@♡﹕ kim seungmin.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. minho shook his head at both heejin's repositioning and the appearance of seungmin's tongue, but as soon as his head was turned away, he let out a small laugh. these two rascals. it would definitely be a good day. turning back, he still made sure to huff for good measure. minho let heejin take the lead, past the entrance and towards the indoor greenhouse. at the door, minho stepped back to make way for heejin, and he would have followed right after her, if not for seungmin's wink. minho visibly cringed, nose scrunched up and all, before grabbing seungmin by the shoulders and shuffling him into the greenhouse through the very door he had opened. "i'm afraid there won't be much science," minho sighed from behind seungmin. "i'll probably tell you 'that pink flower from earlier on' at the end of the day."
the warm air of the greenhouse immediately welcomed minho as he stepped in, and he peeked out from behind the taller male's shoulder. rows and rows of green unfurled before his eyes, with dots of colour from all the different flowers. minho's grip on seungmin's shoulder immediately loosened at the grand sight, and he let out a small gasp, in awe. coming back to his senses, he fished his phone out from his pocket. "okay, kids, photo time," he called out to the other two. picturing where his two friends would stand, minho adjusted the position of his phone, lowering it a little, tilting it slightly more to the left, until it was just right. with the greenery as the backdrop, minho dreamed a humble dream of creating a /masterpiece/.
@♡﹕ lee minho.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. heejin's declaration of loyalty, though quiet and subtle, had him sticking out his tongue at minho in pride, even puffing out his chest a little as well. the two mini-bickering made him laugh, a soft sound as he shook his head and contented himself with another sip of his drink. perhaps just for an air of mysteriousness, and definitely not because he spoke without thinking, seungmin didnt say anything in regards to his 'making' things interesting. they'd have a good day regardless.
letting heejin do the talking was easy, it seemed to come to her naturally, and it gave seungmin a second to enjoy the moment. he stayed silent as he peered over heejin's shoulder to look at the map, trying to figure out where they were versus what the paper said. but soon heejin figured it out, seungmin laughing as they were swept up in their journey. once at the indoor garden, seungmin reached out to grab one of the doors, having to release heejin (or rather, worm his arm free) to do so, gesturing with a sweep of his hand for the other two to enter. "ladies first. and minho," he delivered his line with a wink, his straw occupying his mouth to fight off any other remarks. "for science reasons, i'll need you both to tell me what your favorite flowers are by the time we're done with this today."
@♡﹕ lee minho.@♡﹕ kim seungmin. she gave seungmin another smile, then rolled her eyes subtly at minho's answers. "of course we're ganging up on you." heejin too walked, but stepped to the other side of seungmin, so that the latter was now in the middle between her and minho—physically showing him where her loyalty for the day would stand. "whoa, such determination, i like it." she said approvingly, keen on the younger male's determination to make the day interesting. "indoor greenhouse, bonsai tree exhibit, seasonal flower exhibit- honestly they all sound interesting to me." heejin listed, remembering a few of the exhibits that she had remembered reading, off the botanical garden's website.
reaching the entrance, heejin then greeted the worker at the front desk, showing them her phone, so that they were able to scan the barcodes. once they were officially in, she went to the nearest kiosk, grabbing a map of the place. opening it up, she looked to see where the indoor greenhouse was. finding the map confusing, heejin then looked up, looking for some signs above. "oh, indoor greenhouse, straight and then left." she pointed out. "leggo, friends!" heejin then butted back to the middle, going in between the two, before linking her arms with both seungmin and minho.
@♡﹕ kim seungmin.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. at heejin's betrayal, namely not taking his side in teasing seungmin, minho could only scrunch his nose. "might have to take that chai latte back," minho pretended to grumble as he confirmed heejin's deduction. despite receiving heejin and seungmin's thanks in their own ways, when minho briefly glanced at both their faces, their reactions were all the thanks that minho would have wanted. minho took a sip from his own cup contentedly.
seungmin's quip then had minho rolling his eyes as he said, "now you guys are just ganging up on me." pulling the straw away from his lips, he nodded in agreement to heejin's suggestion, then took a step right after seungmin's first one. "and what's that supposed to mean, seungmin...? should we be scared?" minho asked, though his footsteps never slowed as they walked to the entrance, which was now within sight. "though i'm sure there's /something/. i read that there's an indoor greenhouse; is that interesting enough for you guys?"
