{ ǫ }﹕Were you surprised to learn about some of the contestants' occupation and age?

{ ᴀ }﹕(He nods thoughtfully). Seonhye-ssi did look familiar the first time I saw her, but I wasn't too sure if she was that news anchor or not. I feel reassured that, that has been cleared up. Yeonah-ssi's career took me by surprise. 'Though judging by the way she carried herself.. she exudes a good confidence, which is valuable as someone who performs orthopedic surgeries for a living. I was quite impressed to be among such distinguished individuals. The contestant who left the greatest impression on me at the welcome party would have to be Yura-ssi. She's a.. minhwa? (He gives the staff a confused look before one of them leans in to whisper 'manhwa'). Ah- manhwa.. Sorry, my apologies. I'm not familiar with that literary world but after someone mentioned that she landed a webdrama deal, I went on my free time to look up her works... (He pauses in thought, recalling what he saw while searching up her works). They are interesting.. (He nods slowly). I'll say that.

{ ǫ }﹕What about the male contestants?

{ ᴀ }﹕The male contestant that stood out to me the most would have to be Junha-ssi. Judging from his looks, he doesn't seem like the typical photographer type that you might see in movies. He has a youthful.. energy to him, even though he's only a year younger than me. Seungwoo 형.. I didn't expect his age. He's energy also feels quite youthful to me too, so I initially thought that he would be around the same age as everyone else.

{ ǫ }﹕About the car you drove to Maison house.. is it yours?

{ ᴀ }﹕Yes, the car belongs to me. It's a 2025 [bleep] SUV. It's a limited model right now, but [bleep] is set to launch the first model of its kind later this year, I believe.

{ ǫ }﹕A limited model? It must've been expensive, no?

{ ᴀ }﹕It costed me a pretty penny, but I'd rather own a car by a manufacturer I trust. The only reason why I gave up my other [bleep] is because they knew I've been in the market for an SUV and so they offered me their limited model.

{ ǫ }﹕Being a COO (Chief Operating Officer), it must pay really well. Are you not worried that the other contestants will try to eliminate the possibility of you coming onto the show as a financier with your current net worth?

{ ᴀ }﹕(The question doesn't really amuse him, and he laughs to humor the staff). ᵒᶠᶠ ᵗᵒ ᵗʰᵉ ˢᶦᵈᵉ These questions are creative. (He looks at the interviewer with a stern expression). None of the contestants know any of the other contestants' intentions. That's the key point about the show, is it not? I'm quite competitive, and so I will uphold my end of the deal. Q : Have you seen Seonhye's video message to your parents?

J : (He blinked a few times as he looked at the PD-nim and shakes his head) Not yet I supposed. She did it?

- The production crew plays the video message that was made by Seonhye for Junha's parents as she had promised -

J : (Smiling at the whole video and slowly hands back the phone to the crew) How cute... (he mormured lightly before clearing his throat) I mean.. a smart girl like her must have a lot of other things in mind but I guess she is a very kind and considerate person. She has a big heart, I can see that. (Smiling sheepishly and chuckled lightly) I just knew my parents will be bragging that alot.

Q : That is a good sign! So how was your first time meeting with the other members?

J : (Hummed lightly in thought while tapping his finger on his knees) All of them are so good looking. I have this very visual kind of mindset, probably because the nature of my work but I could say most of them must be lying about their work. (laughing lightly) Because they all look like they could be models! (He paused for a few seconds before he continued) But when they begin talking, they do reflect their occupation, that is what I can say.

Q : I see... So who among them catchest your attention the most?

J : Ah well... (fiddles with his fingers a little before clasping his hands and placed on his lap) I would say, most of them does. Taehoon-ssi, Taejoon-ssi and Monica-ssi has this very strong aura coming from them. Yura-ssi and Seungwoo-ssi are like very shy and timid kind of aura like a cat... And then we have Yeonah-ssi, Seonhye-ssi (smiling a little at her name) then Aiko-ssi were very friendly during the welcome party. I know I must have missed out the rest but these people left some impressions on me.

Q : You seemed to be quite observant, is this how you always socialize around?

