Many eons ago, in a place that modern folklore would refer to as Mount Olympus, there lay hidden a portal to the dimension roughly translated to the home of homes. It was here that the entity known as Creation made many of the first Gods and Goddesses humans know of today. Alongside them, it made a race to serve these Gods and Goddesses and give them children. There is no literal translation in any current language for their name, though Historians have taken to referring to them collectively as Lilith despite evidence of these beings being of any gender.

It is through the mating of the Gods/Goddesses and Lilith that we get the many supernatural creatures we have today. This is where the term "Lilith's Children" would eventually come from. An undetermined amount of time later, they would discover the existence of humans and would have children with them as well, leading to the creation of even more creatures and for even those born human to be noticeably different.

As they watched the humans learn to educate themselves, they decided it was time for them to do the same for their children. In the hope that it would help their children blend in, the Gods/Goddesses found a plot of land in what would eventually become known as Lunaria, New York, and embedded the land with magic. It was here that they established Mystiq Institute, open to all beings as students and as staff, with the goal of interspecies equality. In the end, as beings left the school, most would lead relatively normal lives among the humans. However, not every human was accepting of this or these different species. So after suffering too many attacks, the school decided to change the magic surrounding the area for the safety of everyone.

This magic change would allow humans to pass by the school unsuspecting and see normal humans and a normal school, but as soon as they were out of range of the magic they would forget Lunaria ever existed. Over time, the original Gods and Goddesses would return to their homes, leaving their offspring and descendants in the human realm. For centuries, the Lilith beings would stay behind to teach the young, though over time they too disappeared. As such, it became harder to determine and find those that would benefit from attending the school. So the headmaster at the time created a self-writing book that, once embedded with the blood and magic of Creation, was able to detect potential students even if they didn't live in Lunaria. Once they reached the age of 8, the students would receive a letter along with a coin. This coin allowed them to see beyond the glamour in Lunaria, and once attending the school would be swapped for a school ID. Should they choose to not attend, however, the letter and coin would disappear once the term starts and the receiver would forget ever getting it in the first place. If they choose to not send a negative response, the letter and coin will reappear each year until they attend or until they send a negative response for attendance. This would also occur should anyone leave Lunaria, those memories may sometimes return if they come back though it's not guaranteed. Lunarians that would like to travel outside of the boundary, are given a bracelet that not only has the power to make them look human if they wish, but also allows them to return to Lunaria and not forget.

There are two Primordial beings. Creation and Chaos. The Gods, Goddesses, and Lilith were all made from Creation, though Chaos is known to "infect" and influence all beings besides Creation. The Book of Androma can detect even the smallest amount of Creation's Energy. This means even if someone is seemingly human, if they received a letter then they have a family member or an ancestor that is a descendent of Creation.
