@Barbara Palvin "Mio, what happened to you again?", a petite, frail-looking woman asked, staring at a girl the same height as her. She looked on the verge of tears as she looked at the colourful bruise blooming on the girl's ribs. It was much bigger than the usual ones. Mio whimpered and tried to pull her shirt back down, but her mother didn't let her until she had taken a proper look. "You can't keep getting hurt like this..." The woman grabbed Mio by the shoulders, her back was hunched forward, her head hanging low. Mio had been coming home from school with bruises ever since she'd started at that school. Eiko, her mother, wanted to transfer her to a different place, but they were the only school for children with special needs in all of Sigal. And no normal school would take Mio. Keeping her at home was not an option either. Eiko was raising her alone and she needed to work. Sending Mio to school was the only way to give her some time to relax, but how could she relax when her daughter who couldn't even speak properly kept getting hurt? "That's it, we're going to the hospital." Mio cried out in protest at the word 'hospital'. She knew that word and she didn't like it. She tried to writhe away but Eiko's grip was surprisingly strong. "Come on." Shoes were put on and they walked all the way. Eiko never let go of Mio's hand as they walked. The procedure was the usual: Check-in, wait for your turn, talk to the doctor. This time it was a Dr. Palvin who came to take a look at Mio's bruise. Eiko motioned for Mio to raise her shirt. "Up, up. Lift it up. Yes, that's right." She patted her on the head when she did as instructed. That was however, the last thing she did. Eiko had been having trouble breathing properly for a while, paired with recent cold sweats and nervous breakdowns. She felt dizzy and nauseous and had barely been able to eat, but she was really trying to turn her life around this time and provide for Mio. She was really trying - with all the mistakes she had made in the past, Eiko ignored her own discomfort and pains out of guilt. The result was that now, she lost consciousness and collapsed on the ground. Her heart stopped. [please revive her xD]