J : (chuckled sheepishly and tilted his head slightly) I do... I think one of my habits is that, I tend to read people whenever I socialize. I think its important at any occasion to read the room and read the people in it. I would say, I could easily adapt to any situation as long as I know what is going on around me. (nodded)

Q : So what happens usually in your mind when you spaced out like this? (plays the clip where Junha spaced out for some moments during the discussion of the rooms)

J : Oh when I spaced out, that is usually just me thinking of what is the best I should do and weighing my options without being verbal. I grew up knowing that not everything in my head should be verbalized. So I would tend to be seen like I am spacing out. Though I am glad Taejoon-ssi came and talked to me about the room. (grinning lightly and nodded) It feels nice..

question: taewoo-ssi, i hope you had a good morning so far. would you like to go ahead with your introduction?

tw: i did! though it’s not too far into it yet. [ grins ] for the l/m fans who need a refresher, my name is go taewoo and i have been working in goldman sachs for a year and a half as an investment banking associate, shortly after receiving my mba. though it sounds like a lot, i believe it was manageable in maintaining my physique and reading self help books within the little free time i have.

question: what would you consider your “charming point”?

tw: [ chuckles softly ] are you referring to a physical or more personality related trait? judging from what others have told me, my dimples seemed to strike a match with ladies (and some men). [ quirks his lips to one side while demonstrating a dimple etching itself into his cheek ] as well as .. other assets shown in my social media. personality traits such as dependability and honesty came up frequently as well, worthy of my appraisal. if you need proof, i’ll gladly contact my current and previous employers to send over their letters of recommendation. [ smirks ]

question: any personal preferences in a partner? likes? dealbreakers?

tw: i’ll begin with what i look for in a partner. if they seem to have any aspirations or goals set, or they always seem to have that underlying hunger within their eyes, i find that to be appealing. but outside of that, they have a sense of humor and are willing to connect with others outside of our relationship. ambition does not equal being a pedant or an emotionless robot. a massive dealbreaker (dating wise) would be if they constantly show up an hour or two late to our dates. also, if they constantly seem unsure of themselves or overly indecisive.

question: is there an ideal date you have in mind? if not, simply name a favorite place or activity.

tw: i follow the mantra ‘simple is best” when it comes to dates, so a sit-down restaurant or a picnic are ideal in those circumstances. [ mutters under his breath ] i didn’t realize i’d give such food-related answers.. aha. however, i won’t cheap out if a woman wants me to take her to a more expensive option. whatever is best at the moment.

question: since you decided to be on this show, what led you to make the decision to join?

tw: [ sighs softly before maintaining his polite demeanor, suppressing the sliver of pain that appeared in his eyes ] searching for the nebulous work-life balance. though it seems at first glance i may go all in on my work, i think everyone has at least opened their hearts to the idea of “the one”. i don’t aim to be liked, but i’m not opposed to being loved in this lifetime.

question: before we wrap this up, how would you sum up your thoughts on the surprise we gave you in the kitchen?

tw: the coffee and service were great and surpassed my expectations. i also didn’t anticipate the entirety of the cast to surround the kitchen island that quickly, so there’s that! however, i was unable to stay around and chat with the rest of the contestants, which is a bummer. instead, i decided to head over to the gym and check it out.

—q: First impressions matter: did anyone catch your eye today?

—n: I’d rather not say. A girl can’t reveal all her cards on the first day, can she? (She gives a playful smile, tilting her head slightly.)

—q: What surprised you the most about your first day on the show?

—n: Honestly? (She laughs lightly.) That everyone immediately gathered around the food and drinks. I expected people to be more cautious at first, but I guess free food really brings people together.

—q: Do you think your ideal type was present among the contestants?

—n: (She smiles but doesn’t say anything, simply nodding in response.)

—q: What kind of connection are you hoping to build here - something fun, or something serious?

—n: You can never really predict these things. It could start off lighthearted and turn into something real, or it could just stay fun. I think it depends on the people involved.

—q: If you had to describe your experience today in one word, what would it be and why?

—n: Exhausting. (She exhales, shaking her head.) So many new faces, so many names to remember. But in a good way! It’s overwhelming, but also exciting.

—q: What was running through your mind when you first stepped into the show?

—n: How nervous I was. I could feel my hands shaking, my legs, everything. I kept thinking, ‘Oh no, what if I trip on camera?’ (She laughs, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.)

—q: Did anyone exceed your expectations today, whether in looks, personality, or chemistry?

