@✦ Kris [h] "Honestly?" Hyunjin said and then shrugged. "No idea. I grew up with it and never questioned it." Maybe there were reasons why. But there was no reason why they would be outside in the middle of the night so why bother with it? it was not like Hyunjin was losing any valuable part of his life. He could watch stars from his apartment or go to the rooftop if he wanted to. He then tilted his head, looking at Kris as the other was taking notes. "Incomplete?" He then shrugged, slowly getting a little less tense around the other. It was weird how nice that guy could be, despite the fact that he was from Malum. But it was nice, meeting nice people from that dark place. "Feel free to ask ahead but I might not always be able to answer." He did like to spend his time in the library but he was not filled with knowledge like some other people.
"Mh? Missing parts?" He frowned and took the book in his hands and read. But Kris was right. It felt like something was missing. "I think you are right," he then mumbled.

"Not sure," Hyunjin said and looked around. "There might be books but I am not sure if they are here or... if they have been destroyed. There was a big fire in the library and many books were destroyed." As far as he knew at least but he had a weird feeling. Like there was more to it. That those books had either been destroyed on purpose or been moved. But Hyunjin had been a child when the old library had been on fire so he barely remembered.

"Uff, you are asking me to remember my history class?" Hyunjin blinked and then blushed a bit. "Well, it was a rather tumultuos time back then," he then mumbled, trying to remember. "Not as harmonious as it is now and Malum did not exist the way it does now. Not much is known about the incident and what happened exactly. Getting attacked by a different kingdom is still... something we usually do not talk about here. Trying to keep the harmony and such but honestly... there were casualties but... Who knows. They sealed some magic back then, to protect this place." He frowned and tilted his head. "It's rumoured that the reason the other kingdom attacked is a certain place that holds something valuable but... Just a rumour." Hyunjin shrugged. "No one ever found that place anyways."

@✧ Hyunjin Kris nod over and over listening to Hyunjin’s advice and bits of information. “Oh, a curfew? So, at night people don’t go out? Why?” He asked rather confused turning to look at the other. It made no sense to him and the confusion was written all over his face as he tried to understand what the other was saying. Shaking his head still confused he turned back placing the book down and opening it. While reading Kris took out his notebook starting to take notes about different things. “This feels incomplete…” He quietly muttered to himself before looking up smiling apologetic. “I’m sorry I asked you to join and now look at me all buried in my book. Can I ask you some questions about this?” He pointed at one of the pages of the book about some old historic event. “Parts of this story are missing? Or did I miss read it?” He tilled his head as he looked down at the book.

It wasn’t even something important or some big historic happening it was just a small incident or at least that’s how it sounded in the book but every last one of his instincts told him there was more to the story then what was written here. “Are there any historic texts about this incident? Like witness reports from that time or any historic records taken during that time?” He asked turning to the book shelfs to get up and look if he could find the information he was after. This was really bothering him and he didn’t even knew why but this one event really caught his attention. He wanted to know more wanted to understand why it was bothering him and why he felt like the book left out half of the story.

“You guys learn about this stuff in school, right?” He suddenly had an idea turning back to Hyunjin. Since Kris never attended school, he didn’t think of it before but now that the thought had crossed his mind, he couldn’t help but smile. “Can you tell me what happened back then according to how your teacher taught you?” He wanted to compare the two stories since as far as he had read teacher gave extra information most of them time and maybe they could lead to some discrepancy or hit as to why this felt so wrong to him.

@✦ Kris Shaking his head, Hyunjin looked at the other. “It is fine. The card is free,” he said and smiled slightly. He was really slowly getting a bit more comfortable with the other but he was still having a hard time. He was trying though, so there was that. “You don’t need to compensate me in any way.” After all he had offered to help the people from Malum on his own and he was here to keep to his words and not suddenly turn the people down. They did not deserve that.

Nodding slightly Hyunjin tried to make notes in his head to remember what the other said – as whenever he spoke he spoke a lot and Hyunjin had a great attention span when it came to dancing and movements but when it came to words, he was easily lost. “Well, first you should know your way around here. And the, well, laws.” It were not all exactly laws but unspoken knowledge. “Like… do not cause any trouble or harm. Communicate with whatever or whoever bothers you. Such things. And don’t stay outside too long.” Because the night might hold shadows people did not want to come across while being defenceless. Or at least that were rumours. Hyunjin had only once made the mistake of staying outside for too long and he still regretted that. “But there are a lot of books about common knowledge,” he then added, humming softly. “Most of the knowledge though will come to you the longer you stay here,” he then added which was actually true. “There are a lot of rumours too.”

