@✧ ┆ y. yongha. ᵐᵉˡᵃⁿᶦˢᵗᶦᶜ ᶠᵒˣ Seeing the other nod in response sent a small wave of relief through Daehyeon, despite the awkward silence between the two, he was glad that he *didn't* have to say anything... though he wished that he could. He didn't normally like feeling as on guard as he was now, he watched the other leave take the laundry out of the room, and he had slumped back in his chair, letting out a quiet groan.
Had he really just agreed to spend his head with someone, even with nothing involved, it was a big difference from him, and he knows that he will only find himself getting more and more attached to the fox with each moment they spend together. Sure, they were already close, they were of the same group of course, and Daehyeon, the leader, had taken care of s multiple times before, but this... this was different. Since the two of them came to the camp, the aura surrounding them had seemed much different, and if it wasn't for the autumn ball, Daehyeon could have continued (or at least he had hoped) on without any known feelings.
After a moment of thought, he moved to his bed; having been completely lost in thought, he was overwhelmed by the sudden surge of Yongha's scent when he had face planted against it. He took it in for a second before rolling on his back, his gaze slowly moving from the ceiling to the one entering his room, instinctively scooting over before he realized the other was sitting at the end of the bed. He hummed before shaking his head, hand patting the spot beside him. "No, if you are gonna 'hold' me or whatever during my heat then I can only offer the same. Fair warning, I was gonna shower but I made the mistake of laying down." He said in a more stern tone than he had intended, arms slightly open for the other. "Unless you don't want to, then that's fine too."
@✶ ┆ j. daehyeon. ʰᵃᵐˢᵗᵉʳ The nod was enough of an answer for him, and he nodded in response, his ears standing straight up and twitching every now and then. His fingers toyed with the clothes in his hand for a little bit, in silence, and he finally cleared his throat and turned to head toward the laundry room of their lodge. He tossed the clothes in, the detergent in, and started it, immediately burying his face in his hands and taking a big breath in, and a big sigh out.
Daehyeon had said yes. They were going to spend their cycles together, whether that was physically back to back, or maybe one would hold the other. It was happening. Maybe it didn't mean anything, maybe it could be swept under the rug later, but for Yongha at least, it meant a lot, and he wouldn't be the one sweeping it under the rug. What if it meant a lot to Daehyeon too? But also, what if it didn't... But no matter what, it *would* mean that their next cycles would probably be awkward. Was this setting an expectation that they'd spend them together? Not that Yongha would mind, but would Daehyeon mind? And what if it was unspoken that they would, and Yongha somehow ends up leaving him hanging? Or if it was unspoken they wouldn't, and he shows up like this again? Or if—
The washer buzzed that it was done, and Yongha jumped back into reality, rubbing his arm and sighing before taking all of it out and moving it to the dryer. He set it for an hour, started it, and then walked back to Daehyeon's room. He probably showed it, despite trying not to, but a wave of relief washed over him being back in his room, able to smell him again. He grabbed his snacks and water, and sat down on the foot of the bed, taking a few bites and a sip before clearing his throat. "I'll... probably end up dozing off again once I finish eating, since I really just sleep during mine. But- I'll stay here," he gestured to where he was sitting. "If you need anything, O-or if you change your mind, you know, wake me up, and I'll go. The laundry's in the dryer for an hour, in case you don't hear it," he added, looking around a little bit while he continued to eat admittedly pretty slowly so Daehyeon had time to change his mind if he wanted to
@✧ ┆ y. yongha. ᵐᵉˡᵃⁿᶦˢᵗᶦᶜ ᶠᵒˣ The forced chuckle, easily turned into a somewhat forced awkward smile, that quickly dropped as he watched the other, gulping as Yongha started to collect the clothes off of his bed. He wasn't exactly sure why, but the way the younger had started out his proposition had Daehyeon on edge, perhaps, it was just in his nature to always be on the edge of his seat anxiously awaiting the next thing to happen, or someone to say something, but he hated it. His leg started bouncing lightly in a small shake, as Yongha continued to speak, and he nodded. Leaving his bed to stay like Yongha wasn't a /terrible/ idea, but Daehyeon wasn't exactly sure how his self, in heat would handle it. "Okay.." The word fell out as a barely audible whisper, awaiting the other to continue, he had to continue.... right?
Of course he did, and of course the continued proposition had to be what Daehyeon couldn't even imagine of doing, so he sat there for a moment. Blinking. If Yongha was there during his heat, especially with recent relevations to his own feelings towards the fox, he'd want him, he knows. Something would slip, and things would be known... and the worst part of his fear. Yongha would take it as 'just his heat talking', he knew the other too well for him to believe that it would be anything else.