@♡﹕ lee minho.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. seeing both of them look over to him almost made seungmin smile. almost. but he kept his expression schooled for the most part, only lifting a brow at both of their reactions to him. "its very nice to meet you, miss heejin. thank you for inviting me," he said, with a polite bow of his head, and he barely even lifted it before minho was handing off his drinks.
seungmin took it and stuck the straw in his mouth to distract from the smile that threatened to break his regular demeanor, giving minho's side a gentle nudge with his elbow in a silent thanks. "thank you, heejin, we can have faith in one person here," with a playful roll of his eyes, seungmin hummed happily, a small wiggle to accompany the taste of the drink on his tongue. wide eyes turned to heejin, and he lifted a hand to point off in the direction to the entrance, taking the first steps in said direction. "there's gotta be something interesting in there. if not... i'll make it interesting."
@♡﹕ lee minho.@♡﹕ kim seungmin. she stuck out her tongue in the slightest at minho, as if she were really a dog, about to give the latter a mlem. it was her small action of retaliation. heejin then looked to seungmin, dissolving her scrunched up scowl. she grinned again, putting up the same one she had given minho. "i would have waited. glad you could make it—" she stopped, suddenly being handed a cup by minho. "oh, what's this—is this a chai latte?" she asked excitedly, catching the distinct smell of the spiced drink. "thanks, editor lee." smiling, she took a sip. "haha, i've never been here myself.. let's start heading inside. i have the tickets on my phone." with another sip, she looked around again, looking for hanging signs above to see where the group should be headed. "the tree planting event isn't until noon, so we have an hour and a half to look around first. we'll go in, get a map, and go see some exhibits that interest us first? how does that sound?" heejin suggested, turning her gaze back to the two of them.
@♡﹕ kim seungmin.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. minho turned his head upon hearing his name, and saw a girl trot up with a smile on her face. he couldn't help but be reminded of a puppy, and if he hadn't been sure if it was heejin, that was the confirmation he had needed. apparently, small animals could recognise fellow small animals. "says the dog girl," minho said, a polite smile in exchange for heejin's warm one, even with the joke. "but yes, i'm minho. hello, heejin." having wondered the same question, minho's head turned, mirroring heejin's, to look for the third member of their motley crew.
and there kim seungmin was, trotting up to them. another puppy, but unlike heejin with her grin, this one came with puppy eyes. "...no," minho said after a pause, not needing to check the time, for the puppy eyes had already decided his answer for him. still, he added, "if you were late, heejin and i would have made a move already." he took out two of the three cups from the takeaway carrier, passing them to heejin and seungmin individually, in that order, without any explanation, instead choosing to talk over his actions. "i don't come here often," minho said, "so someone else will have to lead us to where the event's taking place."
@♡﹕ lee minho.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. seungmin hadn't expected to be invited, but he was pleased to be attending the little get together. he loved plants. he could be a bit of a nerd about it, like a lot of his interests, but he reminded himself to tone it back today in particular. meeting a new person was an anxiety, even if it was becoming a bit... normal now. friends. he could get behind the idea.
with his hands in his pockets, seungmin made his way to the botanical garden, eyes scanning features before landing on familiar ones, then falling to the drinks in his hands. as he made his way toward minho, he glanced up to see a girl coming over: it must be heejin. clearing his throat, he paused just a few steps away, lifting one hand from his pocket to give a short wave, followed by a two finger salute. "kim seungmin in the flesh. i wasnt late, was i?" he even donned on something like puppy dog eyes as an apology.
@♡﹕ lee minho.@♡﹕ kim seungmin. the weather was warmer for an autumn day. sunlight shone brightly, its strong beams radiating, basking everything there was to see, in a golden hue. clear fall skies lined her world with an infinite, endless stretch of sky blue above her. mother nature was showing off to heejin, flaunting her timeless beauty. heejin sighed, turning around on the spot with her arms out, before she started walking towards the main entrance of the botanical garden. she was excited for what the day was going to bring.
her phone vibrated in her hand, causing heejin to look to her device. a preview had showed that minho had messaged, asking where she and seungmin were. continuing to walk, heejin dialed his number, and was in the process of calling him, when just at that moment, she spotted someone that looked familiar. "could that be... lee minho!" ending the call, she cupped her hands around and called out his name. he responded instantaneously, turning his head in her direction, and revealing his face. with a grin, heejin waved, approaching him. "whoa, you do really look like a human cat." she then looked around him, left and right. "where's seungmin?