There was a small smile on his lips when he saw what book Kris pulled out of the shelf and he nodded. “Good choice. It’s a good one,” he hummed softly. They had read it in school and Hyunjin remembered enjoying it. “But do not worry, usually people go easy on newcomers.” At least if they were not from Malum as far as Hyunjin knew but he was really trying his best. “Don’t worry, talking is allowed here as long as you keep it in a normal volume,” he then added and looked at the other. He followed Kris and then sat down as well, a little unsure if he should do it but the other seemed eager to learn so who was he to disappoint and just leave him alone, right?

@✧ Hyunjin Turning to the other with a bright smile Kris nod. “That would be a lot of help. Let me know if you get the card so I can compensated you for your time and other expenses you put into it.” He replied his eyes already back on the building following the other and making mental notes of how-to register so he wouldn’t have trouble later when he got his own card for the library.

Kris turned around to look at the library his eyes wide open in awe and a smile on his face turning back to the other he shrugged. “I think I should start with general knowledge. Like the stuff all locals know. And the work my way up from there. It’s my first time in this city so I’m technically a tourist so I think readying a tour guide to start off is the best thing I can do.” He replied as he walked deeper into the library softly caressing the back of the books with his fingers as he read the titles trying to figure out what books would help him and which were to focused to understand with his current knowledge. It was true this was his first time in Euphoria and even though he had heard of the city before it was still difficult to get any solid information. Anything he would hear was biased and strongly related to the background and thoughts of the person telling him the information.

Stopping he looked at a general history book of the city pulling it out he thought it would be a good idea to start with this. He turned to Hyunjin with the book in his arms. “I think this would be a good start so I can learn about different things and not end up embarrassing myself with a lack of knowledge later on.” He chuckled softly but quickly covering his mouth to keep the sound in not wanting to be to loud in the library. With the book in hand he found an empty seat playing it in front of him to go through it first and take notes and later look up interesting events in more detail. With a smile and a not to the seat next to him he invited the other to join in on his little history lesson hoping he might get some information right away by asking the boy instead of heaving to look them up by himself.

@✦ Kris Nodding slightly, Hyunjin noted the other’s name down mentally. Kris. That was easy to remember after all. Though he wasn’t sure if he would see the other after this ever again. It wasn’t that Kris was giving him a bad feeling, it was just that Hyunjin was still sensitive after the kidnapping and even though he tried his best to get used to the people again, especially those from Malum who had most likely never harmed anyone ever before, it was hard. “Sure,” Hyunjin said and showed the other a small smile. He felt sorry for being distant but he was really trying.

For a moment Hyunjin thought of making smalltalk but then the library came into view and he dropped the idea. He wasn’t good with smalltalk anyways, he either started to ramble or went quiet if he tried smalltalk so there was that. Aside from that he still wasn’t sure what to think about the other – though seeing his eyes go big was adorable.

“No, you actually need a card but I have one and can take you inside with me,” Hyunjin offered. He knew it was harder for the people of Malum to get a card. “I can get you one too. Card, I mean.” He could just ask Minho to get him one and the other would probably not even hesitate and do so. He supported the kids of Malum to come over after all. “Follow me,” he said and opened the door, going inside with Kris and swiping his card so they could enter the insides of the library. While the system to get in was modern, the insides of the library were anything but modern. The building was old and so where most books. He really loved the smell in here and Hyunjin was once again reminded of the fact that he should come here more often.

When he heard Kris' question he looked surprised at him and just stood there dumbfounded for a long moment before he nodded. “Yes, of course,” he said and smiled weakly. He did have time after all and they were in a safe space. Aside from that he was doing Kris wrong. The other was nice and friendly and just wanted some good books and knowledge, right? “Okay, how can I help you? Anything you are exactly looking for? Or does it not matter?” Curiously he looked at the other and tried to not show how uncomfortable he felt. It wasn’t Kris' fault after all.

