@naeun l. yukhei couldn’t resist himself from glancing over at the library once more.

while he was glad to have run into an old acquaintance and hear her ramble about her newly appointed position as TA, his meeting with naeun was scheduled in five minutes. if he didn’t make his exit now, he’d be running late, and that /definitely/ wouldn’t reflect role model behavior for his younger student.

his student… yukhei still doesn’t quite understand why /he/ was chosen to be her student mentor. after all, they were under different departments, and he doesn’t believe the medical department suddenly fell short of upperclassmen to match with their underclassmen. he’s mused on whether it was due to them both coming in from the same high school—but even in those days, their social circles hardly ever intersected. regardless of the reason, yukhei had accepted the new responsibility with enthusiasm and a newfound determination to be the best student mentor ever.

his eyes drift towards the building again, aware that another minute has passed and he still hasn’t mustered up the courage to interrupt his friend when he notices a familiar sweatshirt in his line of vision. yukhei’s gaze travels upwards and breaks out into a relieved smile at the sight of his mentee. talk about perfect timing. he finally gets a word in to his acquaintance before he’s shooting an arm out, waving in the direction of the distant figure.

“naeun! naeun! over here!”

@jaehyun j. okay. so maybe jiyeon /did/ stumble into something that's supposedly personal. but what was she supposed to do? as a journalist, it was in her nature to be curious and pry. it was her job, basically, to ask and ask and ask, and find answers to the questions she had. granted, she might sometimes overdo it—but she'd simply blame her course for this. her cheeks flushed in embarrassment, and she gestured to the people around them. "it was already a big deal even before i came! have you seen the people who were watching?" she said, before she turned to the lady with a small frown. "and if you didn't want this to happen, you should have chosen a more private area!"

she cleared , but she didn't want to avert her gaze — so she looked at the area between the lad's eyebrows. "well, don't you worry then! with your attitude, i doubt i'd ever want to get into your business anyway," she said, holding her gaze, and she watched the lady behind the stranger slowly tried to leave. unamused, she let her gaze wander around as well, hoping that the attention had dwindled. and they had, quite fortunately.

"being so loud? maybe I wouldn't have had to raise my voice if she had chosen a more suitable location for such an intimate conversation - one that could have gone way better had you not ventured into." jaehyun was perplexed, to say the least. who exactly is this girl before him and why is she so adamant about playing the hero. what he does know however is that he absolutely despised the girl before him. she's everything that he abhors and constantly separates himself from. "the next time you try to play the hero, maybe take some time to know what's going on first - I was merely turning her down and last I checked, that was solely our business, not yours. Embarrassed? her? look at yourself in the mirror first, all that you did was draw in more attention to her. I was about to leave but hey, thanks for making a big deal out of nothing."

the male's digits were digging into the palm of his hand, a habit he indulges within whenever he feels his temper taking the best of him. the female's selfless act only rubbed him off the wrong way and he couldn't stand the very notion of having to be within her presence any longer. "I'm only going to say this once. stay in your goddamn lane and mind your own business."

@jaehyun j. jiyeon's visage morphs into one of annoyance, and she doesn't even try to hide it. "excuse me, but you were being so loud that it didn't seem like it was a conversation meant for two people — and if you wanted more privacy, then you could have chosen a more secluded place," comes her quick and smooth reply. she turns to look at the girl, who's still quite crying, and she wonders now if she's stepped into a place that's not meant for her to venture on. but well, she's already here — she doesn't think she can save herself from this grave she dug herself in.

"and why should i? the girl's there embarrassed herself, and you're being rude about it." she stands her ground, of course, even if the male is quite intimidating. his aura is incredible — strong and if jiyeon weren't used to talking to people wich such auras, she may have backed away. but no, she will stand her ground in this one. "apologize to her."

jaehyun simply loathes the very idea of allowing for others around him to pry into his private life. this rather cumbersome confession is exactly the type of trivial matters he opts to ignore and keep a distance from. with relationships, comes rumors, and with rumors, it opens up a gateway to a dozen of unnecessary drama and the sort, one that could have been avoided if people stick to their own goddamn problems. just as the male was about to turn his back towards his classmate to walk back towards his dorm, the sudden intrusion by a third party has the male rubbing at his temple.

"you've got to be ing kidding me." common courtesy was soon knocked out the window the moment the unfamiliar girl made her unwelcome presence announced. his gaze, akin to a pair of daggers, settles itself onto the petite that all too rudely intruded onto. "first of all, do you not have any manners? were you born without anyone around to teach you that a private conversation between two individuals is not one for you to casually wander into? and as for your question, I did nothing. All that I did, well - what I wanted to do was leave." he retorts, voice rather low and forcefully calm as he attempts to keep his temper at bay, not wanting to allow for the many on-lookers to further indulge in his misery. with a prolonging sigh, he steps forward towards the cotton-candy-esque colored hair girl, blatantly peering down at her. "stay the hell out of this."

with a transparent envelope full of papers and a notebook in one hand, jiyeon sips her drink held by the other. truly, the taste of coffee is one that should never be removed from her routine. it's still a while before her next class starts, and while it's mostly a hassle to be walking to and fro the different rooms and buildings of her classes, she would have to admit that she too sometimes appreciates walking along nature — though if there were less people, she may have appreciated it even more. her eyes follow the center of attention — there are murmurs and suspicious watchers, and in search for the cause of it, she walks along the crowd until she finds herself near the eye of the storm.

the first thing she sees are the tears, and that alone is enough to make her move — temporarily forgetting that she should have analyzed the situation first. but she's already walking toward the two individuals with her own lips curled into a small frown. "hey! what do you think you're doing?" she asks, her question intended for the male as she stops near the two. "what did you do to her?"

"here we go again - same old nonsense." the youth speaks out under a sharp breath, a not at all subtle sigh of sheer bemusement touching upon his lips, soon tumbling pass his cloves as he cards his digits through his locks. the fact that he needed to shift his schedule around to make room for the pitiful little rendezvous simply infuriates the male, wishing he was back within his dork, immersed within his notes for the upcoming lectures. alas, there he stands, wearing a mask of evident displeasure as his eyes scan the female before him, letting her not at all welcomed confession fall onto deaf ears.

"thank you for expressing your interest in me and well, your candor. but truth be told, your time would be better allocated in catching up with your studies. I'm afraid I don't have time to indulge in such trivialities as dating and the sort." the male then follows up his little speech by offering up a listless simper, contours of his lips barely twitching upward, clearly portraying his disinterest in the other. "if that's all you wanted to say to me, I'll be taking my leave now. see you when I see you I guess?" and with that he slides a hand into his pocket, reaching for his phone whilst his gaze wanders to scan the vicinity, rolling his eyes as he takes in the sight of the many on-lookers and eavesdroppers. "maybe next time, it'll be wise to confess your interest in a more private setting, friend."