—n: Oh, definitely. All the girls are stunning! I was honestly intimidated for a moment. And they all seem really sweet, so even if romance doesn’t work out, I hope I can make some good friends here.

—q: What kind of first impression do you think you gave to the other contestants?

—n: I don’t know… I probably came across as a little cold. Not on purpose! I just get quiet when I’m tired and today was so much to take in. I hope they don’t think I was being standoffish. (She laughs sheepishly.)

—q: Was there a moment today that made you feel excited about what’s ahead?

—n: That’s a good question… I think so, yeah. Just seeing how everyone was smiling and genuinely happy to be here. It made me feel like this experience could be really fun.

—q: If you could redo one interaction from today, what would you change?

—n: I’d introduce myself properly and talk more. I tend to get quiet around people I don’t know well, but I don’t want to seem uninterested. Next time, I’ll try to be more open.

ah, that . . . (she smiles sheepishly, one hand rubbing her nape) how do i say this . . . ? (tilting her head in thought) i think it just hasn't registered in my head that people see me . . . and perceive me? haha. i know it's weird to say, especially with my job, but i'm just a baby in comparison to all my more experienced sunbaenims. as announcers, we start from the bottom — random segments of the news that are a bit niche. i started off on the sports segment myself and was there for three years before i became one of the main news anchors for my network.

and i do the morning news! very earlier on in the day, around 7 am, when most people are on their way to work or playing it in the background as they start their mornings. with all that in mind, i didn't really consider that people actually . . . sat down and watched me? or that they would recognize me. i suppose you'd have to have watched a lot of my broadcasts to recognize me, huh? (she chuckles to herself, blushing slightly in embarrassment) all that to say . . . i don't consider myself a celebrity nor did i ever really think i would have fans. i am just doing my job, which helps me stay informed on current events and continue refining my storytelling and speaking skills! (nods)

however . . . ! (she holds up her index finger) i'm so incredibly and extremely grateful for — (she stops mid-sentence, clearly hesitating to say it) — "my fans" . . . ! while we're here, i want to keep my promise and also send a video message to junha-ssi's parents. (nods, looking directly at the camera with a grin) [junha-ssi's] mother and father, thank you so much for your support! actually, it's the first time i've heard i have fans. my parents' friends have said they were my fans before, but i thought they just said to be nice since they're my aunts and uncles. (she laughs) but i'm really happy to hear that you enjoy watching my segment! it feels really rewarding to know. thank you! (she stands up to bow 90 degrees before she sits back down) and to the rest of my fans whose existence i don't know yet, thank you to you as well! i will continue to work hard to write entertaining and informative scripts! yura: (her eyes widen in horror as she watched the footage. slowly, she covered her face with both her hands.) "oh my god—" (in english) (her face turns red as she fans herself with her hands)(switching to korean, clearly flustered) “i’m usually not clumsy! i was nervous, maybe? a lot of people had already arrived and were getting along. i didn’t want to ruin the mood by barging in, but—” (pauses, then lets out a defeated breath) "i really didn’t think you’d keep that clip." (gives the camera a half-hearted glare)

interviewer: “what do you think about the other contestants?”

yura: (her eyes suddenly light up) "everyone looks like they stepped straight out of a manhwa.” (pauses, then leans in slightly, whispering) "i may have already assigned tropes to some of them in my head."

interviewer: "tropes? care to elaborate?"

yura: (gives a mischievous smirk, counting on her fingers.) "okay, so we have the ceo type, the charming dreamboat, the sunshine golden retriever, and i bet there is at least one character who has a tragic past." (looks dramatically at the camera.) "someone here is absolutely going to be a second lead at the end of this show.” (points at self) “what if it’s me?” (laughs) "will i at least get a good ost?"

interviewer: "is there anyone you’re particularly interested in?"

yura: (pretends to think seriously before straightening up in her chair) "here’s the thing—i’m terrible at first impressions. i always think i know someone’s vibe because i’m usually so quick to typecast them. it’s natural for a storyteller. then there’s a sudden plot twist." (laughs before shrugging lightly) "let’s just say i’m… /observing/ for now. i won’t make any decision today!”

