@⁰² chaeryeong l. It was during their first year when their habit of getting lunch together on a particular day of the week arose. Wooyoung and Chaeryeong came up with this habit over a group assignment and the habit remained as their friendship strengthened. They would normally meet in the student lounge, so they wouldn't have to seek each other all around the institution and waste time. Though, today, Chaeryeong was not waiting for Wooyoung at the lounge, nor was she anywhere in sight. Slightly distraught, Wooyoung checked his phone with a pout, looking for a text message of cancelation which he could have missed. There was nothing of that sort. Therefore, he fixed his backpack strap on his shoulder and decided to head to the food hall.

She might have been too hungry to wait, right? Or in a hurry for some reason. But wouldn't she let him know? She would. Wooyoung was pretty certain Chaeryeong wouldn't cancel on him without a word. Especially when he had a request in mind on this particular occasion.

When he finally made it to the cafeteria, he saw her sitting there with her lunch. Odd, he thought, but he still sprung up and bounced over to the table Chaeryeong was seated at. "Hello!" Wooyoung greeted her with a beaming smile and a sing-song voice, sliding on the seat across from her. "Why didn't you wait for me?" he pouted jokingly, dropping his bag on the floor by his foot. "I wasn't late, was I?" he asked, suddenly panicky, though when he promptly check the time, he realized he was not late at all. So... what was going on? There was something in Chaeryeong's usually friendly and earnest face that was not quite characteristic of her. A frown, perhaps? Of disappointment? Sadness? Wooyoung couldn't tell, though it did not dismiss it. "Hey, is everything okay? Did something happen?... Did you fail a test?" by the last assumption, Wooyoung was wary. It would be unlike her to fail a test, even though he also knew it would be detrimental for the change of her mood. But the whole idea was ridiculous to Wooyoung, knowing how hardworking and smart the girl was. Something was off.

@⁰¹ minjeong k. he probably (definitely) looks like an idiot, frantically waving his arm in the air as if he's calling help. he is positive that someone is glancing at him thinking 'damn what the hell is this dude doing' because he literally does not know whether the girl is here or not. he scans the area briefly, hand remaining in air, until he spots a figure walking towards him. he recognizes that someone: pretty? yeah, got that. most likely to look like someone who's named 'minjeong kim'? yup. and it is her. he sighs in relief and slowly puts his hand down to push the carton towards the edge of the table once she approaches. "yeah, you definitely got the kinda handsome part right," he laughs along, gazing at her look before taking out his wallet to return the id. "well, you look the same as the girl on the id. i don't know how you managed to look sane in it because i look like an idiot in mine." he shrugs and finally finds the id in one of his wallet pockets. he slides it across, stopping the card next to the carton, and looks up to give the other a bright smile. "youngjae's the name. i know you didn't ask, but i think it's proper that way."

@⁰² youngjae s. approaching the entrance of the food hall, minjeong's eyes skim the vicinity once before she glances back down to her phone at the expected barrage of reply. despite the heaviness of sleep deprivation that clouds her underlids, a smile creeps onto her lips as she read through the text, laughter emitted mostly to herself at the comical attempt of a self compliment. she reverts her attention to the left half of the seating area and true to his words, she spots a male more or less around her age frantically waving his hands in the air. 'he's so odd,' but she meant it in the nicest way possible, the grin that has curled upon her visage remaining in its place as she heads over to where he was seated. "card guy? brown hair, glasses, kinda' handsome - i'm going to safely assume it's you." her words were spoken through a chuckle, the obviously placed strawberry milk atop the table confirmation enough that she had found the right guy. minjeong wasn't really the type to befriend someone at first meet - she was just extra cautious with strangers. yet, something about this . . . guy, the aura he gives off from both his texts and simply the way he appeared was somewhat . . . comforting. she glides into the empty space before him, hands reaching for the strawberry milk to rip the opening apart but instead of taking a sip she's pushing the carton back towards the latter. "minjeong, by the way. just in case you needed me to prove my identity."

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰² hyungseo k. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. her chopsticks reach out for nothing as her eyes focus on the girl speaking at the moment. when she looks down she realizes that the last piece of her sushi had already found it's way into unconsciously and her shoulder drops just slightly at the thought of having no more sushi for the time. placing her chopsticks into the empty container, she looks up at the girls as she leans back into the table, resting her chin on her palm once more. "so you've got an english major, a business major, a fashion design major and a compsci major at one table. this is starting to sound like a joke but i don't know what the punchline would be."

