@Ace Felix’s eyes widened a little at the response he’d received. For some reason, he’d thought the man might be pleased to know that the android was constantly trying to make himself perfect still. “I won’t ever be human, but that won’t stop me from being more than a machine.” He gave his head a little shake, straightening up his posture. “You aren’t my creator anymore. I’m my own man,” He answered coldly. It took everything in his power, going against the strange need to fall back into trying to please. He had to insist to himself that it wasn’t worth it.
The long nights spent fantasising about a better existence would return again if he lingered too long. He had to admit, there were some aspects he missed - Felix didn’t have any new improvements now that he lived alone. He just had to deal with what he had, make the standard repairs that he needed to, and then go on pretending that he was nothing significant to the world. Or, if people figured out easily that he was an android, he had to make himself appear as one with limiters.
Even with the response he received, the android wasn’t satisfied. He found he wanted to ask more questions. There was an endless flow of them in his mind, he just wanted to chatter there at the train station for the entire night. But he took a step back, then another, slowly nodding his head. “Mhm. Alright. I’ll- I’ll see you around sometime, maybe. It was good seeing you again Sooh- Ace.”
@★ Lee Felix (h) Soohyun scoffed, his head shaking once more at the androids words. What a pitiful thing it was. Although Soohyun had programmed Felix with the perfect being in mind, Felix was far from human. It only looked like one. Every learned thought, emotion, and physical feelings were only there because of a code. If you delete the code, all of those things wouldn't have existed. If one really thought about it, it was like playing God. Soohyun was and is God.
"Poor thing. Humans don't need to try and be human. They just are." He clicked his tongue at the android and looked away. "You are right about one thing. You are more than just a washing or vending machine." A unapologetic laugh should passed his downturned lips. "You are my creation after all, Felix." His smooth tone was laced with venom and regret. Although the creator had resented Felix for running off, the android was one of Soohyun's best creations and prized possession. Seeing it now brought back an unsettling feeling that pooled at the pit of his stomach. The obsession he thought he'd buried years ago. The anger.
Soohyun pushed the unwanted and toxic feelings from his mind. The last thing he wanted was to have a repeat of the situation from the past. His lips twitched at the seemingly innocent question from the smaller being. Typical. He knew fully well why the android was asking. "I've acquired many new projects that needed enhancements. It's taking up quite a bit of my time. Though, I do try to be careful so no mistakes are made again." He sighed and looked at his watch before turning his attention back to the small machine. "If you'll excuse me.."
@Ace Being told that he had the wrong person, Felix had been about to apologise, only for the comments about him seeming more human now to follow. He drew himself up taller, uncomfortably scratching an arm before he planted his hands firmly into his pockets. He knew he should walk away. Nod awkwardly, and run off, hopefully to never come across this man again. Being around Soohyun made him nervous. Felix had accidentally gotten him into a great deal of trouble, while thinking he was doing an incredible thing that would’ve made his master like him. Oh how naive he’d been. The city had changed him for the better.
“I’ve been trying. I’m more than just a machine, so I try to act as much,” He said slowly, his voice rather small, though unwavering. “I looked for more ways to expand body language and things vocally to appear more human to people who don’t know me.” Felix didn’t want to seem angry, or let the unsettled prickling that spread across his artificial skin show. Such detail has gone into Felix, and while he knew he had a lot of it to thank this man for, the android was still cautious. He’d been expecting to be struck outright, with how angry they’d both been when Felix stormed off. He’d considered going crawling back to his former master more than once, trying to track him down and beg for forgiveness, but pride refused to let him.
“Have you been working on anything interesting recently?” The question was a display of Felix’s own curiosity. It could also be read as ‘did you replace me?’. The complexity of the android’s feelings hadn’t decided whether he wanted to stay and talk or turn and leave.
@★ Lee Felix (h) "The wrong person," Soohyun repeated slowly as his eyes landed on the smaller figure in front of him. His angry eyes ran cold at the familiar face while his lips curled into an unsightly snarl. It looked exactly like the android he poured his heart and soul into, only to have to backstab him in the back and get him arrested. He scoffed when his name slipped past the perfectly sculpted lips he had 'fixed'. "It's ACE." He replied cooly. There was no affection left in his voice nor was there anger. Outwardly, anyway.
Soohyun's eyes flickered over Felix's features, noticing the small twitches and details he had obsessed over in the past to the point of not eating or sleeping. He shook his head and bent over his long limbs, grabbing the envelope he'd just drop, shoving it back into his pocket, and brushing his hands off onto the fabric of his coat.
"I see you're doing just fine now." He paused. "You seem more human now. How lucky for you." He said slowly, studying the android's expression to see if there had been any changes since he'd last encountered it a couple of years ago. There was no particular reason for testing the android other than pure curiosity. Though, if he were to anger the android, it would be a plus.