[ her eyes roam the room in apparent confusion, hands gesticulating towards the general direction of the multiple cameras present; she lets out a sheepish chuckle as the audio director smiles at her in amusement and turns to help attach the mic to the lapel of her dress shirt; one of the writers then indulgently points to the camera right in front, and she lets out a relieved sigh. ] Oh, here? Thank you! [ she bows gratefully, tapping the mic once to test it out, and faces said camera. ] Hello, L/M viewers! The name's Baek Yeonah. I'm currently 27 years old, and in my third year of orthopedic surgery residency—I don't look like it, I know. It's a talent at this point. [ quiet laughter ripples throughout the studio as she gestures to herself with a flourish, a cheeky grin on her face; sure enough, her smaller stature barely fills the armchair she's seated in, emphasized further by the obvious gap between her body and the sides. ]

Q ┊ that's surprising. with your line of work, why and how did you decide to join the show?
Y ?♡? ┊ Believe it or not, I didn't. [ noting the inquisitive glances exchanged by the production crew, she laughs. ] Not that I was forced to be here! I'm actually glad I gave this a go. [ she nods. ] Truthfully, my best friends signed me up—shocker, no? But I'm not kidding. [ amused, she shakes her head. ] They sent my name in, one of your guys scoped me out, and I got the offer. Honestly, it's not everyday that I get an e-mail inviting me to a variety show in my inbox, so I accepted. [ at that, she winks conspiratorially at one of the directors, a teasing smile on her mien. ] PD-nim's got my schedule covered, though I must say that it won't be easy getting back into the swing of things once the show's over; occupational hazard and all that.

Q ┊ we bet you'll do just fine. now that's settled: what are you looking forward to in the show?
Y ?♡? ┊ [ she purses her lips in contemplation, staring blankly at the camera as she thinks. ] Hmmm, my guess is it's probably the hope that I get to connect with someone, be it in friendship or in a romantic sense. Both are kind of hard to come by in my line of work—my friends are all from pre-med and medical school, and my love life? Admittedly abysmal. [ she shrugs, chuckling when she hears an 'aww' from one of the writers in the background. ] Terrible interpersonal connections aside, I just hope to have fun! I'll think of this show as a mini-vacation, of sorts. And for free, too? That's a sweet deal, if you ask me.

Q ┊ are you confident you'll be walking away with the prize money?
Y ?♡? ┊ Honestly? No. [ her nose scrunches up as she laughs, playfully tilting her head from side to side; her smile only widens when some of the crew members give her a thumbs-down, going along with her antics. ] I'm serious! I hate thinking. [ she smiles ruefully. ] In surgery, most diagnoses are pretty clear-cut and all we have to do is open the patient up. I bet this show's gonna involve a lot of brain juices, so I'm both horrified and excited for that; ultimately, I'd be glad to finish this off with new friends! [ she sends fingerguns the camera's way and grins. ] But who knows, right? Maybe the viewers will just have to stay tuned and watch.

Q ┊ how are your first impressions of the other contestants?
Y ?♡? ┊ [ the camera pans nearer for a close-up, whilst the screen replays all of her previous interactions with the others. ] I've only talked extensively to a handful of them, so far—scratch that, mostly just one. [ she chuckles in embarrassment, pink tingeing her cheeks and the tips of her ears; the editor plays a montage of her conversations with a certain man in the background. ] So I can't say much yet! I hope I get to interact more with the others properly soon, though. I'm excited for the viewers to see how we all come together to give everyone something to look forward to, so please do give us your full support! Thank you! (she points to the mic in her hand before the pd clips it to the neckline of her dress.) are we starting now? (blinks a few times as she tucks her hair behind her ears.)

[ ♡ pd-nim ] : good morning aiko-ssi, please introduce yourself to everyone.

[ ♡ aiko ] : (looks around) is this on now? (she whispers softly and the pd gives her a thumb up) hello viewers! My name is aiko miyoshi. I’m 28 years young. (waves her hand in tiny) I’m currently working as a model, maybe some of you might know me, some of you might not but now you do! It’s nice to meet everyone.

[ ♡ pd-nim ] : we heard that your schedule is a little busy, what made you decide to join the show?

[ ♡ aiko ] : busy? hardly (waves her hand in the pd’s direction with a laughter) i’ve recently finished around of events overseas and someone told me that they were looking for participants to join this show. I was a little skeptical at the start but it sounded fun, therefore I’m here! I’m glad I did.

