"i know," she answered, tone as soft as her eyes, shoulders slumping. "but you also know that it's my duty, right?" it was her duty, to her country, to her parents who weren't truly her parents. it was her way of paying them back for taking her in, when she was supposed to have been killed with her people back then. it was a dangerous way of showing her gratitude, but she knew no other way to do so.

"a breather," she repeated. "that sounds nice." that did sound good, but she wasn't the type who'd just take a break when she knew she could be doing some other things -- or she was just too tense to even relax. she raised an eyebrow at the male at the mention of a party. "a party?" she was unsure how to feel about that - unlike some soldiers, if she was going to mention one, it'd be her brother, she wasn't that fond of parties, always unsure of what she was supposed to do at one. she moved toward him, plopping onto the space beside him. she leaned against the couch, appreciating for its softness. "a party... are you sure you'd want me here at your party? you know i'm not really... good with that." she looked at him with eyebrows furrowed, the corners of her lips curling down. "i probably wouldn't even know anyone there..."

@kim minkyung。enyo jun replied to her apologetic expression with a bittersweet smile. there wasn't anything to be sorry about but, because of his headstrong attitude, he just wants her to be safe - even if that meant taking a break from the battlefield. "if only you could stay here and be safe. i don't like seeing you hurt, you know." he whined as his smile faded into a soft frown. just imagining her out there sent him chills. he definitely had to give her respect for having to deal with those traumatic images everyday. in the end, that only makes him even more anxious. "that's no problem, darling. the night is young, don't you think?" he replied as he took a look at the nightly world briefly and inhaled a deep breath of the wind that's forcing its way into his home before closing the door, shutting it out.

he busied himself by going back to the kitchen and poured some red wine into two wine glasses. "i've never been better. you, on the other hand, need a break. ever thought about that? take a breather while you're young?" he advised as he gracefully placed the bottle at the edge of the counter and lifted the glasses while making way towards her. "sit and have a drink. you're in luck since i'll be having a party later." he winks jokingly as he sat down on the comfy white couch, patting the cushion next to him as he took a sip of his wine.

But he felt warm and comfortable, securing, and she almost wanted to pull him back to her once he let go—but she had self-control and she could stop herself from lifting her arms, the pain her shoulder helping with it. Her eyes lingered on his figure for the briefest of moment, wondering for a second if he had brought a girl recently—which was most likely the case—before the corners of her lips curled up into a small smile, her expression taking on an apologetic one. “I’m sorry for worrying you,” she said, “and for disturbing you this late.”

She removed her shoes as soon as she stepped inside, lightly wincing when she remembered that her left shoulder was injured. It was going to be a problem—her left hand was her dominant hand, and she was bound to use it more often than not. The familiar scent of vanilla reached her nose, and a smile once again fell on her lips, entire body relaxing, shoulders slumping. “How have you been, Jun?” she asked, turning back to look at the male, expression soft and so far from the cruel looks she had on the battlefield.

@kim minkyung。enyo shadows began to appear as dusk finally made its appearance of the day. the trees continue to sway against the unavoidable wind picking up as it became darker. jun was casually cleaning bits and pieces of his home from his get-together the other day. after, what seems to be, the third time, he found unwanted lingerie peeking through the crevices of his kitchen. he shook his head in disapproval as he picked up some cleaning products out of his unusually clean closet next to it. he gave the countertop a small sprits as he threw the garments out of the window, he swiped the dirt of the surface with a seemingly clean washcloth loitering around a table. as he heard the door rang, he paused to blink in confusion. he wasn't expecting company until later, so he was fairly curious to see who it could be. he walked pass the kitchen and grabbed a dusty rose-colored robe to cover his blatant , making sure to wrap it loosely against his waist.

he approached the door with fingers combing through his blonde hair, he always wanted to look presentable so it was natural, and cleared his throat to avoid awkward silences. he opened the door to find his longtime friend arrive at his home. "minnie!! there you are - i was so worried!" he said with his signature overly-zealous tone. with a big grin, he reached out and gave her a big hug. once he let go, he made sure to examine her closely. "before i ask about your shoulder, come right in. you must be freezing!" he said as he stepped to the side to welcome her in his lovely vanilla-scented home.

@park junhee。cupid It had been definitely a long time since Minkyung had last stepped into this area of residence, her feet too used now to the battered and rough ground where trees stood proud and tall. The moon shined brightly up in the night sky, stars twinkling around it. It wasn't the best of ideas to disturb someone at this ungodly hour of the day (or night?), but her feet, rather than taking her back to her own apartment, brought her here, in front of the door to her friend's house. She was tired, her left shoulder ached and she could still feel the bullet that had pierced through it, even if it had already been pulled out of her body, and she, after being awake for more than a day already, doing who knew what, could sense that she desperately needed sleep. The correct way to address this would be to go to her own home, to her own bed, and rest her body and soul.

But here she was, her bag thrown over her right shoulder, dressed in the most casual and comfortable clothing she had. She hoped Jun wouldn't mind her presence at this time of the day. She just didn't want to go home to an empty apartment. She lifted her finger to ring the doorbell, hoping that he was still awake. But if he wasn't.... then she could always just go home, because she really shouldn't be disturbing the other just because of her personal issues. She exhaled shakily, waiting patiently for the other to answer.