The inner voice inside Daehyeon's head was screaming at him to tell him 'Yes, you want this.' But he still hesitated. His mouth opening occasionally as he goes to speak but no words would come out of his mouth, and his eyes roaming the room. Before, finally, all he could do was nod, and hope that it was enough of an answer for the other to take and that he wouldn't have to use his words right now.
@✶ ┆ j. daehyeon. ʰᵃᵐˢᵗᵉʳ With Daehyeon keeping a bit of distance, part of Yongha did finally start to calm down, and he did feel his drowsiness start to come back from before. The only slight jolt of fear was when the hamster mentioned that his own was coming shortly, but with a sip of water, the fear dissipated. The forced tone of the chuckle was not lost on him, but he couldn't bring himself to comment on it, probably on both of their behalfs. "I'll tell you what," he started, slowly standing himself up off the bed and wobbling a bit, "I'll wash your clothes, your bed can stay smelling like me, I suppose." That was the easy suggestion, and the smile that came along with it was just as easy, though secretly he was biting the inside of his cheek while he gathered the clothes up into a pile in his arms. The harder — weirder? more precarious? — suggestion was next. It came to his mind from a variety of paths.
One, the part of him that was in his cycle and did crave company enough to thin down his filter.
Two, the part of him that was on the other side of that filter that was in fact, infatuated with his groupmate, and needed heavy silencing.
Three, the pessimistic side of him, that figured it would be best to bite the bullet and ask something of this caliber and get rejected than to dance around eggshells in hopes that the "right moment" would ever come.
"Spend your cycle... with me. I won't do anything, of course, we can just... Use the bed together, and I'll hold you, you can even hold me if you'd like. Or even not at all, if you don't want to. We can be back to back if you want," he exhaled
@✧ ┆ y. yongha. ᵐᵉˡᵃⁿᶦˢᵗᶦᶜ ᶠᵒˣ Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming for Daehyeon, the smell, the emotions and the surprise upon everything. And if he was honest, he wasn't sure if it was a bad feeling or not. he just needed a moment to wrap his head around everything, and every time he thought that he did, his mind would start reeling again. He sat in the chair in his room, creating some distance from the two, he too didn't want to overwhelm the other with his presence, it was obvious that he was struggling with the idea of being caught in his room, and Daehyeon didn't want to make the other feel any more out of place. When the other offered to wash his laundry a small voice inside him wanted to say that it wasn't necessary, but he knew that was a bad idea. Not only for him, but he didn't want to weird the other out at all. He cleared his throat lightly after realizing that he's been silent for a bit too long. "Well, I can-- wash it, if you're not up for it." He said, chewing the inside of his cheek. "Mine is soon, a few days... but it's alright. I dont mind other scents.. but maybe just a few things." He said letting out a soft chuckle, forced, but he was trying to lighten the mood.
@✶ ┆ j. daehyeon. ʰᵃᵐˢᵗᵉʳ Yongha craned his neck to watch Daehyeon leave the room, and once he figured the other was out of earshot and definitely out of eyeshot, the fox sighed and flopped back down in the mess he'd made of his leader's bed. He'd really ed up, he figured. Or maybe not, but he could not shake the feeling of realizing you made a mistake while actively being in the middle of it, unable yo fully fix it. He grumbled, hugging one of the pillows close and sniffing it, gently scenting it without thinking, and after a moment he shot back up and looked at the nest he'd made, embarrassment washing over him. Slowly, he picked it apart clothing item by clothing item, and he straightened out the pillows, fluffing them with a few pats each before sorting out which clothes were his and which were Daehyeon's. They all reeked of his own scent, now, and so did the other's bed, and he felt himself get even more embarrassed. By the time Daehyeon came back, Yongha had scooted to the edge of the bed, sitting with his hands folded in his lap, and only the other's voice snapped him out of the space he was staring into unknowingly. "It's okay, it gave me time to clean up your bed," he answered, eyes focusing in and up on the hamster as he grabbed a water and a bag of chips. "... It smells a lot like me now, and so do your clothes, so you should probably wash them. I-I can even wash them, since it was me who made them smell like that. And especially 'cause your heat's soon right? I don't remember well, and I don't know how you spend it, but... it's probably best to do, right? I assume to have no other smells around you?" he tipped his head to the side as he spoke. The crinkle of the bag followed and the crunch of the water bottle followed, and he took a handful of chips and a sip of water
@✧ ┆ y. yongha. ᵐᵉˡᵃⁿᶦˢᵗᶦᶜ ᶠᵒˣ He still had the urge to apologize to the other for disturbing him, and he decided to just chalk it up to the idea that he was the leader of the group, and he wanted to look after s, and Yongha, had been the only one so far to come to the camp. So he wanted the other to be comfortable, and perhaps-- that's why Yongha had chose his bed to build this.. nest in, because he was away and it was familiar to him. Or that's what he needed to believe for the moment or he would send himself into a spiral of over thinking. He was content with his feelings that he had recently uncovered for the other, but he wasn't ready to find out anything just yet. "You can stay in my bed, I don't mind." He say's finally, after taking a few breaths trying to steady his own mind. "I'll be back with some water and snacks for you at least."
