@☥ Kang Seulgi the explanation made sense to irene, but as she was getting pulled away, her eyes lingered on the fountain. she was then greeted by the sight of ancient shelves filled with scrolls, books. irene grumbled under her breath as she picked up a random scroll. the beautiful brushstrokes were mesmerizing, even though she couldn't understand the words. she was so lost in the scroll that she didn't feel looming presence of the professor. later, she found seulgi standing in front of an old family portrait. the librarian approached seulgi, offering comforting pats on the back. "oh, seulgi.." irene was curious about what had happened to the professor, but she didn’t want to pry into her private matters. so, she stood beside seulgi, a silent companion.
@☥ Bae Joohyun Seulgi shook her head, she holds her position to shield the vampire librarian. "Just because I tasted it, doesn't mean you can too." She responded, "Purebloods like me have high tolerance for blood lust. It is much harder for you to restrain that urge when you were turned." She explained before she dragged Irene away from the fountain, pulling her wrist as they went to the old shelves. "Remember, you are also curious of these archives, focus on that first." She said and saw a family painting, an asian painting with members wearing traditional clothing. There she saw herself, a much younger, barely twelve years old, young Seulgi. "No way..." She approached the painting and looking at her once proud family, she couldn't feel nothing but regret.
@☥ Kang Seulgi the professor stood right in front of irene, shielding her from the tantalizing blood fountain. the librarian tugged on the professor's sleeve, a silent plea to move aside. irene, undeterred, raised seulgi's blood-stained finger. "that's right," she murmured. "i offered my own blood to a hungry vampire back then. i didn't even know they were one of the rebels." she held the finger aloft, the crimson droplet gleaming in the dim light. "but you did taste it, so you should know whether it was safe or not."
@☥ Bae Joohyun She observed the other's action as Irene's eyes fell to the blood fountain, this is not good. No pureblood couldn't resist the scent of blood. This meant the librarian was turned. Seulgi stands in front of Irene, "I guess you were turned and you have no sire with you." She guessed and holds Irene's shoulder, "You can't drink those, Irene." She told the librarian. "We might not know whose blood flows through it for centuries, it might be a trap." She added.
@☥ Kang Seulgi irene followed closely behind the professor, her eyes wide with curiosity as they descended the hidden passageway. here they were, in the secret chamber filled with towering bookshelves and portraits of ancient vampires, their identities were a mystery to the librarian. irene, was captivated by the sight of the books, letting seulgi ventured deeper into the chamber. a sharp scent of blood filled the air, which irene didn't notice when they entered the hidden chamber, pulling irene's attention away from the books. the librarian darted towards the professor, hovering behind her back, as she peeked over seulgi's shoulder to see her finger dipped in a small blood fountain. irene's gaze was fixed on the crimson liquid, a strange fascination drawing her closer. "seulgi, may i..." she hesitated, her voice trembled with excitement, throat tightening. "i want it."
@☥ Bae Joohyun Seulgi looked at the old bricks that surrounded them as they start walking downstairs, torches of flames automatically started to lit up ahead of them. Then the door where they get in also closed, making the elder vampire turned around to see that the only way out has been closed down. She looked at the vampire behind her, "Stick beside me." She told Irene before they start walking down again until they saw a marbled floor where the torches already light their way into a large chamber, then she gasped. They were at the oldest vampire archives Seulgi had been looking for years.
Large shelves with most of the oldest books and scrolls to date, within the walls were medium sized portraits of the prominent vampire families for centuries. Each of the corners of the chambers provided a fountain of viscous of red liquid, blood, the very sustenance of the vampires but much more potent and stronger. This chamber must have been kept for a century, whoever this vampire whom guarded this chamber must have already knew how to lure away stray vampires from ever knowing the secrets. Seulgi went towards the fountain and looked at the blood that was pouring down non-stop from the gargoyle faucet, she dipped her index finger in the blood and examined the taste, the taste of blood is stronger and could potentially lure those vampires who has low tolerance on their blood lust. "This is bad..." She muttered before looking at Irene, "Ms. Irene, can I ask you something?" She turned her attention towards the librarian, "Were you bitten or you were born a vampire?"
@☥ Kang Seulgi irene shifted uncomfortably beneath seulgi's brief yet intense gaze. a surprise has painted across her facial features, her jaw slacking in surprise as seulgi revealed the hidden message on the token. she had never imagined the ancient library held such secrets, hidden beneath the very floor they stood on. a rush of excitement coursed through her, a thrill of adventure igniting within her. "i want to come with you," she replied, her voice barely a whisper. she couldn't contain her curiosity any longer. the thought of exploring the hidden depths of the library, uncovering its secrets, filled her with anticipation. knowing the guards would be busy searching for them, she shook her head with a snicker. "let them find the culprit until tomorrow, i don't care about them. let me come with you, seulgi."
as soon as the professor fit the token into the hollow tile, irene couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. the ancient mechanism, hidden for centuries, activated with a soft hum. the floor began to shift, revealing a hidden staircase leading into the depths of the library. "a secret passage in the library." she murmured, her voice filled with wonder. "wow, i failed as a guard of this library but after you, professor."