@⁰⁴ jinsoul j. he silently laughed into his sleeve at the girl's reaction of his way of getting her attention, finding her momentary face of nuisance and irritation a bit amusing. however, the cheerfulness of seeing the familiar face soon faded, as jaemin's lips turned upside down, into a small, concerned frown. the latter didn't look good again; pale, gaunt and unwell. "yes, only briefly, in the lounge, remember squirrel night?" he asks her, holding her food at her request. "are you alright? i can get anything else you need, maybe you should just sit and start eating." jaemin advises, starting to bring her food over to a nearby table. quickly, he puts her food down, as well as his own, before returning right back to her side. "come on, you should sit. what else do you need? i'll get it for you."

@⁰² jaemin n. jinsoul did not enjoy lunch breaks. it's not because she doesn't enjoy lunch, simply, the hour allocated between her classes were too short for her to truly savor her meals. call her a chronic slow eater, but she'd rather put off eating than to inhale a whole plate under 5 minutes and rush to the next class, stomach struggling to digest pieces swallowed in large. but today, she could begin to feel the symptoms of little to no food taking a toll on her body: lightheadedness, cold sweat, shallow breathing, and a parched throat. despite her no eating during break rule, the blonde lass found herself trudging along the hallway towards the food hall. she paid no mind to the other students scuttling past her, to those who may have greeted her, or even sneered at her. jinsoul's eyes were fixated at the doors of the hall kept wide open, and she could almost taste the first bite of heaven that she's unintentionally kept herself away for an hour too long. "hey, let me order." sure, maybe she /did/ abuse her status within the hierarchy of the school to get her way — in this case, however, she'd call it a medical emergency. too tired to even speak, she slips to the front of the line to aimlessly point at her order, club sandwich and a chocolate eclair placed upon a tray as she's busy fiddling out a small wad of cash. her head felt heavier by the second, waving the cashier off with a small "keep the change" as perspiring hands grip onto the tray to shift towards the side, allowing for the line of students behind to their (rightful) turn. her gaze lifts to scan the available spots of the food hall, contemplating whether or not she had enough energy to make it to her little spot outside when a tap on her shoulder reverts her attention back to the food in hand. jinsoul tosses a glance over her shoulder — no one. she lets out an unamused scoff before turning the opposite way, hooded eyes nothing short of a glare to question what this disruptor of peace had wanted from her. that was until a familiar face appeared within her line of sight. familiar, but she couldn't quite put a finger on it yet. "oh . . . we've met. haven't we?" her question was cut short with a pang of headache, and she's holding a hand up towards the latter to tell him to wait. "crap, i should eat. sorry, do you mind bringing my food to that table over there?"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. hyungseo takes sua's phone, inputting her own number and giving herself a ring before carefully reaching over to pass the phone back to her. "i'm not too sure if I'd be much help but i sure can try," she gives sua a polite smile. "the parties are a huge plus, for sure! it seemed like there were a bunch last year and some of them get quite wild. and, I'm a business major and ning is a english major!"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. @⁰² hyungseo k. “i think i will! especially when you guys are going to be it.” she squeezes jimin’s hand back. ning digs into her food, hungrily scoffing down her food. “are there always parties? what are they like?” she looks at the sophomores in curiosity. all she knows about frat parties come from american dramas and films. and if the frats and sororities here were anything like them, she was in for quite a fun time.

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² hyungseo k. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. "yeah, you honestly should join AGA!" she encourages ning with a smile, her hand outstretching for the younger's to offer a squeeze. "the president, jennie, she's super cool and everything, i think you'd fit right in." retracting her hand, she raises another bunch of noodles to her lips, taking it in with the happy wriggle of her shoulders. "what made you join the sorority, hyungseo? because i think i could safely assume that you're sort of, more of the party girl? haha. oh, and i'm majoring in fashion design! yeah, what about yourselves?"