@✧ Hyunjin Stopping in his tracks Kris suddenly remembered his manners. With a bright smile he extended his hand. “Nice to meet you too I’m Kris.” He said just to return to his previous behaviour or ghosting around the boy while walking here and there trying to get as many information in on as possible. Slowing down after the other gave him some information he nodded his head. “Sounds good the library it is then thank you.” He replied taking out his note book to make write down the other things the boy has said to remember them and maybe get back to later.

The curfew wasn’t new to him and since he wasn’t actually living in Euphoria at the moment only having temporary booked a hotel room it was important for him to keep it or otherwise, he would have to wait till the next morning to go home and get some sleep. With that thoughts running through his head he walked over to the library following Hyunjin’s lead.

With big eyes Kris was looking at the library he had to lean back his head to see the whole building. “Wow that’s big.” His eyes were sparkling with excitement at all the knowledge and all the mystery a place like this would hold. “Can I just go in or is there some kind of procedure?” He asked turning back to the boy leading him here and he wasn’t sure how this kind of system would work. At home there wasn’t really places like this or more like if there were a lot of people would just see it as an invitation to grab the knowledge they want and then make sure no one else would get that knowledge.

“If it’s not too much trouble would you help me out?” He was man enough to admit when he was out of his league and this place definitely was throwing him into the cold water head first. It was not only big and filled with books it was also rather old so there were a lot of rooms and corridors and he would definitely need help finding his way through this labyrinth of books and pages and even old script rolls.

(I’m really sorry for taking my sweet time with replies I had a writing block and a muse slump the past week but I’m better now~ So I will reply faster again)

@✦ Kris "Eh?" Hyunjin made surprised as he was buried with so many questions he barely had time to register or even think of replying. Honestly, Hyunjin also had no idea why he had offered his help with this situation as he was clearly one of the people who was pissing his pants when it came to the evil side - metaphrocially, not literally luckily.

The man in front of him was not the first person he had tried to help around but clearly the first guy with this amount of questions. "I... nice to meet you too, my name is Hyunjin. Who are you?" he asked and sighed, brushing through his hair. He knew that people from Malum were curious. He knew they wanted knowledge though sometimes that scared Hyunjin. What would they do with that knowledge? Would they harm his home?

Though he could see the excitement in the other male's face he also had a hard time understanding and hiding his discomfort. Get your together, Hyunjin. After all the guy had done nothing but being curious. No crime, especially not in Euphoria where curiousity was not a bad trait unless you started to do some clear bull.

"So, the librabry is just around the corner. We can go there, if you want to?" After all it had a lot of books about the history of Euphoria but he was sure the other would be interested in. "I don't know if this town has tunnels, might be possible. No forbidden places, you can go wherever you want though we do have a bit of a curfew so please be home before midnight. There have been legends about secret passageways but I have not found any until now." Though his fairy dust might help him with finding it, Hyunjin had never exactly craved on figuring out the secrets of Euphoria. After all, he already had enough trouble with just living alone.

@✧ Hyunjin First time in Euphoria and best chance to get all those old and exciting riddles, mysteries, puzzles and secrets. The current prey had no way of escaping, as the guide assigned to help with the orientation for those ready to redeem their souls it was this prey’s obligation to answer any question and help with all inquiries.

“So, a city like Euphoria must have many secrets and a long history. Can you tell me about it? And the library? What can you tell me about the library?”

It was such a blast such a pleasure to finally be here the city of legends unobtainable until now. All the history it had all the secrets it was protecting. Something as old as time and this well governed was meant to have many secret places and mysteries and today was the day to uncover them all.

“Dose the town have tunnels? Are there forbidden places? Or local legends about secret passageways?”

It was impossible to hold back the curiosity. Even just setting food in the town the air was filled with more mystic energy the one would ever find in Malum. Everything was new everything was exciting it was a blast and ready to be explored.

Kris took a deep breath to calm down his excitement he had waited so long for this day. Especially after he felt like he solved nearly every mystery surrounding his home town there was nothing left. But now, now there was a whole new town right in front of him extending its streets and alleyways like a playing field with endless possibilities. Every small nook and creak could bear a new and exciting puzzle or riddle or even mystery for him. It was exhilarating just thinking about it.