[ ♡ pd-nim ] : is there anything that you’re looking forward to in the show?

[ ♡ aiko ] : love? (chuckles softly) I’m kidding. Quite honestly, I’m here for the fun, I look forward to meeting new friends, new people from all walks of life. Yeah ( nods to herself) I think I’m rather easy-going and therefore would be quite easy to get along with. I also like laughing a lot, I think laughing is rather contagious, don’t you think? (as if to cement her answer, she starts laughing softly at the thought.) I really do laugh at anything little and small, I guess you could say I’m easily tickled. The last one... the last one… (taps her chin slowly) I guess it would be my love for eating and food. I’m an avid lover of good food. (she pauses before chuckling again) but then again who doesn’t?


[ ♡ pd-nim ] : perhaps you could tell us what you look for in a partner or if you have an ideal type?

[ ♡ aiko ] : oh.. hmm, quite honestly, I haven’t really thought about it but I think what you look for a partner would mean you have an ideal type right? (nods her head slightly) I don’t think I have an idea type…? I feel like it depends on the connection and how I feel about the other person.

—n: Hi, I’m Nayeon. I’m 26 and I work as an event designer in London. ( she smiles, perhaps a little shyly). I’ve always loved creating beautiful spaces and experiences for people, so it’s exciting to be here, where everything’s a little out of the ordinary!

—q: What made you decide to join this dating show?

—n: Well, I think it’s a combination of wanting to step outside my comfort zone and, of course, the idea of possibly finding someone special. But more than anything, I thought it’d be an interesting experience to meet new people in such a unique setting. It’s not every day you get to do something like this, right? (She chuckles.)

—q: We’re all about first impressions here. What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

—n: I think people might expect me to be this outgoing, bubbly person because of my job, but I can actually be pretty introverted. I like spending time with a close circle of friends and enjoying quiet moments. So, if you see me being a little reserved at first, it’s just me taking things in. (She shrugs, a hint of playfulness in her tone.)

—q: What are you hoping to find on this show?

—n: Honestly, I’m just hoping to connect with someone who shares similar values and has a good sense of humor. I think, deep down, we all want that feeling of being understood and valued. I’m open to whatever happens, though. Let’s see where it takes us!

—q: What’s your idea of the perfect date?

—n: For me, it’s less about the setting and more about the connection. I’d love something low-key, like having a conversation over coffee at a small café or walking through a quiet neighborhood, just talking and getting to know each other without any distractions. I think when the company is right, the date feels perfect, no matter where it happens.

—q: What do you think sets you apart from the other contestants here?

—n: I think I bring a calm energy to the table. I’m not the type to jump into drama or force anything… if something’s meant to happen, it’ll happen. I’m here to enjoy the experience and see where things go and I think that’s a mindset that might help me stand out a little.

—q: And finally, tell us a little about your ideal partner. What qualities are most important to you?

—n: I value honesty and kindness the most. Someone who’s genuine and doesn’t try to be something they’re not. I also appreciate a good sense of humor. Life’s way too short not to laugh! [q]: who do you think is going to be the most popular female contestant among the men? in contrast, the most popular male contestant with the women?

— seungwoo: i don't know... it's really hard to say because i think everyone truly is charming and attractive. everyone is so different as well, which i think is amazing, as there's really no one who's similar or overlapping in terms of personal flair, style or personality. (he crosses his arms, puffing out his one cheek as he thinks). hm. i think if i /had/ to designate someone... matcha-nim? (he smiles in uncertainty, shameful that he doesn't clearly remember her name as well). from the guys, i think taehoon.

[q]: why aiko (matcha-nim) and taehoon?

— seungwoo: ah, so her name is aiko! ごめんなさい、あいこちゃん. 抹茶をありがとう、とても美味しかったです。(subtitles: i'm sorry, aiko-chan, thank you for the matcha, it was delicious). i chose them both because i think their beauty aligns with a lot of people's ideals. to me, they also uphold the image of what i imagine would be the prince and princess in a romance drama or movie.

[q]: after hearing people's ages, careers and ideal types, is there anyone who surprised you the most? has your interest in them changed after this?

