Site Updates

Hi everyone! Over the next few days, I'm going to be making a few updates to the site infrastructure. Every few months or so, the site goes down because the host servers need to make maintenance updates that require our server provider to shut down our servers for a little while. This is obviously annoying so I'm moving to a different provider that can do those updates without also having to bring our site down. Ironically, the site will be unstable over the next few days or so while I move the whole site over to a new cloud provider so I'm just letting you all know. Hopefully, the site never goes down again due to host maintenance after the move.

By the way, I'm looking for a freelance Flutter mobile app developer to help me with the new Asianfanfics: Material app and to create a new RoleplayRepublic app. It's a lot of work so this might be interesting to anyone looking for a long-term gig. If you or anyone you know is interested, I posted the job at https://www.asianfanfics.com/page/jobs. Update: Well, that went downhill fast. One of the updates I was doing today to prepare for the move required changing one of the tables that hold all of the roleplay posts. I've been doing this change to the other tables all day and it's been pretty fast so I figured this one would be too. What I didn't know is that it's been a couple of years since I last checked this table and it apparently now has over 100 million(!) posts. Ya'll love roleplaying. So yeah, sorry the site went down for almost an hour there. This is the second to last update that I need to do before the site gets moved and the last update shouldn't be anywhere near as disruptive as this one. Also, I shouldn't have done this over the weekend but it's my only free time 😑 My bad.
