1| Coffee and Comfort: Muse A is a college student, reeling from a bad breakup/stressing over midterms/(etc.). Drowning their sorrows/worries at the campus coffee shop one night, Muse A encounters their professor, Muse B. Muse B is looking for an outlet to plug in their laptop and Muse A offers the one beside their table. Muse B joins Muse A for a coffee and they exchange small talk as Muse B grades coursework. As the evening progresses, the conversation continues and by the time the cafe is ready for closing, the pair is left with a desire to keep the conversation going. Feeling it inappropriate to “hang out” together off-campus, Muse A and Muse B make unofficial plans to continue their chat at the cafe the following night. Muse A and Muse B have such deep/meaningful/enjoyable conversations that they resolve to start meeting each other to talk once a week. {Friendship, Love, Romance, Comfort}
Optional: Gradually, an attraction develops between the pair and they cautiously embark on a relationship. The pair must keep their affairs secret because of potential repercussions for them both.
2| A Change: Muse A and Muse B share a one bedroom apartment as it’s all they can afford in the neighborhood they live in. Despite their cramped quarters, they’re happy with their living arrangements and more importantly they love living together. They’ve been together (roommates/lovers/dating/married) for a little over a year now and they have a healthy intimate life behind closed doors. Both Muse A and Muse B are adventurous spirits, typically willing to try anything at least once. When Muse B comes home with a brand new video camera, the couple is quick to put it to use by making their own tape. The frisky pair have a blast performing for each other and for the camera and enjoy the end result when they play it back. {}
3| Nice View: Muse A undresses habitually in front of their bedroom window, one day discovering that muse B is watching them from the building across the street. Rather than shrink away from the attention, muse A embraces it and makes a little show of undressing the rest of the way for muse B before pulling the curtains closed. Over the course of the following few days, muse A and muse B meet at the window for some shared exhibitionism. Muse A and muse B both shed their clothes with the express purpose of teasing the other into a state of ual frenzy. This little game is thrilling for muse A because they know absolutely nothing about each other and anyone could catch them if they look up to their windows at the right time. One day, after a particularly steamy session, Muse B presses a note to the inside of their window asking if they can meet muse A face-to-face.
What will muse A say? Will meeting up with muse B destroy the fun of their flirtation from-afar? Or will it only raise the stakes. {}
4| Frost Bite: Muse A is driving along an unfamiliar road on what the meteorologists have dubbed ‘the coldest day of the year’. The sky is overcast and gray, signaling that a blizzard is imminent. Anxious to get home before the snow begins, Muse A drives faster and his/her car slides on a patch of black ice. The car swerves off the road and into a ravine that Muse A is unable to maneuver out of. There’s no cell phone reception here, and there are no other cars passing by. Panic begins to creep in until Muse A hears a sound coming from within the thick of the snow-capped trees. He/She treks into the woods that border the desolate road in hopes of finding help. What little daylight there was is dwindling and the bite of frigid, winter air is setting in. Muse A can barely feel his/her fingers or toes when he/she stumbles upon a small cabin, smoke rising from a thin chimney. Muse B inhabits this cabin. He/She is on his/her way back to the cozy dwelling with an armful of fire wood when he/she spots Muse A, shivering in the ankle-deep snow. Muse B invites Muse A inside to warm up. {Friendship}
5| Late Night: Muse A and Muse B were in a tumultuous relationship years ago. It was full of lust and desire, but the young lovers had a tendency for hot-tempered, vicious arguments. They broke up mutually and moved on, realizing that the situation was never going to give way to something healthy, but neither truly got over the other. Even though Muse A and Muse B are both in loving, stable relationships in the present time, it lacks the fervor of the connection they had with each other, and thoughts constantly wander to their old flame, wishing their new relationship had that same passion. Late one night, Muse B picks up the phone and dials Muse A, simply wanting to hear their voice. Muse A is shocked and hesitant to speak with Muse B considering their significant other is sleeping in bed in the next room, but is unable to hang up, emotions running high. The calls continue nightly in secret. After several conversations, both agree they need closure to move on, and decide to meet in person. {Possible , romance, and ting}
6| I'm losing my mind: Muse A has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital, and is currently undergoing a long term evaluation. Muse B is a volunteer at the hospital. They bring the families of the residents anything they may need, sit with patients that have no visitors, or simply act as a good listener when needed. A doctor on staff directs Muse B to Muse A, explaining that Muse A is very much alert, but does not respond to anyone that attempts to interact with them. The doctor suggests that Muse B sit with Muse A on the next day, perhaps reading them a novel or telling stories in the hopes that a fresh face who is neither staff nor patient will garner a positive response. Muse B signs in the following day with a copy of their favorite book in hand and sits at Muse A’s side to read. Muse A does not respond for days on end, but one afternoon they finally make eye contact with Muse B, the hint of a smile on their features, looking forward to continuing the story. Muse B is overwhelmed by the small gesture, suddenly hit by the realization that in spite of Muse A’s complete and utter silence, they have grown incredibly fond of them. As the novel progresses, so does the connection between volunteer and patient. Only when the last page has been read aloud does Muse A finally speak to Muse B. {Drama, love, crime, angst}
Option 1 : Muse A has been faking all along in hopes of using insanity as their defense in a criminal court case against them. Muse B discovers this and is embarrassed and heartbroken.
Option 2 : Muse B confesses their feelings to Muse A, who reciprocates and in turn informs Muse B of the reason for their admittance to the hospital. Muse B promises to stand by Muse A, no matter what happens.
7| Break in:Muse A’s house/apartment has been broken into and ransacked. Feeling unsafe, Muse A asks Muse B to let them stay at their place until the police have apprehended the person responsible.
Will deeper friendship or romance blossom between Muse A and Muse B during the length of the stay?
Or will the experience be a disaster that reveals all the dirty little habits and quirks Muse A and Muse B have kept from one another?
8| Rainy Days: Muse A is sipping tea by the window, watching the rain come down from the comfort of his/her warm, dry home. He/She peers out toward the quiet street just as Muse B rides his/her bike by the house and runs into a huge pothole. It’s a funny sight to behold, the poor soul drenched in muddy water, the front wheel of his/her bike slightly mangled, but ultimately Muse A feels badly for the soaked stranger and decides to intervene. Muse A pulls on a jacket and hurries outside to offer help. It isn’t until Muse B looks up in Muse A’s direction that the two realize they’ve met before..