@♡﹕ kim seungmin.@♡﹕ jeon heejin. it was an interesting turn of events. minho, notorious murderer of plants, was now at a botanical garden, attending a tree-planting event. a tree-planting event with not one, but two people he had met on an app. one of which had invited minho, who had then invited the other of the two, as per the first's request. was this how people made friends outside of work now? minho felt a little out of touch. regardless, minho had decided to give all of it a try, and in that vein, had even bought all three of them coffee, iced chai lattes to be specific. after sending a short text into their hastily created group chat, minho spent the time waiting looking at the flower bushes, knowing nothing about them other than the fact that they were pretty.
@♡﹕ kim mingyu. Chaeyoung’s cheeks flaired, it was one thing to see ‘princess’ in a chatroom or online, but hearing it in person immediately illicited a shy giggle from the blonde, “My day was.. okay,” She admitted, fingers twisting the end of her semi damp hair, a nervous tic she developed, her fingers itched for something to keep them busy, usually a smoke, or her guitar. “We made some progress on the next album, but theres still a aways to go,” She answered earnestly, “What about you? What did you get up to today?”
@♡﹕ park chaeyoung. His face automatically soften upon hearing the nickname as he sneakily steal a glance at the girl sitting next to him before focusing back onto street with a small grin plastered on his face. "Right? Plus the weather is good tonight so it should be fine for us heh." Mingyu hums in agreement as his hand reaches out to turn on the radio, letting the music accompany them along the way. "So, how's my princess day today?"
@♡﹕ kim doyeon. wonwoo chuckled, appreciating her perspective on technology. "true, it's a double-edged sword. we gain convenience but also deal with its challenges." he nodded at her insistence on contributing. "alright, let's go dutch then. fair is fair," he agreed with a smile, appreciating her sense of equality.
as they walked side by side, wonwoo matched his pace to hers, enjoying the nighttime ambiance. he listened attentively to her thoughts on food, understanding the struggle of finding balance. "I get that. balance is key. you know, I'm the same way. I love a good meal, and I believe in enjoying life's culinary delights," he added with a grin, hoping to convey a shared appreciation for the simple joys of life. "and working out too. I want to have a strong biceps. " said him as he laughs.
@♡﹕ jeon wonwoo. she chuckled softly and nodded in agreement with his statement. "you're right, technology does make things easier these days, but it can also be a bit daunting," she murmured under her breath, the last part barely audible.
her voice became more resolute as she hummed softly, facing him. "no, i should contribute something too. it's only fair, you know. we can divide the costs or even go dutch," she protested, insisting on fairness.
while they walked side by side, her eyes scanned their surroundings, trying to keep up with his pace. a sigh of relief escaped her lips as she felt content being out at this hour. turning her head to meet his gaze after he asked about food, she replied, "food? i used to eat a lot, but these days, i've been trying to cut back. limited gym time means i have to maintain a balance. how about you?"
@♡﹕ kim mingyu. Chaeyoung smoothed the hair on the top of her head, settling back into the seat as the car began to move. “You know what hubby,” She giggled, enjoying the natural banter they forged as her apartment grew smaller in the rear view. “That sounds great,” She peeked over to the driver seat, the smile on her lips growing wide as her eyes traced over his profile.
@♡﹕ park chaeyoung. Mingyu reached out his other hand to gently pats Chaeyoung's head before cooing out softly at her face expression, playfully clutching his chest after doing so pretending to be pain. "Ah my poor heart, so cute." He start the engine once again as he hums out in reply, turning to face her for a moment before driving down the unfamiliar streets to their destination while speaking. "Well my beloved wifey, we are going out on a little picnic at the park today. There should be food stalls around so we can grab some food and hang out then go on a walk after that?"