— seungwoo: yes... (he says after a hum of thought). forgive me again, but i'm really terrible with names— (he chuckles sheepishly, looking apologetic). but um surprisingly mocha-nim? the one i made an impromptu mocha latte for (replays to seungwoo making her an improvised hot chocolate) ... i think her name was yeonah? she was the most surprising to me, because just based off her aura, i thought she would have an office job. but i think the point that made me go 'oh? we might get along' is when she said her ideal type is someone driven and easy-going, because i find myself like that. i'm very ambitious and hard on myself, but with everyone else, i'm pretty laid-back. i think if the opportunity presented itself, i would try and get to know her more.

[q]: is there anyone that didn't surprise you?

— seungwoo: minji, monica-ssi, yura-ssi and taejoon. with minji, i was pretty sure she was younger, so i thought her career might be related to social media. but i also did see her with a gaming device in the living room just before the welcome party (replays moment where seungwoo saw minji in the living room). monica-ssi i think is self-explanatory? champagne and luxury brand, definitely fits. — seungwoo: (he looks off to the side, sighing in disappointment with a shake of his head, before looking back to the camera). you see, i watch the news everyday... J: Hello everyone (bows head slightly and smiles a little) My name is Kim Junha, I am 27 years old. (clasps his hands on his lap) I am a photographer and I have my own photography company. Aside from that, I recently purchased and officially owned a studio in Hongdae.

Q : How did you decided that you want to join this show?

J: (Hummed lowly in thought for a few moment, head tilting to the side a bit) I have been working a lot lately that I have gotten less and less time to go on blind dates. One day, I got a job for a bridal shoot and I just thought maybe I should take dating more seriously and spared some time for it from work. Maybe get married before I turned 30? That kind of feeling... (He explained and rubs his palms slowly while nodding slowly)

Q : So what kind of person do you look forward to find here?

J: I would say someone who I feel compatible with. A connection and a spark is important. If there is no chemistry, it would just feel useless even in the future. I would prefer someone who brings more colour to my life, possibly make me forget about work too...(He chuckled lightly at the thought) but not too forgetful that I can't earn money of course.

Q : So what if the person you thought have chemistry with you, did not actually feel the same for you?

J : If that's the case... (nods slightly with a small pout) I will have to move on. But I do hope that what ever feelings I have to that person does not deepens. It would be more painful of course but I will still back away and move on with my life. (He chuckled warily and nodded) But in any way, I have a feeling I will have so much fun and if I can't find love, at least I get to go home with new friends and connections in mind so it will be very interesting still. { ᴀ }﹕Ah.. Did it come off that way? (raises one eyebrow in question, briefly chuckling). Taejoon.. seemed eager, and he had good energy, I could tell. We didn't shake hands because I simply did not see the need to. (slightly tilts his head to the side in agreement). Geum Incheon, I believe is his name? Didn't have a chance to speak to him much. Seungwoo left the best impression on me, if we're being honest. He seemed generous, making everyone's coffee orders without complaint. If he's ever looking for a job, I'd hire him to work for me. (nods thoughtfully).

{ ǫ }﹕What about the female contestants? Did any of them leave a lasting impression on you?

{ ᴀ }﹕I didn't get her name, but the mimosa-nim? She looked very comfortable and confident coming in. No one was expecting her to pull out champagne and orange juice from her purse. I noticed that it was mostly the women who brought things for our first meeting, which doesn't make us men look too good does it? Regardless, I'd say the first meeting was a success, and I appreciate everyone who brought something to share.

" (fully aware of how mid TJ probably sounded but he gives off a small uncaring shrug.) " I'm 28, a part time bartender and piercer, I own my studio and well.. [ q ] : you look like someone who would be interested in niche things, is that why you joined the show?

[ a ] : (he chuckles first before answering with an almost knowing glint in his eyes) " well of course, I would try almost anything once. So why not give finding love a shot on national TV right? I'm also here to fulfill a bargain. "

[ q ] : what bargain?

[ a ] : (with the same knowing smile, he answers) "that's for you guys to find out."

[ q ] : what do you think is the most attractive part about you?