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰² hyungseo k. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. choking on the piece of sushi she had just shoved into her food hole, she takes a quick sip of her drink before turning to look at the newest member of the table, stifling a cough. "it's cute that you are all in the same sorority, but i don't think that's my type of scene, hyungseo." taking another hurried sip, she slides her phone across the table to the girl mentioned with a playful wink. "although, i think it'd be nice to get your number, just in case i ever want to get a tour of the greek lives." as she turns her attention to the other two females, her head tilts to the side slightly. "so what is everyone's major again?"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. she stifles back a laugh, finding the interactions between the new girls amusing, reaching over to shake sua's hand with an evanescent "nice to meet you," before sitting back comfortably in her seat. "yeah, i lucked out with having ning as my roommate," she gives her roommate a knowing smile. "yeah, I just joined AGA this semester. i'm pretty sure i've seen you around, jimin. i figured they offer really good opportunities for... networking and i think ning would really enjoy it." she takes a moment to take a sip of her tea before turning to sua once more. "would i be wrong to assume you're either in or thinking of joining AGA, sua?"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. @⁰² hyungseo k. “we met the day i moved into the dorms but we get along really well, don’t we?” ning throws a wink at her roommate. “and i’m thinking of joining the AGA sorority too, so we’ll all see each other loads!” she looks gratefully at her new little group of girl friends, “i’m so glad i met you guys. please come to our room any time, we’re always down for parties.”

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² hyungseo k. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. with the new presence of ning’s roommate, her face naturally lights up to offer her own introduction—though seeing sua beat her to it, her lips tighten into a smile and she offers her foot Another kick. “you’re so funny, haha. eat your sushi.” she deadpans to sua, soon turning to hyungseo. “hey, hi! i’m jimin, and excuse me if i’m wrong, but are you also a part of the AGA sorority? i think i’ve seen you.” with this, she takes in a small bite of her ramen noodles before speaking once more. “and to answer, sua and i met at a party, then was assigned as roommates together. unfortunately, i think meeting her was inevitable because we’re also a part of the volleyball team,” she jokes. “you two?”

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰² hyungseo k. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. the new girl - hyungseo, she remembers - is stunning. cute might have been an understatement as the only thing keeping sua's mouth closed was the sushi she was currently chewing. with a quick swallow, she reaches out a hand for the girl, lips turned up into a bright smile. "hi, i'm moon sua, but you can call me anything you'd like. this is my roomie yoo jimin, i'm pretty sure she's actually the devil that wears prada but that's a story for another time." she nods her head towards the mentioned girl as her eyes scan the half of the new presence that was above the table. "i'm assuming that you're hyungseo?"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. hyungseo clears , having overheard just the end of the conversation pertaining her as she invites herself to take a seat next to her roommate. "its nice to know that my roomie thinks positively of me," she introduces herself to the two unfamiliar faces. "as for the cute thing, i'm sure you can judge for yourself now and i wouldn't mind hearing the verdict on that one."

@⁰² jimin y. “she’s super fun, i think you guys would like her— and yes, she’s cute.” she answers sua’s question with a twinkle in her eye. “so how did you guys become friends?” she looks at her two new friends curiously. a sorority girl and a tech and science girl didn’t seem like a likely match. starving, she digs into her food, careful not to splatter the soup onto herself of the girls.

@⁰² sua m. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. "yeah, i did! not sure if you liked yours spicy or something, so just played it safe," she answers coolly, turning to ning with an amused smile. "oh, hyungseo? if i'm not mistaken, i think she's also in the same sorority as me. but i haven't met her yet, so i'll take your word for it." parting her chopsticks evenly, she begins to dig them into her bowl of ramen before sua's remark garners her attention, making her kick the latter's feet beneath the table. "just hitting on any living thing."

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. while grabbing her phone, she also grabs the other pair of chopsticks and proceeds to open up the container holding her beloved food. "did you get the same ramen flavors for you both, yim?" her eyes don't leave the food in front of her as she asks. "is she cute?" she throws out the question at the younger female before she shoves a piece of sushi into followed by some pickled radish, her brow raising at ningning slightly.

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. “thank you for the food! food is on me please.” she looks at jimin pleadingly, not used to bring the one not paying in social settings. ning quickly enters her number in sua’s phone, saving herself as “ning ♡”. excited to tuck in, she snaps her chopsticks and rubs them together for a bit, answering jimin while at it. “yes, my roommate is really nice and she’s a ton of fun too! she’s a sophomore too, her name is hyungseo.”

@⁰² sua m. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. with a tray in her hold, she makes her way back to their table, her steps evidently lilting. "alright, i've got ramen and sushi—" seating herself back down, she makes sure to serve ning first with the plastic bowl of ramen, then sua's, as well as passing them their utensils. "so, before i left, you said you had a roommate? that's good! are they nice to you and everything?"

