Her fingers ran along the top of her makeshift dresser she had managed to fix the moment she moved into the colony, glancing around at the knick-knacks she had collected along the way. She smiled a little at the figurines as they held both painful and happy memories she had made since being within the colony.
“You would have loved these little toys, mom…” She mumbled before finally pulling out the crinkled photo out from her pocket to set it down on the dresser. She wasn’t fond of sharing her life with those in the colony so her room was strictly no visitors. Only a handful of people she allowed in. Some were indeed questionable friendships but can’t always choose your friends.
“Okay.. I should do inventory again. I know I’m running low on some things.” She mumbled to herself as she pulled out a small notebook and a pen she kept in her drawer. Flipping over to the last page she had with a list of supplies. Looking it over to see what she needed to find.
