I had been meaning to post this up earlier but I only managed to get online with my laptop today and transfer pictures from my dslr.
What you see here... in the picture, this 12 course meal – wait, it's actually 14 course
meal I forgot to take some pictures of the salmon head and something else that I can't seem to remember.
Okay, usually I don't post about my gluttony but during Lunar New year, we visit relatives and friend's homes.
In this case, my family had gone to the home of my stepmom's Godmother.
You could say that it's my highlight and the most anticipated house for me to visit.
In this home, it's not about the red packets that I might collect but the feast that would be there waiting for any friend or relative that comes over.
The chef in charge of this, I respect wholeheartly
because he had been planning and gathering ingredients for this meal feast at least a month in advance!
AND it's not just what you see in these pictures.
In his kitchen, he has TWO fridge stock full with prepped dishes just shy of the final stage of cooking.
Also, he borrows space from his sister's fridge so technically he has 3 fridge space!
The experience at this dining table is something that I can never forget.
It's like no matter how much you eat, you can never finish it because he has more in the kitchen and will simply top it up.
Believe me I tried.
When my family started eating; my dad, stepmom and sister were done after awhile BUT I was still eating.
The next family came in AND I WAS STILL EATING
The third family sat at the dining table AND I WAS STILL THERE EATING !
Only after that I gave up and had a bowl of sea coconut for dessert. - the last picture -
OTL
- I have proved what a glutton I am *cries* -
My sister and I call this food enough for an army.
Which to our amazement, he told us that he used to work in the army as a chef so he was used to dealing with large quantities.
O A O....
He had almost went to work in a 5 star hotel as a chef but after taking on a shift... he told us that he didn't find any joy in it and rather cook for family and friends instead.
My heart ached when I saw his hands because I saw how weathered and rough they were from cooking all day
I can only commend on how amazing he is and salute to him as a chef
And since he liked seeing people enjoy his cooking,
I hoped that I made him really happy by eating 3 rounds of food and went into a food comatose after that.
You could call that part the sweet dream.
The nightmare was the weighing scale when I stepped on it the next day.