@⁰⁴ jinsoul j. finally, it was lunch time. as soon as his professor had wrapped up the class, jaemin had walked to the food hall like he was a man on a mission. "so hungers.." he whined to himself, pouting. powerwalking with utter speed through the campus's buildings and halls, once he reached the cafeteria, jaemin quickly got into line for his weekly cheat day food; a spicy chicken sandwich with syrup drenched waffles as buns. the lunch hour was just beginning to occur, as it was quarter after noon. luckily, jaemin didn't have to wait too long in line before he got his take-out meal, to which he then proceeded to the next line— the cafe line. unfortunately, when he got to the front of the line, the usual, regular barista that knew him and of his drink wasn't there, and so, he had to state his daily drink order out loud to the public. "one large iced americano, with 8 espresso shots please~ and yes, it's actually 8 shots." he said with a smile, only to receive a mind-boggled look of judgement in return. paying for his order, he stepped aside, awaiting for his drink. leaning on the coffee bar table top, airpods in his ear, he rocked his head lightly side-to-side to taeyeon's 'weekend', the bubbly song rejuvanating to what had been a slow, sluggish start to the day. that's when he noticed a familiar back side; plaid skirt, chiffon blouse, dirty blonde hair and a navy headband. reaching forward, jaemin taps her shoulder. coming to a stand a step behind the latter, when she turns around, he pretends that it hadn't been him to try and get her attention— sharply looking elsewhere with a wide grin. grinning, because the girl had a lunch in her hands.

@⁰¹ yizhuo n. "hmm, that's weird, what classes do english majors and fashion designers have in common?" her brow quirks slightly at the thought before she shrugs at her own question, thinking to herself that it was probably just an elective. "that sounds like a fun idea, i never really liked the thought of joining a sorority, but it looks like you'd be a perfect fit." her lips morph into a softer smile as she copies the other's actions, her phone almost sliding off the edge of the table . "living with jimin means that i'm trying to not die everday"

@⁰² sua m. "actually i bumped into her on the way to class and we exchanged numbers. she's so nice." ningning explains, "but i'm thinking of rushing for the alpha gamma alpha sorority too. i heard they're a lot of fun. and you just sound so smart, i'm sure your workload won't kill you." she offers her a kindly smile, taking out her phone as well and opening up to the add contact page. "you know what, i'm definitely going to need help. and if you ever need help with not dying or whatever." she slides her phone towards sua.

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. "i want to ask how you met jimin, but considering you're like, kinda hot, i'm just gonna assume it's from her sorority?" her head nods involuntarily as a response to the girl's words before a small chuckle escapes her lips. "an english major huh? that sounds fun. i'm actually a math and tech major, trynna get into coding as well but, maybe i don't want to die from my workload just yet yknow?" her phone vibration can be heard clearly as she moves to pick it up, swiping the youtube notification away before lifting her phone towards the other. "so, does the pretty girl have a phone number that i can get? yknow, just in case you ever need help in that class that you seem to dislike" the corners of her lips turn up in just the slightest as she teases the younger.

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. "it's nice so far, i met you guys so it's going great, and i have a really cool roommate. classes are okay, i'm not looking forward to the technology and math class though- i'm an english major." she pulls a face at the mention of her least favorite class on her timetable. she leans in to rest her head on her palm and looks straight at sua. "how about you? what's your major?"

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. a small wave is sent at her roomie as she watches her walk away before turning her full attention to the girl in front of her. her free hand moves to flip over her phone, ignoring the notification on it as her smile grows at the pretty girl. "so, jimin tells me that you're a freshman? how are you liking saebom so far?"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. "yeah, that sounds good. i can order it and pick it up real quick," she offers despite the sushi at home growing cold, pointing to the one of many food stalls before standing up from her spot. "i know what sushi you like, don't worry— i'll be back," this, she directs to sua, soon sauntering off for their lunch. "also, tell me about this roommate of yours when i get back!"

@⁰² sua m. @⁰² jimin y. this sua, she likes her. her lips spread into a wide smile every time sua sent a glance her way. "ramen is fine with me too." she nods excitedly, pulling out her purse to go get the food. "we could get some sushi on the side too, sua, i'll pack it back for my roommate if we can't finish."

@⁰² jimin y. @⁰¹ yizhuo n. she fails to stop her eyes from rolling at her roommate's words as she makes her way to the table as well, taking a seat in the spot next to the aforementioned gal. "so you weren't gonna set us up, damn" a playful wink is sent to the new girl - ningning as she learns - as she leans forward, resting her chin on the palm of her hand. "i think i'm in a sushi mood, but ramen will be fine with me," a nod is sent towards the freshman as a way to address her. "are you fine with ramen as well, ningning?"