@☥ Bae Joohyun Seulgi looked into the other vampire's eyes, something tells her that the vampire isn't a pureblood, rather she was bitten and turned... by whom? She sighed and shook her head, "Fine..." She looked at the token she got from the family book and tilted it to the side and saw a cryptic message. For many centuries Seulgi knows a thing or two about deciphering things and this one is easy, she cited what was written in the token: "The moonlight shows the path to the shadows. Those who are faced at the moon, hides in the shadows." She looked at the emblem in the token before her eyes went over the moonlight and the floor in front of them, she sees a small hole on the floor that the janitor might think it is a missing tile. When she went closer to it, it was hollow. "That's right!" She gasped before touching the missing round tile, "When the moon light shows through the floor, the hollow tile is the shadow." Seulgi told the librarian before she fits the token into the missing slot and slowly, she heard walls spreading from underneath before it shows an underground stairway. "This school is full of secrets..." She muttered before looking at Irene, "Wanna come with me? Or do you want to stall more with the guards?"
@☥ Kang Seulgi irene's head popped out from behind a towering bookshelf, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as if checking the situation. "professor kang," she whispered, her voice barely a breath, "don't you think we could... prevent this little situation?" a devilish grin spread across her face, the fangs of hers glinting in the dim light. irene snatched a small book from the shelf, her fingers dancing over the worn leather. with a flick of her wrist, she hurled the book across the room, its impact echoing through the silent library. a moment later, the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard approaching from the opposite side of the room. "problem solved," the librarian murmured, a triumphant smirk playing on her lips. "so, let's continue the searching? i'll cover you from the back"
@☥ Bae Joohyun Hearing the other got injured and she smelled the blood from here, the librarian must have hurt him badly. The guards became cautious and they start to look for the culprit which is the sneaky librarian, "Ms. Irene, now look what you've done. The guards might report us if they caught us in here." She scolded her while she whispers with her eyes squinting at the fellow vampire.
@✡︎ Seo Joohyun [] even sorrier for the late reply orz
Quietly wandering through the many rows of bookshelves, Minjeong was scanning through the different book titles, eyes flickering from one book spine to the next. Although she had looked up in the registry in which section the material she'd need for her research would be located at, it still took her a good few minutes until she finally found what she had been looking for. Carrying a few books in her arms, she made her way over to the study tables that had been placed in this section of the library when her eyes caught a familiar figure. Hesitating for just a second, she let out a soft sigh before walking over. "Professor Seo. Hello." Her voice was soft when she greeted her professor, acknowledging the woman with a nod before she settled a few seats to her left, quietly putting down the stack of books and setting up her stationary as well as a notebook.
@☥ Kang Seulgi irene's ears perked up at the sound of the other guard's hurried footsteps, a wicked grin spreading across her lips. she knew the commotion would draw the other guard into her trap. as the professor restrained her, preventing her from moving, she scoffed, "but they'll take too long. perhaps we should chase them away." her eyebrows furrowed in feigned frustration. "they should have known the library was a safe place."
@☥ Bae Joohyun Seulgi watched the other shooing guards away by throwing an encyclopedia on them, "Ms. Irene, they are doing their job so let them be." She insisted and then she dragged her further to the darker platform, seeing another guard coming, she tightly holds Irene and trying not to make a sound. These guards are regilar humans doing their job in checking every room in midnight, they must not be be disturbed.
@Kang Seulgi a thousand years. the professor had lived for a thousand years? irene knew she was one of the oldest, but she hadn't truly grasped the extent of her age until now. her eyes widened in astonishment as a shiny gold coin, adorned with ancient, intricate carvings, fell from the book itself. "huh? what clue, pro-" her words were cut short by seulgi's urgent tug, pulling her into hiding from the guards. human guards, irene groaned inwardly. "and why are we hiding when we can shoo them away instead, professor kang?" a mischievous grin played on her lips. her head peeking out to observe the guards' movements, she used her telekinetic ability to lift a nearby encyclopedia with her mind. with a swift gesture, she sent the heavy tome hurtling towards the guard's backside, sending him sprawling to the ground, clutching his sore area.
@Bae Joohyun "It's already a thousand years too late, ms. irene." Seulgi smiled at her before closing the book, but once she closes the book, a small ancient coin fell from it. The cling and clang sounded the marbled floor, it's golden surface shines as it was directly hit in the moonlight from the window. She blinked and picks up the coin, it's not just a coin, it was a Kang crest of loyalty- she lost hers when she was only 10 but remembering it made her grinned a bit. The coin meant that there is something hiding within the walls of this library, "This is the first clue." As soon as she said that, she heard the door of the library opened and she heard two guards on a security check inside the library. Seulgi took the book and dragged Irene, "Let's hide." She whispered and hid behind one of the hidden shelves.
