans held a few conversation, took a few pictures and signed a few autographs but I still couldn't find her. 'Where could she have gone? Had she gone home already?' I sighed a disappointed sigh before proceeding to take a comfy set in my VIP section as I watched the last of the party goers down below.

I have my ways to make sure you are as happy as I can make you ok? Dont ask me how it is magic.
*pinches your cheek*
So cute, well as long as you are working on it, I know it is hard on a show like that to do makeup or anything like that,
*walks out with a smile and slides into the car*
So are you going to try to get me a guy tonight?
What kind of guy should I go after?
amber liu 7 years ago
@miyavi ishihara Just watching you with the guitar sent a thrill down my back and it coiled somewhere near the base of my spine but it was nothing compared with the look that came after. All the energy that flowed into me from the song seemed to try to erupt all at once, causing my breath to catch somewhere in my throat and an all-too-girlish squeal to escape my lips. The effect shocked me and I had to bring my hand up to try and quell it, biting down gently on the soft flesh of my forefinger until you moved to the other side of the stage.

In a flash I was back to jumping and dancing right up until the show was finally over. I clapped and watched you walk off the stage, smiling happily at having been there for that performance though a small ting in my chest was sad for it to be over. With a sigh I dumped what was left of my water bottle over my head and waited for the crowd behind me to disperse, fanning myself to try and cool down a bit more. Out of the corner of my eyes I could peek behind the stage, chuckling to myself at the seemingly massive gaggle of groupies and shook my head though I wondered what it was like because I didn't have fans quite like that.

I made my way over to a merch booth and picked up a couple of t shirts before finally getting outside. The cool air was nice and refreshing as I strolled along the left wall of the building for a semi-clear spot to sit and wait for my ride. I fished my phone out of my pocket and texted a few of my friends who had also been at the concert to make sure they made it out okay and relaxed, watching the flashing and blinking of tail lights as everyone seemed to be trying to leave at once. Shaking my head at a few of the more intoxicated ones arguing over which one of them you looked at the most, smiling at the little memory I had of our wordless exchange and simply glad it happened.

@amber liu My gaze went down as I played my guitar rift. Stroking and strumming it to the beat as I was becoming one with music. I eyed the get before looking back at the cute tomboy in the audience bit my lip giving you a look that basically read I know you like this don't you?' With one last look I walked over to the other side of the stage as I began clapping my hands to get the crowd more involved. They went wild, screaming, singing and jumping along with me."Thank you! Have a good night everyone!" I said as I concluded my final song. I waved to my audience goodbye before looking over at you in particular with a suave smile on my face before disappearing behind the curtain.

I was escorted to my dressing room and assisted by my team who congratulated me and I thanked them for their hard work before heading to the room. There was already a huge line for groupies screaming and shouting for my attention but I merely waved to them before retiring to my dressing room. There I cleaned myself up a bit and poured myself a glass of wine relaxed next to my manager. We talked for awhile about the show and a few up and coming ones as well. This gave me to catch my breath and plan out my next big move. As my manager and I concluded our business took moment to collected my energy once again but, it wasn't too long before my mind went back to the cute girl I saw in the audience.

@miyavi ishihara The energy packed into the small club was exciting and electric, working its way through my diminutive frame like some kind of Jacob's ladder. I shouted at the top of my lungs, voice hoarse and cracking as I joined the chant to desperately plead for you to come back out. The whole show had been epic, lengendary even, and at that moment I would have given anything for it not to end. Besides, I had just finally worked my way through the makeshift pit to be just mere feet from the stage and I just couldn't let that be for nothing.

As you came back out again I felt my knees go weak and once again I screamed along. My face hurt from smiling so much, every inch of me was soaked with sweat but it didn't matter as long as you were there under those lights and as soon as the subtle beat reverberated through the club I was entranced again. I could feel the music all the way to the depths of my bones and it was intoxicating like a drug that I never wanted to part from.

I joined in singing along, dancing to the sensual melody in my own way until I caught a glimmer of your eyes under the stage light and it stopped me dead. At first I glanced around in disbelief, thinking you were looking at someone else near me and almost convincing myself of it too but the angle of your gaze was unmistakable. My smile turned shy for a split second but I let it go, choosing to live in the fantasy for the moment and just loosing myself in it. I cheered, sang louder and danced with more passion as my tiny way of showing my fan love and admiration for your work.
bambi naka 7 years ago
@amber liu I could hear them behind the curtain. "Encore! Encore! Encore!" Shouting for me to come back and bless when with the rhythm and melodies of my guitar. As I stood there with my team getting ready to take me off stage I refused and decided to go back out for one last song to appease my fans. The curtain lifted I stepped out to the stage. My hand raised up high smiling to pleasant grateful for their cheers. This was the one true place I could be free, that though alone fueling me I signaled my band to hit it as they played my songs 'secret'. As I played my guitar I sang and danced while scanning over my audience look through all the pumped up when I saw you in the crowd. I gave you a secret eye smile well looking you dead in the eye smiling to myself.

"Don't let the beat stop
Between the sheets yeah
I know you like this, oh
Tell me your secret
I'm going in and out
The sin repeats yeah
Your body's screaming, oh
Tell me your secret"