[ a ] : " for me personally? " ( he feigns pondering, knowing damn well he's sure of the things that he liked about himself) " I like my shoulders, my sleeve .." (he trails off, rolling his sleeve to reveal his tatted arm underneath then rolling his clothing back down just before he shows the whole thing.) "gotta tune in if you want to see the whole piece!" (The wide smile is back on his visage) "ah.. of course as a piercer, I also really like my piercings." (He tilts his head side by side to show both his pierced ears, the camera lighting slightly reflecting off the silver earrings )

yura: (squints at the bright lighting and looks around at the multiple cameras) “which camera - ah, this one?” (points at the one in front of her and receives a nod from the interviewer) “ah, yes. hello. i am manhwa creator, jung yura.” (waves both hands in the air and lets out a small chuckle)

interviewer: “what made you decide to join this dating show?”

yura: “hm…” (has a look of contemplation on her face before breaking into an awkward smile) “my friends say that my characters have a better love life than i do. it’s also been a while since i’ve been in a relationship as i’ve been immersed in my work, so i wanted to take a chance.” (leans in and whispers) “my friend signed me up for this.”

interviewer: “what’s your biggest red flag when it comes to dating?”

yura: “theirs or mine?” (blinks as the question is reconfirmed by the interviewer) “oh, theirs?” (hums in thought) “i would say…. if he has a fifth-grade reading comprehension - total red flag. but manhwas are easy to read, so…” (shrugs lightly) “maybe if he doesn’t shower every day?” (widens her eyes and looks directly at the camera) “i hope everyone here showers everyday or this is going to be a very different kind of reality show - a survival show.”

interviewer: “what’s your ideal type?”

yura: (pauses and lightly scratches the top of her arm) “hm, apart from being 2d?” (laughs) “i’m joking, i promise.” (hums again) “someone who matches my energy? or at least someone who can tone me down? someone who knows i might have a few loose screws but still thinks i’m hot.”

interviewer: “do you have a gameplan to find *the one* here?”

yura: “honestly?” (shakes her head) “i hope this doesn’t backfire and people stop reading my manhwas.” (leans back in laughter before straightening up again) “but honestly, my game plan is to get along with others here. if *the one* is here, then he’s here. but he has to convince me that he’s *the one*.”

interviewer: “what will you do if you get rejected by someone you’re interested in?”

yura: (let’s out a deep sigh and tilts her head forward as she puts a hand to her forehead with a rather theatrical expression) “i’d feel betrayed. complete and utter betrayal.” (grins and laughs again) “i’m just joking. if i get rejected then… i have no choice but to go home and eat my feelings.” (points at the cameras) “dear viewers, if you see me getting wasted and eating at local pojangmachas, please ignore me. i am just healing from a heartbreak!”

interviewer: “any final words?”

yura: “my dear, loyal readers…” (clasps her hands in prayer) “please be nice to me in the comments. i know i’m embarrassing. but if you see me making a fool of myself on national tv, please switch the channel—” (notices the cue from the interviewer) “i mean—please know i am just someone looking for love, and sometimes the people most desperate for love can be the most cringe of them all.” (gives finger hearts to the camera one last time as it fades out)

He's dressed in a crisp navy blue suit, a white button-down, an indigo-patterned tie, and coffee-colored dress shoes. No wrinkle in sight. No single strand of hair out of place.

ZOOM INTO AND FOLLOW Choi Taehoon, walking in.

He acknowledges the production team with a thorough glance and a gentle smile before he stops beside the interview chair and bows steadily towards everyone. Lifting himself back up, he holds up his palm in greeting.

He nods once, his eyes staying on the interviewer that is seated off to the side of the camera.

The interviewer kindly guides his gaze towards the camera lens next to her with a hand.

He readjusts his position and looks directly into the camera now.

　　　My name is Choi Taehoon, and I am 28 years old. Due to nondisclosure agreements, I can't speak much on my line of work or place of employment, but my official position is COO, Chief Operating Officer. I work right under the CEO, sometimes in place of, and I oversee daily operations at our headquarters, as well as sustain and cultivate external relationships with clients. My efforts safeguard both quality assurance of our services for our clients and fair working conditions for our employees.

　　　Sounds like a huge responsibility. Are you worried at all that your being here on the show will interfere with your role as COO?

Taehoon smiles, but his smile appears to be more of an amused smirk.

　　　Hardly. I am confident in my ability to handle both simultaneously. However, I will say that our CEO wasn't too thrilled to learn that I'll be away from office once filming starts.

