@⭒ ᴴ min yoongi the faint noises from outside the rather small but still classy rented room reached sunmi's sensitive ears, the sound giving her an idea of what went on in a world outside hers. it vibrated inside her hears, but sunmi had long gotten used to the soft vibrations in the air, and how her silence never truly meant silence because she could hear /everything/ . she tapped a polished nail above the smooth surface of the table that stood in between her and her male companion, eyes falling onto the chess board in front of her. white to move, which meant it was her turn to move. her cheek was pressed onto her hand, elbow resting above the table,

yoongi had just made a good move, and there were a lot of possibilities that she could go with. careful calculations were made in her mind, as though she was seeing the chess board in a digital screen, probable moves being highlighted. chess had always been her favorite sport, and had always excelled on it, which was why there were nearly no one who wanted to play against her, because her victory was always assured. she hadn't met anyone who could beat her in a battle of strategy and tactics yet, and frankly, she /wanted/ to meet one, only because it was getting quite boring, though she couldn't imagine someone ever beating her in this regard.

it was her best feature, after all.

but yoongi was an interesting man — and somewhat entertaining, enough not to leave her days dull. sunmi reached out a hand to touch a bishop, moving it to the left. placing it down, a proud grin painted her lips, and she turned her eyes from the chess pieces up to meet the man's eyes, straightening her posture as she tilted her head to the side. "checkmate, yoonbub!" she said rather cheerily, the robotic voice that strangely resembled one that those phone companies developed not really mimicking what her expression showed.

"what was our streak again?" she asked, as if she couldn't remember. like she said, no one had beaten her in this kind of game yet, and she would rather it stay that way. she then leaned back on her seat, stretching her arms upwards, before she stood up, leaning toward the lad. "well, you lasted longer than our previous games, so i'll pat you on the head for that," she said, and did as she said. his hair was soft against her palm, and she messed it up before letting go, sitting back again. taking the glass of mojito from the table, she placed it to her lips, her smile dropping almost immediately when she put it back down.

"say," she started rather, uncharacteristically soft, "what do you think of our lives now?"