Finally moving to turn around and leave the room, he takes this moment to realize how quickly the thoughts in his brain were moving, normally, he wouldn't think too much on things but it had been a while since the hamster allowed himself to have feelings for another (not that he really /allowed/ himself, but that's besides the point) and to find said person in his room during their cycle was doing things to his mind that he couldn't explain. Once he reached the kitchen he took a moment to splash cold water in his face in attempt to move the thoughts away before grabbing some water bottles and a few snacks for the other and returning promptly to his room. "Here, sorry it took a minute, I had to find the right snacks." He made an excuse as he set the stuff on his bedside table.
@✶ ┆ j. daehyeon. ʰᵃᵐˢᵗᵉʳ "No, no, it's... your room I shouldn't have been here in the first place," Yongha held out his hands and shook them along with his head, both motions frantic. It was embarrassing, still, especially seeing how the other just stood so still and so in thought. Yongha could only assume the worst, and then amplify it during such a... hard time. He knew he was quite fond of the other, obviously, since he found himself going in for clothes and staying for the whole bed. But he still wasn't sure if the omega felt the same and that's why he was standing still, or *didn't* feel the same and *that's* why he was standing still. The omega wasn't actually forthcoming about his type in any aspect; rank or otherwise. And with him being a beta, he really had no idea if he was even an option, a blip on Daehyeon's radar. Everyone was different, he knew, which is why it didn't bother him, but Yongha's previous luck had him wary at most when it came to trying to court omegas. Including the one in front of him. His attempts were usually subtle, probably nearing unnoticeable. To be safe. And this was the exact opposite of what he had been doing with Daehyeon. He wasn't the type to overthink, but with the hamster having caught him what felt like red-handed, he couldn't help it.
He didn't realize it, but he himself had also frozen, and barely heard the hamster asking him if he needed anything. A breath left him that he didn't even realize was stuck in his throat. "Hah- eh... If... you can get me some, I can..." he side-eyed the nest he'd made that started to look more like just a mess the more he woke up, "... I can get this undone and go to my room, so you can have your bed to yourself if you want it."
@✧ ┆ y. yongha. ᵐᵉˡᵃⁿᶦˢᵗᶦᶜ ᶠᵒˣ The hamster had been so lost in thought that when the other jolted up in surprise and began to explain, that he hadn’t been able to register anything. Oh… OH. Daehyeon’s eyes blinked wide opened and he studied the other in front of him, he only had thought he had missed him, but too realize the other had been on his cycle and nested in his bed had been another feeling. He swallowed hard and shook his head. “No no.. it’s okay! Really— I should have let you know I was on my way back..” he paused, shaking his head again. Why was he apologizing for interrupting the other in /his own/ room?
Clearing his throat, he looked back up at Yongha, trying his best to subtly calm his rapidly beating heart, the pulse echoing in his own ear drums. “Can I get you anything? Water? Snacks?” He offered, his voice quiet but just loud enough for the other to hear him, as he stood in the same spot unable to move as his brain processed everything.
@✶ ┆ j. daehyeon. ʰᵃᵐˢᵗᵉʳ A few days after the ball, his cycle had started, and Daehyeon was away. The original plan was to steal some small things of other's, things he wouldn't notice until they returned to their similar spots, thought to be misplaced (if he justed ignored how much they would have reeked of cherries and pomegranates) but being inside of his room to commit said crime hit him like a truck, and instead he'd piled all the clothes lying around the room into a little nest — despite only ever having ruts — on the other's bed, and he'd fallen asleep.
Cut to a few days later, and he jolted awake to the call, but mainly to the overwhelming and more fresh scent of the omega whose bed he was in. He went pale, and he sat up straight, his ears turned down so much they couldn't be seen in embarrassment. "Ah- uh- I... I didn't mean to- I thought you were gone longer... I mean! Just because I was- well I mean, I meant to just, uh, take a shirt or two and go back to my room- but it... just smelled really nice..." he blurted out, scratching behind his ear once he started to trail off
@✧ ┆ y. yongha. ᵐᵉˡᵃⁿᶦˢᵗᶦᶜ ᶠᵒˣ Blinking at the pile on his bed, he tilts his head curiously. Having been busy and out for a few days himself he was ready to come home, wash up and grab some food before resting on his bed but all plans had been stopped at the scene in front of him. He didn’t have to see the other to know who it was, able to smell him, and because of that.. his heart decided to do flips in his chest causing a small stutter in his feet as he stepped further into his room. Shutting the door behind him as he timidly stepped towards the other, calling out. “Y-yongha?”
