By 2050, things were locked in and vampires were now the ruling class. They have had nearly a hundred years of servitude by humans, and a life of prosperity without the worry of being hunted or hurt again. That brings us to where we are today, our present setting at Bite Me Harder.

2020’s pandemic was the beginning of the end for humans, and in the thirty years that followed, humans went from free people who had no worries, no diseases (thanks to Gheata’s labs breaking the code to human immunities), and a period of prosperity, to the slaves that we all know and love now, in their farms and orphanages.

It took twenty-five years for them to round up the last of the Hellsings and burn them all, finally culminating in the summer of 2005, at which time the five covens made a new pact and created their council. Each coven had a leader that sat in on meetings and made decisions on the behalf of their covens. Those leaders also carried the only discretion needed to bring more vampires into their numbers. A set of rules was created that all of the Five agreed to live by, and with that, they began their plans to take over the world. Little did they know how soon they would be able to enact it.

This new dawning era also brought about it a change in attitudes. As the humans began to make great strides in technology and world tensions, the vampires found that their kinds were being secretly hunted since some people couldn’t manage to live quietly. The long-standing unrest between factions lit up again with the initiation of the Gheata vampires and the Hellsing desire to keep hunting humans like animals, hiding their crimes and needs in the dark of night and seedy back alleyways. Stan and Lupei took to rounding up the younger covens to enact the first step of their plan: Take out the Hellsing coven and eliminate the only thing standing in the way of them creating a world that they could enjoy without fear of persecution.

Stan's leader kept an ear to the ground, and in the 1980’s they found the man, Gheata, had completed his experiment, only it went awry. He had created a new kind of vampire. The five covens rounded up as many of these Gheata experiments as they could, and met to determine their fate. Hellsing was against allowing them to live and join the covens, but the other four were intrigued and welcomed the new, different coven to their numbers. Gheata brought along much-needed knowledge about the life, technology, and medicine of the human world that some were happy to get their hands on.

In the 1940s, the Rhazien tried to take over the world once, and they came damn close, bringing about the second world war single-handedly. Not prepared to have the clans exposed, the Hellsings quietly took the lead on eliminating the German faction.
It was around this time that rumors began to spread… There was a human that escaped the culling on the German front, and he had taken vampire blood with him, looking for immortality. Most dismissed it as just talk, the covens still healing from the loss of two of their own factions, but some remained curious.

The seven covens began to have issues in the late 1800’s, when the coven civil war started. Greys were quickly killed off by the Lupei and Vulpei clans, since the Greys tended to treat them like animals, rather than the humans that they fed off of.

There were Seven major covens that ruled the Earth: Hellsing, Grey, Rhazien, Stan, Lupei, Vulpei, and Fieraru.
The eldest ran by the man who was believed to be Abraham van Helsing himself, turned by no other than Vlad Dracul, or, as we know him, Dracula.
Grey were a younger coven whose leader was a freshly-turned vampire who saw humans as something akin to pets, wanting to care for and nurture those that fed them like toy dogs.
Rhazien were a mainly German faction that wanted to rule the world - alone. They were always the most combative clan and incited many arguments between the Covens when they met.
Stan coven were the most beautiful, with their leader priding looks and pedigree over everything else, and disagreeing with the three eldest clans most of the time.
Lupei were descendants of Dracul himself as well, but were put down by the Hellsing coven for their more feral nature.
Vulpei and broke off from Lupei when the covens began to notice more differences than similarities, but remained close, like siblings.
Fieraru were always the underdogs of the covens, keeping old-world magic on their side and looking out only for themselves.

Nobody knows when vampires truly first became a species on our Earth. Some vampires claim that they are as old as time, spawned from Lilith after she was exiled from the Garden of Eden. Some claim that they were only made after humans found their way into the underworld, and made a deal with the devil himself. Even our oldest of leaders know that they are not the first.
