@⚘ : atticus e 。 If there's one thing just as foreign to Deimos as the air against his face, it's the touch of another person. When he was a child his caretaker would never touch him unless it was absolutely necessary. Nightmares that left him awake in the middle of the night with tears streaming down his face? No hugs. Bruises and scrapes from tripping and falling onto his hands and knees? No help. Early on he learned to get used to this, and so the contact of another person from then on would make him shiver - not in a good or bad way, it was just unfamiliar, hence why he may or may not have flinched when he felt the stranger's hand on his shoulder. He barely noticed as his mask was placed back on the bed, trying to get his breathing under control when he nudged it with his foot by accident. The familiar weight immediately helped him start to feel a little better - high strung, but better. With an audible gulp - face still covered by his hands - Deimos shook his head. "I-I can do it..." he said, and his voice was much quieter than it was moments before.

Turning his head into his knees he put one hand out, reaching without looking to take the mask and lift it up. He kept his face turned away from the other as he put it back on, the small, nervous tremors in his hands subsiding. "Sorry," he apologizes again once the mask is secure over his face, blinking a few times and running his fingertips over the edges to make sure its on properly. Only then does he finally turn back to face the stranger - no, Atticus - again. "Um..." Now that that's all over Deimos isn't really sure what to do next, looking at the offered glass before taking it carefully, holding it close to him. "Thank you, for helping me." His voice is so quiet it's almost a whisper, like he's afraid of speaking any louder. "I'm...my name is Deimos."