@Ace Sigil was a rough city, but it was where Felix was safest. Trying to survive was like running your finger down a piece of newly broken glass - you were guaranteed to get hurt. He just had to keep his head down and do what he did best. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t get out for a while. The day had been a busy one - the trains in the area ended up in a loop, so after a quiet deal in which Felix had hacked into yet another bank system and delivered the money for a large cut in return, he was getting off the train to head home.
His apartment was the safest place in the city to him. Not pretty, nor something you’d expect from an android with money in his possession. But it was home, and that was enough. There was no shouting, no wondering what he was doing wrong when his master got upset with him. No - he was a real person now. Felix was aware of himself. He was so much more than a machine, he deserved more than to be treated as one. That man would never find him again, or so he thought.
“Watch it!” The android startled as something heavy bumped into his back. He stumbled, his eyes flying wide as he turned back to look at the offender. “You should be watching where you’re going, or you’ll run into the wrong person one day.” He was about to snap more, when his eyes fell upon the face of the man. Something in Felix’s code made his whole body feel jittery and cold. It wasn’t him - it couldn’t be him. Felix had run away, far far away. Soohyun was never supposed to find him again. “Mas- Soohyun?” He questioned tentatively, experimentally, ready to apologise and walk away if he was disturbing a stranger, though he already took a small step back.
@★ Lee Felix (h) Moving to Sigil was one of the smarter decisions Soohyun had made throughout his 33 years of being alive. After getting into hot waters with the authorities a couple of years ago in addition to losing one of his prized possessions, his life quickly fell apart and he felt the emptiness seeping in. He didn't have anyone else to blame for his downfall. He wasn't a modeled citizen nor was he a decent human being. He was an abusive and manipulative bastard who obsessed over his creations and the money they brought him. He only cared about his own survival.
After his move to Sigil, he served both the Phantom Cobras and the Golden Dragons. Soon after, Soohyun was proposed to by an older e and he lived with her for three years, freeloading as he worked on his projects. After she died, he packed his things and left his stepdaughter as the relationship no longer benefited him. He took refuge in an abandoned building and set up his lab there where he continued to work on his obsession.
This night was no different. He had just finished a trade in which he gave the flash drive to a print to an anonymous buyer for a stack of cash. He discretely tucked it into the inner pocket of his coat and went on his way back towards his lab, head hung low. He was usually very careful, but recently, he had had trouble sleeping. One moment, the man was walking perfectly fine, and in another moment he slipped onto the wet pavement, bumping into someone or something hard.
it was a fairly decent night outside but it was pretty late having it be pitch black outside. It looked to be around 3AM but it could've been somewhat later, he wasn't sure exactly. He peered around the area to try and be more familiar with his surroundings. The Trainyard looked to be an environment he could enjoy. He strolled around for a bit as if he was waiting for someone else but didn't make that too obvious so no one would question him about it, or else he'd have to come up with something on the spot that'll hopefully make some sort of sense to them.
it was late. the night sky was dark and rain was falling all around him as he sat on a bench, poorly protected from the rain. he knew he should head home but a text from his father left a sinking feeling residing in his stomach. apparently, he had decided to stop by and jihoon found that he couldn't push himself to take a single step. nothing good ever happened when either of his parents chose to visit. hell, his cheek still felt bruised from the last encounter.
@♞ Kyo The Trainyard was surprisingly somewhere that Momoko liked. There was a certain sense of adrenaline that she felt everytime she ended up in the area. It was one that she enjoyed immensely. And she was even more glad to be here on business, hunting down some dumb bastard that thought he could take out a loan and then disappear. Frowning slightly, she caught up to the man and crouched next to him, out of sight before she began whispering to him.
"If we're stuck working together, we should come up with a plan yet?" she said, keeping her voice low to avoid anyone around them. "Usually I'd just blow the place up, but if you're with me, I'm assuming that's not what's wanted, hmm?" she questioned.
@♞ Momoko Gumi Silently waiting for the girl to catch up to him, knowing that the higher ups wouldn't want him to continue on alone in the current mission. There was more at stake than just money, an example had to be made and sending out him solo wouldn't mean much to others; having him paired up with the little cyborg seemed to make them think they would be fearsome enough together. Tracking their current target would require him to use the extra hand, as stubborn and sly as this particular miscreant is. Corning him would be their best chance, but he would need to learn what the girl was able to do and work out how they could use each other's skills to their advantage.
Hey guys I noticed I'm currently out. I also am unfortunately unable to rejoin for the time being but I dont mind still being co-admin. But it it's better to let me go I understand lol
