@iris s. Although several years had pass, memory of past life still haunted Brian. There was a glimmer of hope still even though he had been told to leave it in the past, to move on with the cursed new life.
The vampire was taking a stroll around downtown after enjoying a hearty bowl of chicken ramen at a small Japanese restaurant. Hands tucked inside the pockets of a black leather jacket. As usual, the street was crowded but surprisingly pleasant. Aroma of freshly brewed coffee led curious feet to a small cafe in the corner of the street. A cup of hot black coffee was purchased, steam blown to cool and a careful sip was taken. A smile that appeared afterwards indicated satisfaction. With a 'thank you', Brian left the establishment and proceed with the stroll.
A figure from the past was walked by without an ounce of familiarity. Brian headed for the dim lit alleyway for a shortcut, wondering where to go next while being aware that he wasn't alone. However, Brian wasn't paranoid, at least not that night and thought that the stranger was just taking a shortcut as well.
@brian k. Sometimes, some days, Iris wished that he could just stay inside and just not do anything. But Iris had to be a responsible creature like everyone else. Iris woke up with an ache but continued on in the day without issue. Today, he was to get ingredients for some spells he wanted to tend to this week. And also some groceries for normal eating. Everything took about 2 hours to do and since Iris decided to be lazy earlier and wake up late, the sun was just about to set once he was done.
Iris had everything stuffed in an enchanted tote bag so he wouldn’t have to carry so much. And just as he was checking his bag to look over everything, someone passed him. Iris took the moment as nothing for a moment before his eyes had the quick image of their face. Iris froze. His brain flashed quickly back and forth. Far /far/ memories.
By the time Iris snapped out of it to turn around, the figure was already disappearing into an alley way. His body moved before his brain could catch up. Following closely behind, but making sure he wasn’t obscenely obvious.
