@yukhei w. The quietness of the place was quite comforting, Hitomi was getting used to the slow day. She was starting to feel satisfied. The bell on the door sang, dancing in the air as an indication that someone just came in. With her friendliest—albeit forced—smile, she looked up and prepared herself to greet the newcomer. But she stopped her tracks when she recognized the customer. How could she not? She always saw him around the dormitory despite not really having a proper conversation with him. Awkwardness started to cloud her senses. It was not that she was ashamed of her job or something, it was just the first time someone who knew her had come so she did not know how to react. She felt her hands weaken, anxious that she might make a mistake or appear to be a total klutz that she was. Taking a deep breath, she decided that her greetings were long overdue so she immediately greeted him politely. "Welcome!" The same friendly but forced smile decorated her lips.

@hitomi h. Today was the day, Yukhei had decided, that he would let the iconic statement “Treat yourself” apply to him. He had dealt with far too much these days—from solving major conflict among freshmen roommate pairings to trying to find the reason behind the passive aggressive messages happening between his group project members. As much as he loved helping people, sometimes it did take a toll on him. What better way then, he reasoned, to lift his spirits than with a dessert? Thus, as soon as class finished, Yukhei started making his way to the cake shop close to campus. He’s only been there a few times, but so far none of his visits have been disappointing. Yukhei couldn’t contain his beam as soon as he saw the shop’s sign in plain view. He nearly skipped the rest of the trip to the front door, opening it with just as much enthusiasm. The fragrance of all the different cakes filtered through his nostrils almost immediately, leading him to sigh happily. He did a quick glance around the store for curiosity of the business, and that’s when he saw the familiar face at the counter.

@yukhei w. Hitomi wanted to go home. It was a slow, slow day. She did not like people but she certainly preferred that there were people inside the shop rather than having an idle day like this one. Even her coworker had decided to skip the day although that was the last of Hitomi's worries—she was fine alone. That's why it was only her, the couple occupying on of the seats as they ate, and a teenager doing her homework while eating a slice of cake. She fixed the cake displayed on one of the fridges. She then heaved a sigh as she made her way back to the counter, her back was slouching. She so wanted to go home. A day so boring as this, no one in their right mind would want to deal with it. If only she was not paid enough, Hitomi would rather go back to the dormitory and sleep. She looked around, as her fingers tapped on the cash register in boredom, looking for something productive to do. Her eyes caught the sight of the towel used to clean up, she took it and started wiping the counters.