@Kang Seulgi irene watched the fellow vampire flipped through the pages, the crackling sound of the pages following as she turned them, indicating that the book was quite old. she was proud enough to take care of the books, to sure the books wasn't damaged or stolen. until she saw the ripped page, her eyes widened in surprise. not this book — irene was so sure that she never let anyone entered the restricted area before, then who ripped this freaking book. she pushed her train of thoughts back as her gaze turned to the other page consisted of a family portrait of three, the girl looked so much like seulgi. squinting her eyes at the quite blurry picture. was she her twin — watching the professor’s downcast eyes, irene patted her on the shoulder few times in comfort. “it must have been difficult for you, professor kang. but it's never too late to make things right?”
The air was thick with the knowledge of ages, twisting and turning through musty tomes and flickering of the fluorescent light . It was here, amid the towering stacks, that Professor Seohyun immersed herself in her research. Seohyun was known not only for her expertise in the Unseen Dark Arts but also for her unconventional approach to the laws of the land. She specialised in investigating a situation, seeking hard evidence within the complicated world of the supernatural and mortal. On this particular evening, she was studying a centuries-old grimoire, its pages yellowed and worn, when a flicker of movement caught her eye.
@Bae Joohyun She smiled at her, "Thank you!" Then she went back to opening the book and continued to search for her name in the books. Their family came from Old Joseon era, her ancestor became one of the first vampires and they start establishing their family name, 'Kang'. As she flipped the pages, she sees centennial family portraits from paintings to the present photo of the Kang family, "Wait..." She flipped another page before she stopped into the page of where their family painting is. Her eyes widen, she saw a ripped page in between, "Someone must have ripped it off." She muttered. Then she looked at the family portrait of her mother, father, and her supposed little sister, but she was no longer in the painting. "That means... Mother was pregnant when..." She paused and she eventually takes a deep breath, "I shouldn't have left." She muttered and looked down.
@Kang Seulgi what's comical to irene at the moment was the way the other got surprised by her not so sudden presence. her eyebrow raised in amusement as the other finally revealed herself, the faculty member that once dropped papers in the lounge room, professor kang seulgi. that adorable looking professor yet one of the oldest professor in the academy if irene wasn't mistaken. she hummed in response and took a quick glance at the clock, it was not the time for the guards to check all over the rooms yet. she believed she still could let the professor find whatever she's looking for. "okay.. what are you looking for?" pulling her both sleeves up symmetrically to each other as she made her way to sit beside the other. "you still have time before we got caught by the guard, seulgi."
@Bae Joohyun As she starts to flip page after page, she sees every other names in the books until she didn't realized someone already caught her act sneaking into the middle of night. Seulgi almost screams as she jolted at the voice of the librarian behind her, she quickly turned around and looked at Irene leaning against the shelves. "I-Irene..." She closed the book and pulled down her hood to show herself to her. "I'm really sorry for sneaking in but I promise I will get the book back to it's place once I found what I came for." She told her, "Just please, give me time to look at these." She pleaded a bit with a sheepish smile on her face.
@Kang Seulgi irene lost track of time when she read a self-development book in her room. she was supposed to read it outside the library, definitely felt guilty due the pros being a librarian. she was not supposed to abuse the status, sighing. irene came back to her safe space and put the book right on the shelf. checking every shelf by her own, one by one, irene liked organized things. a slight of disarray in the book shelves, she would adjust it according to her liking then moved on to the other section. the others would say irene had a ocd, she wouldn’t deny nor reject that fact, she simply liked neat things.
in the glow of moonlight, irene barely needed to turn on the lights. letting the natural light guided her, but she could see a bright intense light coming from the restricted section that the headmistress that could access, other than that, she needed to shoo them away or even worse, a warning. funny that she should have gotten herself a bunch of warnings due to how often she visited there to read books, but of course she wouldn’t disclose them out in public. irene silently padded over the section and saw a person sitting on the ground with a flashlight in . unable to identify the person's face because of the hood so she cleared to announce her presence and leaned against one of the shelves, “i’m sorry to disturb your reading time but this area couldn’t be accessed by anyone other than directors or headmistress themselves. i would suggest you to put the book back and return to your room,” although she was so happy to see 'one of the students' finally spent their time to ready history books.
@Bae Joohyun Sneaking into a library, Seulgi has to find out for herself what will be their family tree by now, in the middle of the night, she cloaked herself with a black robe and a hood. She she made sure there's no living and breathing individual in sight before she snuck into the restricted section, she gets her mini flashlight to look through the vampire section where there are a tons of books of every family in their race.
She looked for the letter 'K', means the Kang family book. For centuries, she ignored the fact that her own family is still going on and about in their principles, but now, she wanted to see what her family is doing now that it was already a thousand years since she left from their home. Once she sees the 'K' section, it was already in the first one. She grabbed Kang family book and sat on the ground, she puts the flashlight into as she starts to open the first page, their family being one of the first vampires in their history.