　　　Oops.. sorry, CEO! Anyways, how did you end up hearing about L/M? Did you apply on your own in hopes of finding true love or perhaps, winning the show?

　　　Believe it or not, I was forced to.

He does that same amused smirk from before but with an inexplicable edgy tightness to it, pausing in silence for a good second before he speaks again.

　　　Interesting. Well, we'll have to give a big shoutout to your brother!

The interviewer shares a somewhat nervous laughter. This does not phase Taehoon. Rather, it seems to further amuse him.

　　　Now, your answer to this next question will not be included in the first final cut, but we have to ask all of the L/M contestants this for the final reveal—but what are you here on the show for? Love or money?

Taehoon shifts his gaze from the camera to the interview this time, a slight glimmer of mischief in his eye as he answers her question.

(chuckling to herself) i was really flustered at his comment. i didn't really understand what he was trying to say, and when i registered it, i was like oh?! me? (tilting her head, making a surprised expression) it was a bit embarrassing. i thought everyone was already at the house and i was late so i ran a little to get here faster (insert clip of seonhye jogging up the hill with her stuff) i did feel warm but i didn't think it would be that evident. actually, can you show me a clip? was it really that bad? did i look like a tomato?

(peers over at the pd, they show her watching the scene, and then she nods slowly)

ah, so it was like that? yeah, i am a bit redder than i thought. i appreciate that he checked in. actually, when i asked for a latte, i wanted an iced one . . . (the admission sounds shameful and she covers her face as she laughs) but i got cut off with everyone coming in, and he already made it all nice with latte art when we got a chance to talk again. it was a heart. very cute, by the way! i said it was hot because it was. fresh and warm! i didn't want to make more work for him when he was already so kind to play barista for everyone. and it's not like i can't drink a warm drink! it was still yummy. so, yes, thank you seungwoo-ssi! (she holds up two thumbs up)

[q]: after seeing the female contestants, who has left the strongest first impression on you?

— seungwoo: (hums in thought, looking upwards). to be honest, i was so busy focusing on the espresso machine and lattes that i didn't really pay attention to who was entering. i kind of just looked up from making my espresso— (he re-enacts himself at the espresso machine looking up) and was like; 'oh wow, there's a lot more people'. i felt a little bit unprepared? i also felt a bit disappointed in myself, because i had felt as if i hadn't made a good first impression on people...(he nods slowly to himself, still seemingly in thought, as if he's trying to understand and process himself back in the moment). i think i also just zoned in on my task, because i felt a bit insecure seeing the other male contestants, they're all very handsome.

(puts on a smile). i'm hoping i can have a chance to talk to everyone. going back to the original question, although i wasn't really following along with what was going on around me, just by overhearing a few things... i think- and pardon me, i didn't get her name so i'm going to be calling her this, but... mimosa-nim? (he chuckles nervously, before continuing). i thought her entrance—more so the mimosas she brought was uh intense. champagne right on day one, i thought it was pretty grand.

[q]: what did you mean when you told seonhye; "you look hot." what was the intent behind that statement?

— huh? intent? (seungwoo scratches his temple in confusion). i meant that she looked hot... (blinks twice in succession, his gaze still appearing puzzled). her cheeks were flushed, i didn't know if she wasn't feeling well. but then she explained that she had jogged, but even still—how many people drinks lattes when they're done working out? i could understand even a room temperature drink and to be fair, everyone's preferences are different, but i don't know, it just felt odd that she asked for a hot drink in that state. (his eyebrows furrow). she also looks really familiar, like i've seen her before. it's really bothersome, because i don't know why the thought keeps lingering in my head.

[ a ] : hi l.m viewers, my name is geum incheon. (smiling, he gives a light wave). yes, you heard right, my name is incheon—like the airport, like the city. but if it's too awkward for you to say, you can also call be by my english name; daniel, or danny for short.

[ q ] : does the city of incheon or icn airport have anything to do with your name?

[ a ] : (he sighs deeply, looking up in embarrassment, his hands on his hips. he then looks back to the camera, in slight? annoyance). i wish it didn't, but yes, it does.

[ a ] : (he covers the lower half of his face, only letting his eyes show). my parents both worked in the aviation industry... and met at incheon airport. so yeah... i guess my name could be worse, like my sister's.