@♡﹕ kim doyeon. wonwoo grinned, genuinely appreciating the connection they were forging through shared experiences. "it's fascinating, isn't it? the way technology can bridge gaps and bring people together," he remarked, his eyes reflecting a genuine curiosity about the dynamics of their digital age.
as they exited the restaurant, the subtle warmth of doyeon's hand on his arm sent a flutter through wonwoo's chest. uncertain about the cause of this pleasant sensation, he inclined his head with a smile. "the pleasure's mine, doyeon. No need for repayment; sharing good moments is enough," he assured her, the sincerity evident in his voice.
walking side by side, wonwoo pondered a question that had sparked his curiosity. "alright, let's get more food. by the way, do you usually eat a lot, doyeon?" he asked, his gaze stealing quick glances at her.
@♡﹕ jeon wonwoo. she formed an 'o' shape with her lips as he shared his app experiences, her head nodding in agreement with his observations. "well, true," she mouthed quietly, a hint of surprise in her eyes. "i have to say, it was a rather pleasant surprise for me too. it's interesting how i could connect with so many people from different backgrounds."
a soft hum escaped her lips as she listened intently to his words. "ooo, i see. absolutely," she exclaimed, taking another sip of her wine. "for me, i've met lots of interesting people, especially those who share my interests in different things like books and such. but i haven't explored much, i have to admit."
following wonwoo's lead, she stood up after he settled the bill. absentmindedly, her hand found its way to his arm, leaving a gentle pat. "thank you for the meal. i wish i could repay it one day," she said, matching her pace with his as they walked. she turned to face him after hearing his suggestion. "well, i don't mind. it has been a while since i went down the street for snacks. sure thing, i don't mind eating now or packing some for later," she reassured him, her smile warm and genuine.
@♡﹕ kim mingyu. Chaeyoung puffed her cheeks out, small pout on her lips, still feeling a little bad for making him wait. She slid the seatbelt into the buckle, “Ready,” She affirmed, shifting in the seat until she was facing him, it was only then she offered him a more playful smile “And where is my hubby taking me today?” She couldnt help the small flush creeping over her ears, it was one thing to see his photos over the app, or from a distance whenever she’d seen him with Jungkook, but this was the first time she’d seen him in this close.
@♡﹕ kim doyeon. wonwoo's gaze lingered on doyeon, finding a certain comfort in the shared enjoyment of the meal. he appreciated her deliberate movements, a silent dance that mirrored the rhythm of their conversation. "this evening has been a pleasure for me too," he admitted, a subtle sincerity in his voice. as she inquired about his experiences with the app, he took a moment to reflect. "it's been a mixed bag, you know? i've connected with people from all walks of life, each with their own unique stories. it's like peeling layers of an onion; you never know what you'll find beneath the surface." his lips curved into a reflective smile.
he paused, taking a sip of his wine before continuing, "yet, no fellow photographers or models so far. it's more about the human experience than professional connections. but who knows, the app holds surprises." wonwoo's eyes briefly scanned the restaurant's ambiance, appreciating the subtle details that often went unnoticed. turning the conversation back to doyeon, he added, "and you? any intriguing encounters or stories that stood out? " his tone was genuine, an invitation for her to share as they navigated the delicate balance between curiosity and respect for personal values.
watching as she finished her meal, wonwoo turned to the waiter to proceed with the payment. he took out his black card from his wallet (trying his best not to show it in front of doyeon) and handed it over to the waiter. after the payment was made, wonwoo gestured to doyeon so they could get up and leave the restaurant for another walk. "I hope you enjoy the meal. should we go to those streets? maybe we can have some snacks there too. wait, is it okay for you to eat again? or maybe we can pack them for you later. who knows, you might crave them in the middle of the night," he said with a small chuckle.
@♡﹕ jeon wonwoo. she nodded in agreement with his words, her appreciation evident in her slow, deliberate movements. "i'm truly grateful for this evening," she expressed, her gratitude for the delightful meal and the enjoyable company evident in her eyes. she continued to savor her meal, taking each bite with care, all the while observing the way his eyes wandered, capturing the details of the restaurant's interior and atmosphere.
"so," she began, her voice taking on a cautious tone as she ventured into a more personal topic, "how has your experience with the app been so far? have you come across anyone interesting? maybe another photographer or a fellow model?" her question hung in the air, lingering alongside her last bite of carbonara and a sip of wine. doyeon's curiosity was evident, yet it came with a touch of hesitation, rooted in her principles and the desire to ensure that her interactions were in line with her values.
