@Song Joohee (Hylian) The girl was cute, and seeing the hopeful and relieved look on her face made Ashley's heart swim. She looked as though she had fallen in love at first sight, but Ashley assured herself that was only because she was in love with the idea of surviving and not because she had fallen for Ashley so easily. She was standing on the edge of her life, and Ashley happened to be the one to show up to save her. Even if she was blindly in love because of that, she would quickly come to her senses once she brought to a cooler area and could think clearly again.
When Ashley mention that there'd only be five minutes to get to Gerudo Town, the girl seemed doubtful in the possibility of making it that far in that amount of time. With a confident smirk, Ashley pulled one more item from her bag. The item was an emblazoned shield, an extra shield that Ashley carried around with her just in case her own personal shield broke. She'd make an exception this time, and let the cute hylian vai borrow the shield as she needed it. "Hurry?" Ashley asked, holding the shield. She gave a loud whistle to call whatever train sand-seal was the nearest, and she handed the shield to the hylian. "Have you ever surfed with a sand seal?" Ashley asked, grabbing the reigns attached to her little friend, and she tossed her own shield to the ground. "Grab onto me, and we'll make it back to Gerudo Town in no time at all."
@Ashley Choi (Gerudo) Elbows on her knees and her head resting in her hands, Joohee was honestly thinking that this would be the end of it. She would no longer be able to sell food, or travel and see the beauty of the world. She had trained every day, she knew how to battle monsters, but of course the one thing she didn't know how to do was survive the desert heat. How could she have been so foolish? She knew that she should have done some research before coming, but she didn't think it would be as bad as it was. About to lose all hope Joohee heard faint footsteps coming toward her, of course she thought after being in the heat for so long she was imagining things. That was until she heard a voice.
Looking up she seen a Gerudo, more like her knight in shining armor. Knight? Well whatever it was, she seemed to be trying to help Joohee, and she would be foolish not to accept the help. She couldn't exactly respond as even after drinking the water, he mouth was still dry. Taking the elixir, Joohee examined it for a short time before nodding, a small thank you escaping her lips. Five minutes? She wasn't sure how far away that was but if she wanted to get there alive, she would have to move fast, and Joohee didn't know if she could do that. Of course, if she wanted a second chance at life, she would have to try. Taking the elixir, Joohee grabbed her bag, she wasn't going to leave her goods behind, it had food for her and others inside it.
"We should hurry then. I'll try my best." She said trying to give a soft hopeful smile, standing off the rock. She was determined to get to Gerudo town alive, even if she barely made it. Even if the town was not where she was headed at first. It would be a good destination to sit and rest for a while, and perhaps sell her foods.
@Song Joohee (Hylian) It was typical for the Gerudo Town Guards to venture out into the wastelands, checking the far corners of the desert, looking for poor travelers who had got lost on their way. Any fool knew that going into the desert unprepared was a bad idea, but that didn't mean that those who weren't fools knew exactly how to prepare. That's why the town guards took their job seriously and looked for lost travelers throughout the week. There were a few days throughout the months that the guards would relax, and they wouldn't be bothered by a trip out to the wastelands to make sure there were no travelers who were about to meet their life's end. Ashley didn't really agree with that, especially when one of those days happened to be one of the hottest days in the past few months, and she knew that it was possible for people to be traveling on any day of the year.
Ashley had made this trip out to the East Barrens and the East Gerudo Mesa a few times in the past year, but she'd never actually seen anyone traveling on the days that she'd go to check. Despite most of her efforts being futile, she never gave up, fearing that the one day that she didn't go out to check would be the one day that some poor traveler would have gotten lost in a sandstorm and taken by the desert heats. Today was one of those days, as it was just too hot. Honestly, the heat was almost unbearable for Ashley, which was exactly why she knew she had to come out this far to be sure that there was no one all alone out here. It was easy for non-Gerudos to get lost around here as the desert was blocked off from the rest of the world thanks to the Gerudo Highlands. The mountains blocked the view of the castle, and even death mountain, which were two very important landmarks for Hylians to find their way around their homelands. Those landmarks didn't exist this far out to the west, so it was easy to forget that this place was even in Hyrule.
Good thing, too. Just as Ashley was about to turn around and head home, she saw a dark silhouette sitting off on one of the rocks, and she just knew that it had to be a foolish Hylian who had probably decided to give up hope of ever making it out of here. Sitting on the rocks, Ashley knew, was one of the worst things to do in this heat. Rocks stored heat themselves, so they only made the one sitting on them even hotter. Ashley approached the figure and saw that it was a Hylian girl right around the same age as Ashley. She was cute, but Ashley could tell that she was exhausted from this heat, and she look very much like she was just about to give up hope...if she hadn't already.
"You have seriously got to be at least a little insane if you thought that today was a good day to travel through the desert," Ashley said as she approached the girl. She removed her pack from her shoulders, and she opened it up to pull out an elixir that she carried around just in case. She handed the bottle to the girl. "This is an elixir with level three heat resistant abilities. It's the only one I have, and it'll only last for five minutes, so we'll need to move quickly if we plan on getting you back to Gerudo Town alive."
Ashley didn't even bother asking the girl which way she was headed. It was either out of the desert, or further into it. All Ashley could think of right now was how she couldn't really do anything for her until she was in the safety of Gerudo Town.
@Ashley Choi (Gerudo) Food. That is what Joohee sold in her travels. She sold food to those who couldn't come across it as easily on their own or couldn't grow anything. She had butter, milk, cheeses, rices, and a ton of wheat that she would pack away neatly in her bags, and even had good cooling systems for the milk and cheeses. In her travels Joohee would normally skip the Gerudo wastelands, as she knew that the heat would be too unbearable for her to handle. This time, however, Joohee thought she would take her chances, see something that she hasn't seen before and possibly see the beauty of the world that she was missing out on.
The only thing running through Joohee's head now was, how? How did she manage to get this far into the desert without dying of a heatstroke, and why hadn't she turn around at the first sense of it being too hot. Did she carry too much luggage, or maybe she was wearing too many layers of clothes? She wasn't exactly sure, but whatever the reason, the young girl had to sit down on a nearby rock, grab her water bottle out and take a drink. She was too hot to even have the energy to try and get out of the desert, and it was coming to the point that if Joohee didn't find any help soon, her life would be taken by the strong desert heats.
