@ryu jaewon With a flute of champagne held between Subin's delicate fingers, she found herself talking in a circle of other women. Soon the golden bubbles of champagne started to dull on Subin's tastebuds, she found herself wanting something a bit stronger than what her glass held, her brown eyes flitting over to the open bar between the growing laughs and eager conversation the ladies were enjoying. It all was genuine from what Subin could sense, and her sudden departure for a drink would be considered rude. Subin kept her glass close to her as she kept herself engaged, gently swirling the liquid as she listened for an opening in the conversation to excuse herself, but her excuse came quicker than she thought.

Between looking at the bartender prepare pretty drinks she needed to get her hands on, and the table of finger foods that sat nestled in warmth of the silver trays, there was her ex-husband, Jaewon. Her eyes slightly bulged at his sudden appearance, and she her body did the motion of in a breath, but there was no breath, and out came a loud wheeze from her agape lips that earned her questionable gazes from the other women. "I—I'm so sorry," she started to laugh as she daintily covered with her freshly manicured french tips. "The champagne, usually dry drinks make me hiccup. I need water." The other woman started to laugh with her at the reasoning, earning herself a comment of "that's adorable". Subin quickly excused herself, going behind the group to hide away from Jaewon's line of vision. The last memory she had of him was her telling him she wasn't going to be here. No more than two steps away from her great escape Subin felt herself being dragged away from the party, and her own spirit started to tease with the familiar flames of anger.

Subin's heart-shaped face pinched together as she grunted, her wrist trying to twist away from Jaewon's vice-like grip, and it was to the point she used the thin heels of her stilettos to ground herself before giving up with a harsh breath. The words that fell upon her ears almost made her laugh in disbelief. "And who are you to be questioning me like this?" She started her own tirade in a whisper-shout, her pearly teeth bared at him as she spoke. "I have sitter for Haemi you idiot—and what am I wearing?" Subin scoffed, she could have swore that one had some undertones. "Do you not see where we are? I'm an adult and if you don't let go of me I'm going to beat you like one."

jaewon was getting ready for dohyun's party after he invited him over. honestly they are pretty close with each other despite jaewon is dohyun's ex brother in laws since he used to married dohyun's sister, subin. not gonna lie, he would be lying if he said he didn't love her anymore, but situations just doesn't work well between them hence the divorcement took place, but still — he still can see their daughter, haemi and that's all matters to jaewon right now. haemi is his priority no matter what. he was thankful that he still could raise haemi and see her growing.

he stepped inside the restaurant as his gaze wandered around, that's when he noticed dohyun were talking to his friends, which is part of jaewon's friends too — both of them are pilots and mostly people in this dining room are from dohyun's colleagues in university and from the airline company, jaewon didn't waste time to meet them, engaging with a few small conversations. not too long after, his eyes darted over a woman figure that he automatically recognised.

he takes a deep breathe when he realises it was her. actually, he once asked her before regarding this party, but she informed him that she's not coming. not coming but who is the woman right in front of him right now. he frowned over the dress that covered her body as he also noticed some of the guys are checking her out too. jaewon clenched his both fists and rushed to her side, grabbing her wrist as he pulled her out of the room. "what are you doing here, do subin? are you out of your mind? who's taking care of haemi right now ?" he asked, furious for sure. "and what the f— you're wearing? do you enjoy seeing people ogling their eyes at you?" he gripped on her wrist tighter, indicating how mad he is.

"Welcome to Port Wines, Ma'am—may I take your coat and other belongings?" The server to Subin's left kindly greeted her, his white gloved hand was in the air, waiting to take her things as Subin shimmied off her floor length trench coat. The spaghetti straps of her satin, cream colored dress couldn't protect her from the sudden prickle of goosebumps that started to rise under the dainty teardrop diamond necklace she wore. Her already dusted pink cheeks started to flush a bit more as the little warmth of her luscious brown curls fell over her shoulders and curled around her face. She folded her shoulder purse inside the coat and gave her bundle to him with a quiet "thank you", and a discreet nod of her head. The chill from outside gradually melted as she walked further into the rather rustic and vintage looking restaurant that was on the massive vineyard.The flood of golden fairy lights speckled the ceiling and came down the brick walls, highlighting the history the winery held. The walls were decorated with framed black and white pictures of the owner's family, old cutouts of newpapers mentioning the town's winery, and special momentos of medals of varying years the winery won.

Subin's eyes couldn't help but admire—just like the rest of the guests Dohyun invited to his dinner party, most she already knew, but there was always a few new faces Subin hadn't met before, as he was always the more outgoing one out of the two of them. The chatter only grew as Dohyun shined his attention on a few of his friends, swiftly making his rounds to everyone until he saw his sister, his black eyes gaining a brazen light to them as he came up to Subin with open arms. "You actually read the invitation!" He playfully exclaimed as Subin let herself get swept up into his bear hug. Subin rolled her eyes, a small snort followed by a chortle of her own fell past her dewed lips at the little inside joke they shared. She knew her invitation was personally created by Dohyun, in big red capital letters the start of her invitation read: "DO NOT WEAR BLACK, NO ON IS DYING, AN ANGEL GAINS ITS WINGS WHEN YOU WEAR WHITE", out of her own pettiness she threw it in the trash, but seconds later she quickly retrieved it to get the date and address of where she was supposed to be. "You're the only one who is this dramatic about what I wear, " Subin huffed at him as Dohyun let go of her, her chin tilting down as she looked at the dress she wore, the sheer flare of the bottom looking just a bit too bright on her eyes. She had no clue she had such a dress tucked away in her closet. "Because in every photo you blend in with the shadows. I need my people to see that I actually have a sister." Dohyun started to almost frantically explain, and it only made Subin cackle at the change in his demeanor.

"Dohyun!" a voice chimed from across the room, it made the two come out of their world and turn their heads in tthe direction a woman with flirty eyes and a sly smile, all directed towards her brother. Subin already knew where this was going, "Well, damn, I did miss you." It was Dohyun's turn to laugh this time. He shook his head with a grin spreading across his smitten features. "Don't worry I'll come back in five minutes." Subin didn't wait five minutes, she knew her brother better than he knew himself. One of the servers circling the room came over to Subin, lowering a white cloth covered tray, tall flute glasses bubbling high with champagne.