@♡﹕ kim doyeon. wonwoo chuckled softly, appreciating her response. "no need to worry about that. i'm just glad we're both enjoying the moment," he said, his gaze warm. leaning back in his chair, he continued, "and please don't rush on my account. i don't mind taking my time, especially when the company is this pleasant." he flashed a reassuring smile, savoring the genuine connection they were building.
wonwoo's eyes gently roamed the restaurant, absorbing the subtle nuances of its atmosphere. soft, ambient lighting cast a warm glow, creating an intimate setting. the clinking of cutlery and hushed conversations formed a melodic backdrop to the scene. he noticed the intricate details of the artwork adorning the walls, each piece telling a silent story before he turned to doyeon once again, watching her eat carefully — perhaps she was scared that the pasta would do her dirty again, and the thought of it made wonwoo chuckle silently.
@♡﹕ jeon wonwoo. she hums softly, basking in his encouraging words, relishing the warmth they brought. encouragement always had a way of making her day brighter, and she couldn't help but respond with a contented smile. "the same goes for you, sir. you're doing great too, whatever you're involved in," she replied, echoing his tone.
his unexpected gesture of standing up and leaning forward caught her off guard. ah, embarrassment washed over her in waves, but she was also deeply thankful. in a hurried attempt to compose herself, she grabbed her napkin, patting around her lips as if he hadn't already done so – a reflexive response. "oh, no, thank you! i might have walked out of this restaurant looking like a mess," she laughed nervously, trying to conceal her embarrassment.
she continued to eat her meal, albeit at a slower pace, noticing that he had finished his. "sorry for keeping you waiting. i tend to eat slowly," she fibbed, more to avoid the possibility of appearing messy than anything else.
@♡﹕ kim doyeon. with a composed demeanor, wonwoo responded, "no need to thank me; it's a pleasure to share a meal with good company." his smile, though slightly restrained, conveyed genuine appreciation. "plus, you did a good job today, even though I don't know what you've been doing. still, you did a good job—just in case nobody has told you that yet," he added with a chuckle.
while savoring their meals, wonwoo couldn't help but steal quick glances at the woman across from him. he noticed a small stain of pasta sauce on the corner of and chuckled. about to take a napkin to wipe it off, he hesitated briefly, considering if it would be too much. gathering his courage, he took the napkin and leaned forward. "I'm sorry, but please don't move," he said gently as he tapped the napkin on the corner of her lips. "alright, there was some sauce there, now it's all good. I'm sorry; I didn't want to use my words just in case you'd be embarrassed and panicked."
his ears turned red somehow at his own bold actions. man, he never did such things with a woman besides the girl he used to love before. what has he done now? jeon wonwoo jinjja —
"I'm sorry for not asking to touch your face first. it's just , i acted recklessly sometimes. I'm sorry again. "
he continued his meal with a composed demeanor, savoring each bite. after finishing his food, he took a sip of the red wine and hummed while waiting for doyeon to finish her hearty meal
@♡﹕ jeon wonwoo. she let out a soft laugh in response to his remarks about their adventure, nodding slightly in agreement. "well, that's true indeed. facts!" she chimed in. as he described his experiences on the app, she listened attentively, though his words seemed laden with weight at times. or perhaps, she mused, she was reading too much into his response. "i guess likewise, trying new things and meeting new people! i hope you find what you're searching for soon, mister wonwoo," she said, offering him an encouraging smile. however, she couldn't help but notice the shift in his tone, the subtle pauses, and the fading of his once bright smile.
a pang of uncertainty gripped doyeon. had she overstepped? cursing herself silently for her curiosity, she grappled with the urge to understand the dynamics of their meeting. she wanted to discern if it was to be strictly business or if there was room for something more. perhaps it was too soon to unravel these complexities, she reasoned, yet the questions persisted in her mind.
mirroring his smile, she picked up her fork and twirled it into her favorite pasta dish. with every bite, she savored the flavors while stealing glances at him as he prepared his own meal. amusement flickered in her eyes, earning a soft chuckle. "it is tasty, indeed," she remarked, appreciating his efforts. "and i have to say, thank you for the meal, although you really didn't have to treat me…" her words trailed off, leaving an unspoken question hanging in the air, a silent plea for clarity in the midst of their shared meal.
